  1. Great. Last time you said that the next contest would start "after a short summer break" which turned out to be 2-3 months. I don't even wanna know how long "a little while" is! Just kidding. Take your time, Kimmy; I can use a break too. Anyway, I think we should have some kind of neat Christmas contest. Contests where you have to "christmasify" a SW vehicle or build a vignette depicting SW characters celebrating Life Day have already been done, so I don't know what kind of contest we could have. Hm... Meditate on this, I will. Also, there is still the "Fate of Ahsoka" Contest which we haven't had yet. Btw, the Battle Pack contest is just called "Star Wars Contest" in the Contest index. Perhaps that could be changed?
  2. I am currently re-playing Jak 2 & 3. Boy, do I love these games! Gameplay, storytelling, and animation are top notch. Naughty Dog makes the best platforming/action games! Can't wait for Uncharted to drop in price. Also, on my PSP, I'm playing Worms: Open Warfare 2 every now and then. I just can't get enough of that game.
  3. Well, although this has already been delayed long enough (for my taste), I guess in order to pair people with similar armies, we need to see everybody's armies before we can start. So yeah, I guess we could do that. But what exactly do you mean by demo game? Or we could just bombard them with PMs until finally post their pics. Btw, isn't Magma's custom Grievous ineligible for the game?
  4. Sure it can. Ever heard of disqualification?
  5. No, it doesn't have the same mechanism. How do I know that? Because the dynamite in this set is the new mold, not the printed 1x2 tiles which were the key for the mechanism in the old Western sets. However, there is a knob on the side of the jail, so there seems to be some other kind of mechanism to blow off the wall.
  6. And trans light blue Ghost Yoda, Obi, and Anakin minifigs!!
  7. Geonosis Arena Battle - a PT equivalent to the Death Star set with loads of minifigs: Obi Wan, Anakin, Padme, R2, 3PO, Dooku, Poggle the Lesser, Jango, Boba, Windu, Fisto, and some other Jedi, geonosians, BDs, and SBDs. The set would have part of the tribunes, the three pillars and beasts (brick-built), and that chariot thing. Create Your Own Podracer - a large set with lots of parts in different colors to create the podracers of your dreams! Includes Watto, Anakin (with new helmet mold), some pit droids and alien pilots. If you buy enough of these, you can recreate all podracers from the Boontha Eve Classic! Pride of the Republic Battle Pack. A Yavin Base sounds good too though, and it would be nice to have a Munificent-class Star Frigate to go with the Venator.
  8. I have an idea, but I'm not sure how good it will look. I would take 1x3 and a 2x3 and put them together so that they form a 3x3 plate. Next, I would put a 1x1 plate on the center stud and then put cheese slopes on 2 adjacent sides of the 1x1 plate in a way that they form the inside corner shape you are going for. Behind those cheese slopes, I would then put two layers of plates along the edge of the base, each made up of one 1x3 and one 1x2 plate. The final result would look like this: It may look a little rough, but it's better than just using bricks. Hope that helped. Btw, this looks very nice for a first MOC.
  9. From the Clone Conflict thread, this is how much my CIS army has gown since I last posted it, excluding airborne vehicles:
  10. IA 2?! Or maybe for a custom Hulk fig? What does the color/kind of the pieces have to do with the price?
  11. At last, I have managed to gather my entire current army and take a pic! Behold! My mighty CIS army! (pic is link to BS gallery with more pics. Check the last few pics. ) Grievous (with Lightsaber and pistol), Dooku (w/ LS), Palpy (w/ LS), and Gunray (with pistol) 65 BDs (63 with rifles, 2 with snipers) 5 Pilot BDs with pistols 4 Security BDs with snipers 3 Rocket BDs with snipers 2 Commander BDs with rifles 14 SBDs 3 HSBDs 3 Assassin Droids with snipers 2 Assassin Droid Elites with snipers 2 Droidekas 1 Dwarf Spider Droid 1 MTT 1 AAT 1 HSD 1 Hailfire 1 Assassin Droid Bike 1 com. transport 1 Bloodfin 2 Snail tanks 2 Dooku's speederbike 4 droid transports 6 STAPs And since I always need to ask questions here are some more (although I think I already know the answer to them): Some units can be moved in groups. Does this mean they can be unloaded in groups too? Heroes can be revived too, right? If you have two Elite Assassin Droids on the A.D. Bike, does the bike gain 1 or 2 Defense? Why does the little Transport from the AAT not have any function? An idea for pedro's problem: If he still has all the instruction booklets of the sets he owns, couldn't he maybe just take a pic of those and post it? Nice army. I guess you outdid me. But I don't think those megaphones are allowed as weapons. So, if you do decide to play as CIS and take a pic of your vehicles, you better make another one of your army with the correct weapons as well, or else you'll be screwed.
  12. Hehe, that would be pretty cool actually. Lol. I can already see the trailer: "In a world... of corruption... one caterpillar... does not play by the rules... and he is hungry... FOR JUSTICE!!"
