  1. Perhaps, perhaps... Yes, but can that really make a $4+ price difference?
  2. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed with the Squidtron set. The reasons: I expected it to be bigger. (That's what she said. ) I thought it would be some kind of cool Blacktron 3 starfighter, but it's just a space age tow truck. Squidman looks better in green and red, and I was hoping he would have some kind of Blacktron torso just like Rench. The police officer has the same old Power Miner head as the one from Raid VPR. I hope that this is prelim, but I'm not holding my breath as these pics look rather final. The design is kinda nice though, especially that of that hilarious asteroid-mounted ATM , and it's definitely a great parts pack, so I will get at least one of these just for that. Raid VPR looks great as ever. I just hope it'll be cheaper than Amazon shows it. Also, I still think the name of the set is rather curious. I mean, who is doing the raiding here? With Batbrick's conspiracy theory in mind, I can't help but think that it's the space police... :look:
  3. I think it would be great if there were a $50 T-6 Shuttle set with Cad Bane, Mace Windu, Obi Wan, and Cody. Also, it would be a dream come true if there was a $15 Hostage Crisis set with a little Coruscant vehicle and with Cad Bane, Aurra Sing, Shahan Alama, 3D, and some droid commandos!
  4. As lego40k pointed out in the Toy Story thread, Star Wars battle packs cost around $10-11, and so do the unofficial BPs such as the Toy Story Army Men set or Indy's Ambush in Cairo or PoP's Hassasin Hideout, and include 4-5 figs and a vehicle, whereas the Castle and Pirates BPs include 5 figs with some accessories, but no vehicle, and cost $15. This is rather surprising since licensed Lego is usually more expensive than normal Lego. It becomes even more puzzling when you consider that the figs in the Castle and Pirate BPs are made out of a cheaper plastic. So, what's up with that?
  5. Children of the Force was a pretty intense episode. It had so much great stuff going on in it that I can't believe it was only under half an hour long! I like how it felt like Episode III at some points (Darth Sidious being the main villain, Anakin acting a bit more like Vader, Jedi masters meditating, Palpatine being all fatherly with Anakin, crashing station on Mustafar, etc.). There were also a few nice references such as the "No! Lock them all down, hurry!" line from Episode IV. There were also some funny parts, such as Ahsoka trying to join the conversation of the "big boys" by acting like Obi Wan; or big, scary Darth Sidious trying to calm a baby. It was great to see so many known places again, and the "interrogation" scene was simply awesome! I think we can certainly say that this season began with a bang, and I'm looking forward to the next episodes! I'm not so sure about the one next week (Padme is dying - Again ) but I can't wait for the Geonosis episodes that seem to follow that one. Btw, if you guys are wondering how Cad Bane captured Master Ropal, you should check out the webcomic. It's pretty good! Speaking of the webcomic... Does anyone have a link to the ones from season 1? I can't seem to find them. Well, Mace Windu's line "I think the fear of whoever you work for outweighs your fear of us" and Bane's reaction "This conversation is over" implies that he is.
  6. Nice job, ADHO15, and everybody who entered. I vote for Commander Flash. I just love that camouflage style. Btw, ADHO, how about making some clones from Season 2? There are lots of cool ones to choose from: Commander Ganch Squawk Warthog Denal (with nightvision thingy and backpack) Those are the only ones I can think of right now.
  7. Man, with every new negative comment I'm getting more and more inclined to actually buy one of these just to prove to people that these are nothing like Galidor. If I should decide to do so, I would probably get Big Chill, not only because he's my favorite character, but also because he is the one that is best for reusable parts. I will wait for a sale though. Hehe, you're right, I never thought of it that way. Humongosaur actually is minifig scale - sort of. I might get him too in order to make some minifig scale Ben 10 mocs if I can get him cheap. Nice to see another Ben 10 fan around here. But please use some punctuation and capitalization, andy0002.
  8. Well, for what they are, they're alright I guess. those new crystal pieces on Cromastone will be usefull for System MOCs. In fact, I'm surprised they didn't use these in the new Power Miners sets. But even though I am one of the few people who is actually trying to like this theme, I wont be buying any of these, probably not even on sale. Umm... One word: Money. It has the Ben 10 label on it, so kids are much more likely to buy these than Bionicle. Also, these have a larger emphasis on mix and matching the parts to create your own aliens, something I haven't seen Bionicle do in a while. Oh, and I wouldn't trust those prices, guys. Many of the Amazon prices released today don't sound very realistic. I would expect these to be more around $15.
  9. Ah yes, sorry, hit the wrong key. Yes, and bley and, surprisingly, silver.
  10. Wow! That mech looks awesome! And it comes with so many useful parts: silver Agents armor, lime 1x3 tiles, and grey 2x4 tiles! Along with the Fire Blaster, this is an absolute must-buy for me! I might even get two! I just hope that the price of the Fire Blaster is wrong. If it's really 67 pcs as it says, it should be $8 just like the Mine Mech, which has exactly 67 pcs too. That's probably prelim or a mistake. Just look at the official pics of the Boulder Blaster on S@H. It shows red chrystals, but it comes with blue ones. Probably not. I don't plan to go there for a while. Sorry. Besides, my phone takes crappy pics.
  11. Ah. Good to finally see a conclusion of this. I feared that this was just a hoax like the Lego Space and Lego Castle video games. Of course a flash game isn't as good as an actual game, but it's at least something.
