  1. I am astound and disappointed at the same time. Considering this MOC is in the Licensed forum, I thought it would be based on the Indiana Jones story. But for what it is, it's a great MOC! The minifigs look great and very Atlantian, and it has some nice techniques.
  2. That choice was to destroy an infinity of planets, and he wanted to do it. How does that make him a hero? Anyway, I agree, owlman was better than Bats in this one. I liked this philosophical version of him much better than the silly thug-like version from BTBTB. Speaking of BTBTB, it was cool how Bats called in some of the heroes from that show. It was almost like a reference to that show, and it felt good to know all their backstories. And, of course, it was awesome to see the Flash make a Star Wars reference. By the way, what exactly did Bats mean when he said "We both stared into the abyss, but when it looked back, you blinked"?
  3. Indeed, that was a nice bit. I think the upcoming 4D movie/attraction at Legoland will be a sequel, but it looks like it will mainly just take place in Lego City. They already made an Atlantis movie, so even if there was a real sequel to this, there wouldn't be many current themes left for them to cover. Therefore, I don't think there will be a sequel, at least not for a few years. In case you haven't heard of the attraction, here is the teaser: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">By the way, did anyone take a close look at the City scenes in the movie? I know the Green Grocer is a great set, but did it have to be every second building in the whole friggin city? Just 3D modelers being lazy, I guess.
  4. Wow, thanks legomaster! That mechanism is better than I thought. The way the green fire pops up when you activate it is very clever and looks just like in the movie! For all those lazys out there, I've embeded the vid for you: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
  5. I thought the 'A' stands for Artie. Anyway, I really think Lego should pick up the Batman license again by making a line based on the TV show "Batman: The Brave and the Bold". It would satisfy all the people who missed out on Batman sets due to the abrupt cancellation of the line and would give us tons of new characters from the DC universe along with sets based around them. Just imagine a Batmech set!
  6. Well, the movie arrived from Netflix today, so I watched it, and it was great. Bad puns galore, but otherwise very fun and cute, and just the way Legos come to life in my mind when I play with them! I might actually buy this some day. I'd definitely like Peg's hair piece and Prince Varen's crown in a set at some point. The only sad thing about the movie is that the fact that most of the movie took place in the Fantasy Era Castle world is Lego's last hurrah for this great theme, just like what videogames have been for certain licensed themes. You will be missed, trolls and skellies. Well, it's a Lego movie. What did you expect? As someone has already said: In a way, it's just a big commercial. Yeah, I agree. I would have expected more of a Canadian accent myself. Oh well.
  7. I saw this at the store today. It's $15 (which is okay IMO) and is quite nice. That's true, but it's not really intended for those anyway. Judging from the cover art, it's meant for the Vintage Minifig Collections, which makes sense because those always come with 5 figs. LOL, true. Yes, they're 6x4, but each wall almost completely covers up one row of 4 studs, so there's really only space for one fig.
  8. Thanks for the news, Inky! The news just keep rolling in this weekend. You're right, but then again, the previous version was pretty spot-on to begin with. It's just not a very complex vehicle to recreate. While I like the improvements that have been done (the cockpit and wing turret), I can't help but feel that they are just rehashing the first minis for promotionals like this. Would be nice to see something new once in a while.
  9. Yes, this is BEYOSOME! Star Wars + Floating Rocks = Win! I laughed so hard when I saw this on the Frontpage! It's so clever and well executed! I would have preferred your Dark Father fig instead of the Black Knight, but oh well. I love all the little details (such as the troll representing chewie) and the fact that the death ray is simply a big catapult here. Very good job on this! @ JimButcher: The Treasure Room represents the hangar of the Death Star. Therefore, I assume this is where the dragon sleeps. Makes sense to store treasure there since the dragon will guard it, and there isn't really a medieval counterpart of a control room anyway.
  10. What he said. Keep in mind, though, that they are not exactly the same figs. One of the Senate Commandos in Bane's Speeder is a Captain, and the magnet set figs have the lower quality plastic.