  13. I think it would be great if there was a Lego game in the style of ADHO15's Clone Conflict! For those who don't know, it's like Galactic Battlegrounds, but with Lego vehicles and minifigs. They could have could have both CW and OT battles and many locations/maps to choose from. It would have to be a game for the PC with quality graphics though, not something as cruddy as Lego Battles.
  14. Well, I have decided for my costume. All Clone Wars haters may hate me now, because I'm going as CW Obi Wan! Fitting, no? Yup, they do. This one and this one (the one I was considering to get). And I don't think they have the old ones anymore. Would be kinda cool if somebody would go as Zombie Michael Jackson. I would do it, but I'm too chubby to be him.
  15. So just copy the text then and upload the pics to BS or something and copy them into the copied text. I got the file, thanks. It's very helpful! But I'm getting a circular reference warning message. What's that about? And why did you sum up the numbers anyway? Lol. I'm guessing that most of the battle on the Kashyyk map will take place on that thin piece of land below the water. And that map looks like it was heavily inspired by Battlefront II.
  16. Yay! I did not expect to get this far! Thanks to all who voted for me, and congrats to the other winners! Also, good job to everyone else. You guys made it quite tough for me and pedro to win this time. Sorry, Mos Eisley, but I'm not very interested in that keychain, so I'm gonna go with the EB stormie. I hope that's OK. Thanks to KimT again for this great contest and the prizes! @ Pi: I have one, and this will be my second one. I think I'll start building an EB battalion. I wish I could trade it, but I agreed not to.
  17. But the initial word document with the rules isn't. I know it's a very long text, but at least people would know the rules without having to give you their email. And yes, I'd like the stats sheet please. I hope you still have my email address? I wont get around to take pics of my army until Tuesday, but then I will try to post it asap as well.
  18. That's nothing. Look at Ambush in Cairo: $14.99!! That's almost a 40% mark-up! And Chauchilla Cemetery Battle and Crystal King aren't much better at $24.99, a 25% mark-up. Anyway, the Bricktober deal this week is even less attractive than the last one (to me): FREE Bionicle Encyclopedia ($20 value) with ANY LEGO Building Set purchase of $35 or more. I just hope that Bricktober goes out with a bang with some good sets on discount like in the first week.
  19. I'm guessing that he gave most of those toys to his baby sister as those are toddler toys/girl toys anyway. The army Men are probably in their own bucket somewhere else in his room, maybe under the bed. I think it would have been too much if Andy's entire toy collection would have been the cast of this movie. I can already see some interesting Jessie-Buzz relationship moments coming in this movie. Now that Buzz acts like a spanish tango dancer, Jessie will probably be even more attracted to him. Just look at the sparkle in her eyes when she hears him say "Buzz Lightyear to the rescue" in Spanish! EDIT: Btw, did you guys notice that Buzz's batteries are from Buy' N' Large?
  20. *Imitates a clone trooper* Yes, Sir! BUT I still have some more questions (Will I ever stop? ): Can vehicles and/or units attack sideways? Can units move diagonally or backwards? Who decides the formation of the vehicles at the beginning of the game? How is the stats sheet coming? When will you send out the updated rules?
  21. We also have official set numbers and names: * 7590 Woody and Buzz Rescue * 7591 Construct-A-Zurg * 7592 Construct-A-Buzz * 7593 Buzz’s Star Command Spaceship * 7594 Woody’s Round-Up * 7595 Army Men on Patrol Why? What's wrong with them? I think they are perfect. For Zurg, yes, but for Buzz it's a fair price I think, considering the new molds and the fact that it's licensed.
  22. I see. Thanks, Jim. Here are some more Qs: Which vehicles take up more than one space/can move diagonally/can attack diagonally? How does unloading units work? Can you only unload up to five units per turn or can you empty the entire vehicle with one part of your turn? And where do the units go when unloaded? The rules state that some vehicles such as the AT-TE have a different RA in front and back. What do you define as "front" and "back"? And can you somehow turn the vehicle around to make the larger RA affect a different direction?
  23. That wasn't my point. The point I was trying to make is that it is apparently not made for children, which is rather strange. But maybe the makers of the movie already expected that such a sentimental movie wouldn't go well with today's kids. Again, I wasn't saying the movie is bad, I was just telling what kind of vibe it is giving me. And my instincts are usually right.
  24. Well, the subtitle of this topic seemed imply that this poll is only for the people who wont buy this just because it has a Toy Story label on it. I, however, am the exact opposite of that. I have all of the old WW sets and I don't like 'em very much, but I will definitely get this set because I'm a huge Pixar fan. So if it's OK, I'll vote for the first option. Anybody surprised? *nobody raises hand* OK then.
  25. Well, having grown up in Germany, I have never heard of the book, and the trailers make the movie look REALLY boring. Just the kind of boring sentimental crap critics tend to praise. And an article I read today (this one) confirmed this when it said that it is too "uninvolving" for kids and some adults. Also, it's rated PG. If you're gonna make an adaption of a children book, why not make it for kids? Those are just my impressions of it. Some people who read the book as a kid will go see it and probably even like it, but I sure wont.