  12. New clip! Nothing all that new though, as most of this has been shown in the last trailer. After 9, this is the next animated movie I'm looking forward to. I really like the visual style and animation of Imagi studios, and this movie looks promising. I have not seen or read anything of Astroboy before, but I did watch Robotboy and liked the story of a crime fighting boy robot.
  13. I made use of the Bricktober sale at TRU and got myself Granite Grinder, Sep Shuttle, and Rep Attack Shuttle - all at 15% off. Those were the only sets that I wanted and which didn't have overly inflated prices. However, I think I will return the Grinder because I still ended up paying more for it than I would if I bought it at the Lego store. It's just a few cents, but who knows, maybe a better sale will come around for this one. What sucks is that I can't allow myself to open them until I know for sure that these wont be the 30% discounted items of the second, third, or fourth week of bricktober.
  14. Not sure if this is news or not, but when I went to the Lego store today, they had a Power Miners watch. It included a Glaciator fig and some dynamite.
  15. Wow. Being negative as usual I see. Seriously, Klaus, it's OK if you think that the majority of Lego themes suck, and it's OK if you tell us that, but it's not to do so in such a respectless tone. Please change that. Yeah, I guess that's true. @ Front: Great job on the diving gear, man! Keep it up! Back on topic: Isn't it strange that we got pics of all the sets besides the giant shark one? I wonder what the reverse side of the pirate-like head looks like.
  16. I watched The Invention of Lying recently. It has rather bad reviews because it has some very atheist jokes in it and basically makes Christianity look like a big fat lie. As I'm atheist and completely agree with the views showcased in the movie, I was able to thoroughly enjoy it. Also, I hear that some people didn't think that Death Race was very good. I, however, loved it. It had guns, it had my favorite car (mustang), and the driver called himself Frankenstein, and I like the story of Frankenstein. I also think the action was great and it was a nice adaption of combat racing videogames.
  17. Well, looks like a whole chapter has passed without me posting. Hope that doesn't disqualify me or something. It's just really hard to catch up. It would be great if someone could write a Chapter 2 summary, possibly relatively detailed.
  18. Wow. Reading through all the hassle people have gone through, on top of the whole misleadingness of the ad, makes me hate TRU even more. I'll stop by today and see what I can achieve. Btw, has it been confirmed yet that the promotional brick is Duplo?
  19. I can definitely see that happen. Perhaps in the summer wave. Just like we saw Inferno's Volcano Base in the background of Turbocar Chase and got it as a set soon after. Besides, you can't really have a theme called Atlantis without an actual Atlantis, and when done right, an Atlantis Temple set would sell like hot cakes.
  20. No offense, CCA, but your ideas sound terrible to me. I hate the concept of first person shooters in general, and having them converted into Lego version would be completely pointless and disgracing to Lego in my opinion. I mean, do you really want a game where you run around and shoot minifigs? The only exception is the Lego SW Battlefront idea. Battlefront is a good game, and since the LSW games are already a bit similar in that they have you fighting clones or droids, it wouldn't be much of a stretch. In order not to loose the creative Lego aspect of Lego games, they could offer the minifig customization option from the existing Lego games for creating custom troops (like in Elite Squadron) and a feature where you have to build the vehicles before you can use them. That would be great. As for me, I'd really like to see a Lego Agents game. You would have to fight through Inferno's henchmen and fulfill missions. You would have to get through hi-tech traps and security systems. The bosses would be the iconic Agents villains, and the end boss would of course be Dr. Inferno. There would be vehicle levels too. And since there are not many good guys, maybe it could be like Lego Batman where there are levels where you play as the villains too. Just imagine how cool it would be to play as Saw Fist, Break Jaw, or Dyna-Mite! Also, when done right, a Lego Toy Story: The Videogame would be amazing! It would encompass all three movies and feature all the toys from the movies as minifigs. A new version of the old Lego Racer game(s) would be neat too, with all the new elements and themes. Tracks could include Agents, Power Miners, Atlantis, SP3, Fantasy Era Castle, City (with all the modular houses), New Pirates, and maybe Mars Mission. Cars and drivers would be made out of elements from those themes. And I'm really hoping that the rumors of a Lego Clone Wars game are true! That TimeCruisers game Lordofdragonss suggested sounds neat too but I think only AFOLs would be able to enjoy it. Kids would only know the most recent themes and not know what's going on in the older ones. Even worse, if they would see something they like, they would start begging their parents to buy those sets, and then people would have to start bricklinking old sets, and I don't think anyone really wants that to happen.
  21. Why? And what's your definition of "new"? I like the new commercials with the animated bits inserted.
  22. I don't really see the difference between this and the Han Solo Affair to be honest, except that it's a series instead of a short film. But hey, what the Santa says goes I guess. So, I guess the Behind the Bricks vid hasn't been added because it's not a commercial either? Oh well, it was worth a try.
  23. Who says there are no Pirates in 2010? Thanks so much for those pics! I'm getting more and more sold on this theme. The minifigs are superb and the designs are great! I'm definitely getting the four smallest sets for the figs (even though the Manta Warrior impulse is an even bigger rip-off than than 8400 Space Speeder ) if for anything and maybe later I'll get turbojet and the ruins too. Bring on 2010!
  24. Fair enough. Who cares about Duplo anyway. Just out of curiosity: If we do include mini-themes such as Jurassic Park 3, why don't we include ones like shell, McDonalds, or Telekom?
  25. That does not answer my question though (if that was the intent of your post). I'd like to know if both the 10/15% discount AND the 30% discount apply to those selected sets.
