  1. Nice find! Hm... I'm not digging the design though. Looks like it's supposed to be a space equivalent of a Police helicopter, but with a big honkin' laser cannon attached to the side. It could be a promotional or exclusive of some kind, considering that it doesn't seem to have any bad guy and has a similar set number as the Security Transport and Pitstop.
  2. You were able to sign up because of the glitch? That's very strange. Anyway, I am two stamps away from the $20 gift card, so if I join VIP now, do I get 350 points? If not, until when do I have to use up my stamp card?
  3. I like the idea, but isn't it a bit late for that? Halloween is in a few days. And voting in a raffle? That doesn't compute. And why two winners? Do tell! I still think it should rather be a "Fate of Ahsoka" contest, the difference being that you don't have to kill her and can show what her life is like after the CW. How about an Imperials VS. Imperials contest? A contest where you show stormies fighting against red and/or blue coats!
  4. OK, thanks. Let's keep gping, shall we? Which vehicles can the Hailfire attack with its special ability? Rocket droids, Geonosians, and STAPS are the only things in the Sep army that can travel across water, right? Can you destroy your own vehicles? It is said that Assassin droids cannot be attacked by RA of units, but does that also mean that units cannot attack/destrpy a vehicle they are driving?
  5. Sounds good. Thanks for letting us know. So, you can't even tell us what kind of store or what color it is?
  6. Oh my... I think we all just got served. Nice army, Pengi, very nice indeed. But I think the transports and the MTT don't count since they are MOCs. Am I glad that I don't play as Republic! So, ADHO, is there any new date for the game to begin or are we just gonna wait until everybody has their armies in? Other questions: can we decide our troop positions AFTER we know the vehicle formations and which map we're playing on? Who decides who starts at which side of the map? The rules for the bloodfin say that the unit on the bike cannot attack whilst piloting. Does this mean that units piloting other vehicles can attack whilst on their vehicle unless stated otherwise, such as Dooku on his speeder? Also, could you please explain this part:
  7. I hate to admit it, but I actually like this one much better than the Star Wars one. The tiles would make for a sweet billboard/movie poster for a City layout! I might get this when it's on sale, keep the tiles, and sell the case (since I don't have a DS).
  8. Thanks for the kind comments, guys. You're right, they should have matched the colors somehow. I forgot to mention that in the review. Yeah, I noticed that too, but forgot to mention it as well. It would have been nice if they would have included sand blue vampire heads instead of the old troll heads. But then again, this set already comes with three new heads (and with four of each at that), so I think we should be grateful for what we got. Pi is right, my dad got them for me on a business trip to Germany. @Pi: Although I speak German fluently, I'm not German. I'm actually Turkish. That reminds me that I have never actually introduced myself here. It's probably about time.
  9. Hehe, yeah, that part was meant to be funny too. Btw, I just sent JD the rest of the VOs, so I think we can expect the third part soon.
  10. If you need ideas for a Republic base, I recommend watching the CW episode "Hidden Enemy" again. Most of the episode takes place in a Republic base and offers some good ideas, such as a briefing room or a mess hall.
  11. Wait - WHAT? Why wasn't I informed of this?! I didn't see anything about it on their website and nobody posted it here! Fiddlesticks. Anyway, there is a 15% off coupon for TRU here, but it excludes Star Wars and it doesn't look like you could combine it with the free case offer. Still a nice offer though. Expires Halloween.
  12. Of course it's a mustache, but apparently it has enough likeness to a mouth to create a twilight zone style brickfilm. I mean, just look at this guy. There's no reason for him to have a screaming head, unless he's really unsatisfied with his job.
  13. I just saw it last night, and I must say Wow! That was pretty darn good! Again, I have no clue about the old TV shows and mangas etc, but as a stand-alone movie it was great! I especially liked the character designs and animation. The facial expressions were very emotional. The story could have been a bit more complex for my taste, but its a kids movie after all, and it's totally fine as it is. It was a very fun movie to watch and it would be great to see some MOCs from it! Two  .
  14. Yeah, Republic bases are always more interesting than Separatist ones. I'd go for that.
  15. Well, I'm officially disappointed with Bricktober. The last two deals didn't even involve any bricks at all. If that bag/case was filled with 750 bricks, that would be a different story but like this... Oh well, at least I got some good deals out of it in the first week. $5 for a freakin' Duplo brick?! Are these people insane? Sorry for the rant, but I just really hate TRU, mostly for their ridiculous prices.
  16. I think it was on amazon at some point, and amazon hasn't been wrong so far. Plus, it was listed together with "Lotso's truck", and with rumors of Lotso, the teddybear from UP, being a character in TS3, the list sounds pretty legit. No, these are the final figs, so what you see is what you get. It's details like this that make these figs much better than many people think they are.
  17. I think you're not thinking about it hard enough. Remember, this movie is about Andy giving his toys away, so we'll probably only see his room for only the first 15 minutes of the movie or so. The rest of the movie will take place elsewhere, and I bet the train is something from later on in the movie. I'm not a train fan either, but I'm a Pixar fan, so I'll probably get it anyway. And I happen not to like the look of that toy train, so I hope that my theory is true and that the actual "Western Train" is something much better looking, something more in the style of Emerald Night.