  11. Hehe, alright, I'll watch it soon. Yesterday I watched Flawless. A nice heist flick. Nothing too special, but nice, with some good acting. Today I watched Justice League: Crisis on two Earths. This was actually pretty cool! I quite liked it. All of the heroes got their spotlight and the fights were very good. Interesting story too, even though there weren't really any unexpected twists. Definitely one of the best Superhero cartoons out there.
  12. Me too, at least one of them.
  13. Since no one seems to have bothered posting them, here are the two new keychains: Too bad the miner doesn't come with armor. That would have been a nice way of acquiring some. I guess BL is still the best way of getting one. At least it comes with the visor. But then again, that one is probably glued...
  14. Ah, thanks. I like my new idea much better anyway.
  15. I don't know why you didn't answer my question again, but I think I will go with a different idea, so there's no need to answer it now. I would still appreciate it if you would, just in case. That's what she said.
  16. Well what do you know - there IS a keychain with an LGM!
  17. Sorry to say this, but your review made me want this set less than before. I thought the white parts were grey and that all the red parts were dark red. I hate it when TLG uses white instead of grey and mixes red with dark red. This doesn't look very good or accurate at all, color-wise. Pity, since the shape is spot-on. I guess one could always mod it, but since I can't even seem to be able to find these promos, I probably wont get this. Thanks for the great review though.
  18. Sorry, but I don't see any resemblance at all (except for the color scheme of course). The 2010 sets are already being discussed in the appropriate topic, and the base doesn't have much to do with this topic, so I think this revival was kinda pointless.
  19. Hm... Maybe I was just lucky then? Because two out of four keychains that I have (Harley Quin & CW Obi Wan) seem to be normal quality whereas the other two (shark warrior & chrome gold minifig) have the low-quality marks under their arms. You can check out this wiki page to see all of its appearances. If that's all you're after, why not just get two magnet sets? Much cheaper than the Compactor. Also, both Build-a-Buzz and Build-a-Zurg have one, and together they are the same price as the Compactor. But if you're just talking about getting two in a single set, then yes, the Compactor is the only way to go. Keep in mind, everybody, that the keychain chains might be hard to remove on these due to the size their heads. I kinda hope they'll make an LGM keychain at some point. That would be neat. Btw, Buttercup minifig anyone?
  20. I don't recall there being a Ghostbusters license, so I'd say this in the wrong place. Pretty cool vignette though. The figs and "flying" kitchen stuff is great, but the kitchen scene itself seems to be lacking a little. The dark grey gives it a nice spooky feel, but the wall is just too plain. A window and/or a crooked shelf would help.
  21. The alarm clocks still need to be added to the gallery. If you must know, I think he's supposed to sit on the tan piece seen in the pic below. Why would think there's no place for him to sit? About the windshield, yes, I agree, trans-dark-brown looked better, but it's not too bad.
  22. Well, looks like Lego is releasing an official Minifig display case: Looks like it's taking up a lot of space for just 15 minifigs, but it's good to look at, easy to use, and probably keeps your figs safe for quite some time. Maybe you can just use it for your most favorite figs.
  23. Well, without a pic, I have a hard time imagining what you mean. Do you mean something like the things in Avatar? That would be too sci-fi, I think. Kind of, but it's really just exactly what I said; a rowboat with wings (surf sails) attached to it. The problem with that is that I only have one of those "soccer chairs". I guess I'll use either Pirate cannons or the skyblaster. Way to be graphic. But I'm afraid simply bumping the topic and posting a random image isn't going to spawn more activity in this Community Build. That image wont do us any good since those are both ground vehicles, and in the Steam Empire world, there's not much ground to speak of. Are they trying to bring down that mech by throwing banana peals in its way? Not bad, I like 'em. The only thing I don't like is the mix of yellow and fleshie figs. Since this is supposed to be a non-licensed theme, the figs should all be yellow. Perhaps together they could form the $30 set?
  24. Does it fit into a lightsaber hilt or minifig hand? If so, it could be useful, I guess...
  25. Well, magnet figs tend to be the cheap China plastic, but since Woody is always Made In China anyway, you wont notice any difference on him, but Buzz and the LGM might be different since they come in the good quality in the sets, at least their bodies do. Keychain figs on the other hand are usually the same quality as their set counterparts, but their torso is usually glued to the hips. Not to mention the big hole in the head and neck that remains when you pull out the chain.