  18. With Halloween only a week away, It's time for some spooky reviews! Set name: Monsters 4 Set #: 3837 Theme: LEGO Games Players: 2-4 Play time: 15-25 mins. Year: 2009 Pieces: 141 Price: EUR 12.99 Let's start with the box. It has the same length and width of other EUR 10+ sets, but it is thicker/higher. It was initially sealed in a clear plastic foil. The back features all the pieces included in the set, some play features, and the description of the game in four different languages: It opens up simply by lifting up the top part of the box, just like any other board game, which is why it was sealed in plastic. A look inside reveals two bags (a small and a large one) and two booklets (building instructions and game instructions). No stickers. Yay. Here are all the parts that come in this set. Nothing special except for the white 1x1 round plates with a hole through the stud, the relatively new brick-high clip pieces, and of course the new die piece. The red part of the die is normal Lego plastic, the rest is rubber. The assembled set. Not much to show here. These are the left over pieces: A robot claw, one of the new round plates, some 1x1 tiles, and... a wrench? What the heck is that doing there? A look into the game manual tells us that they included it as a tool for removing the tiles on the die. Good move, I think. And here are the real stars of this set: the minifig heads! The troll and skeleton ones are the same as those found in the Castle sets, but the others new and exclusive to this set! Every head has a different slight misprint though. Pro: It adds variety to the heads. Con: Some heads look a bit messed up. The only ones that are pretty much flawless are the troll heads. Here are some best and worst print comparisons. Note that the Jack-O-Lantern heads have the pumpkin pattern all around the head! UPDATE: One person told me that he got completely identical heads in his set, so I guess I just got unlucky. As the printing inside the box shows, you can put the game inside the box without having to take it apart. Hi-res pics can be found in this Brickshelf folder. Final Thoughts: Design: Well, it's very simple, but considering that this is a board game, that's probably intended. And as a board game, it does its job pretty well. Also, I think that the spider looks rather cute and is cleverly designed. One little gripe is that the troll heads' color doesn't match their "bodies" and the color on the die. It would have been great if they would have simply printed the troll faces on normal green heads but oh well. 6/10 Parts: As I mentioned above, nothing special aside from the die and the round plates with holes. The plates could come in handy, but the die will probably not have much use aside from a die. This set comes with some neat plates and tiles for landscaping though. But the inclusion of the three exclusive minifig heads (each of which is represented four times!) are a big factor in the purchase of this set! It would have been nice if we would have gotten sand blue vampire heads (such as the one shown on the box art) instead of the old troll heads, but perhaps that would have been too much to ask. 7/10 Playability: This is where this "set" shines, I guess. I have only played the game once so far, but it's pretty fun. It's a mix between Tic Tac Toe and Connect 4, but with some additions. The die tells you what you can do in your turn. If you roll grey or dark grey, you can put or move one of your pieces to a tomb of that color. If you roll half-grey-half-dark-grey, you can put your piece anywhere. If you roll white, you can use a skeleton. The skeletons work as "Joker" pieces, meaning they're stand-ins for any color. If you roll black, you can put the spider in a section of the graveyard (a square of 4 same-colored tombs) and it will clear that section of all pieces. In order to mix things up once in a while, you can change the tiles on the die or make up new rules for them. A very interesting concept IMO. 10/10 Price: I think the price is pretty fair, at least in Euros. Normal sets which cost EUR 10 usually don't have more than 100 pieces, and this set has 141 for EUR 13. And considering the new molds and prints in this set, it seems like a steal. 9/10 Overall: 8/10. Although it looks very simple and doesn't have a lot of special parts, it's a fun game and a neat parts pack for a fair price. Happy Halloween, everyone!
  19. I doubt that some train that appears in some flashback would be turned into a set, but I suppose it's a possibility until proven otherwise.
  20. There already is something like that. @ JimButcher: Can't wait for the YouTube vid! I whipped up a movie poster to go with it:
  21. I agree. You made some great use of sound FX, and the portal looks very, well, portally. (For those who don't know, most of the sound FX were provided by me. ) Thok kinda reminds of Napoleon Dynamite. It would be hilarious if you could add a part in Part 3 where Thok says something like "Those battle droids are idiots! GOSH!" @ Jim: If you think those lines are funny, wait 'til you see the bloopers!
  22. Not only do these not sound like official names, but also, they don't make sense as sets. I mean, what the heck would miners do with a locomotive at the center of the earth? And what would they do with excavators and cranes? I thought the miners are done with mining and are now trying to neutralize the lava monster threat. Also, if we follow the rule of "the higher the set number, the larger the set", the Lava Queen would have to be the largest set. But that would be odd since it would have to be a giant brick-built monster. Who knows, maybe there's some truth in these, but right now I'm rather skeptic.
  23. You know, you could just tell them about the topic via PM. I'm a bit confused now. Should we continue to discuss the videos in here or in the other thread?

  25. I don't know why you created a new topic for this (lack of views isn't a very good reason), or what kind of jedi mind tricks you used on KimT to make him allow this to be posted in the SW forum, but anyway: Wow! This is Awesome! Great job. Your animation skills are clearly improving. The last 40 seconds or so and the part with you slow-motion-flip-kicking the bounty hunter are my favorite parts! But Jim still sounds kinda stupid sometimes. And Thok sounds, uhm, very enthusiastic. This motivates me to get the last voice overs done asap and maybe to do some brickfilms again myself. Btw, why don't you deeplink the first part as well?
