Yay! Thanks for taking the time, I appreciate it. I like the first one better; the second one makes me look kinda fat. Welcome back indeed!

Yes, the gorilla will be a much better way of acquiring bananas, especially if it comes with a spare. -

I hope the mummy has arm and leg side printing. That would be a huge improvement from previous mummies. -
The Penguin's Batman Minifigures. )

Liked it? I love it! Bruce Lee Wayne in training clothes looks great, but I'm not sure about that hairpiece on Robin. Barriss' torso looks good on Catwoman; those little things on the belt buckle look like cat eyes in this combination, which is neat. Scarecrow looks pretty accurate and very scary and the Freeze henchmen are just hilarious (though you are right about the numbers; simply covering them up would do the trick me thinks)! Joker's new henchies are good too, although I like your previous versions better. I wish the official mime came with an angry face. Have you considered using the grinning face for a Joker victim? Anyway, I don't really like the Joker himself. He just looks too creepy and too un-lego-like. But Ivy certainly takes the cake in this collection! Her hair is perfect, and all the other details on her body make her even better! Great job on that one! I think you just convinced me to get the Series 2 Which. Nice to see you're back at making these and I can't wait to see more! To the Okymobile! -
Sorry. But someone had to say it.

The question is when and in what area were they sold? I've never seen them around here.

When and what will the next themed month be?
Oky replied to Joey Lock's topic in Forum Information and Help
I see, so like a "What If" kind of contest. Interesting idea, but I'd still prefer a Build-a-Scene contest. Another idea would be a "Whacking Snape" contest. Build a scene showing Hogwarts students pulling pranks on the least popular teacher of the school. As for other possible theme months, how about a Ninja Month? I mean, who doesn't like ninjas? We could have it tie in with the release of NinjaGo. There are possibilities for both serious and humorous contests, such as "Build an epic battle scene between ninjas" or "Show ninjas in alternate professions". -
Thanks again, everyone. I tried making the crawl as requested, but it didn't turn out so well, but if you want, you can copy and paste the prologue into the Crawl Creator on StarWars.com to see how it would look like. I tried preparing it for you, but it just links to a blank version of the crawl creator when you want to share it. Sorry. Thanks. But the hat would have looked silly, so I left it off. The part of the cape that goes over the ears is already supposed to be the hood. Hehe, thanks, it took a while for me to figure out a good parallel to "planet of Hoth". Haha, nice Family Guy reference! That would have been a possibility too, I guess, but like KielDaMan said, I went mostly by physical appearance in my version. Plus there's the whole "No, Buzz, I am your father" thing from Toy Story 2 which was partly my inspiration for making this. I am sorry you hated it that much (that's what 0/10 means to me). Hehe, nice idea, but no, that's it for Toy Wars for now. However, something similar is on its way.

I must agree with CMP and C-bug here. This doesn't seem much like a SP vehicle. There's no reason for the SP to have such a large cannon, and the centipede look of it reminds more of Insectoids. I also agree that this looks kinda like just a bunch of <insert that tiresome argument> pieces slapped together, but that doesn't bother me too much since that's basically what a lot of official sets are these days, and it makes for a nice and smooth looking MOC.

Keep in mind that this is brickipedia; it's not confirming anything. A trading card game alongside the NinjaGo one seems unlikely to me too.

Well, of course she looks terrible, she is comprised of only a few pixels! But what's wrong with the clones?
-
When has there ever been a set release tied to a DVD release? Just face it, dude, it's not gonna happen, at least not anytime soon. If this sequel does well and Disney goes ahead with their plans of a third movie, then maybe, but not before that.

Well, excluding droids, there are 27 minifigs this year that haven't been made into magnets yet, so I think it's safe to say it's a 27:1 chance. How is that for a Threepio-style answer? -

Yeah, thanks KimT! Do you have instructions for the other CubeDudes as well? That wasn't the Invisible Hand, that was the Malevolence. There has not been an Invisible Hand yet, and we don't know if there will be. If there was any information about that, it would be in the rumors thread. -
Perhaps, but since it's her ship, she is the most important character in this set, and the box shows a minifig with her top printed on the torso, which is just as much proof as Cato's mask if you ask me. Indeed you are, but you are absolutely correct about yourself.

That's what I said.

It's the kind of thin pistol that bounty hunters have. I bet Bane will have the same mold in future sets if he is ever released again. Aren't they just gonna be a cameo appearance in one of the episodes? I doubt they'll be popular because of that, but given the popularity of the videogame, we still might see them in a future set, I guess. That wouldn't make sense. It's Sugi's ship after all. It shows (and reads, sorta) Sugi on the box, and they also wrote Sugi in the minifig line-up, it's just the wrong picture, so that's who we'll get.

Thanks. Hehe, I thought such a confusion might happen. Oh well. I didn't really base it on any canon species. I just wanted to have a cool-looking, skull-headed driver. But sure, why not. Wrong. The stickers are from 8897 Jagged Jaws Reef and the piece at the front of the cockpit is from 4582 Red Bullet. I found it while searching for printed parts that would match the color scheme of the stickers and it happened to miraculously fit perfectly in front of that hood sticker. By the way, could a mod please add "MOC:" in front of the title?

My entry for the Military Podracer guild build on CABG. The Death Pod, also known as the "Podracer of Doom" and "The Racing Death", was a kind of military podracer built by a barbaric skeleton-like race in order to protect their planet from invasion during the Clone Wars. It was feared in many systems. Based on the engine design of Mawhonic's powerful GPE-3130 and the aerodynamic cockpit design of Anakin Skywalker's podracer, it was pretty fast for a podracer of its size. The small side turbines were swapped for heavy Gatling guns and turbo lasers were added on top of the engines. Also, the protective grates in front of the large turbines were removed and spikes were added in their place to allow enemies to get chopped up when getting run over by the pod. The cockpit featured two twin blasters, two missiles, and a tank full of napalm that could be dropped in order to get rid of unwanted tailgaters. Here it is without the background and special effects: A back view: Wouldn't you be scared megablokless seeing something like this coming toward you? A top view shows that the creators of the Death Pod believed that racing stripes do increase the speed of a vehicle: A close-up of the cockpit: This is the proud driver of this killing machine: You can find more pics in this brickshelf folder.

Sweet! Those sets are looking great! I'm deeply disappointed that there are two bomb squad troopers instead of two commandos or ARFs, but there's always trading I guess. And I really hope that all the Mandos have jetpacks. They just have to. The new pistols are neat though. The new Jar Jar looks good, and I'm happy to see the return of the printed BD pilot. I probably still wont get this set though. Neither am I interested in the V-Wing as it seems to be EU. But the Bounty Hunter Gunship and T6 are amazing, both design and minifig-wise! Total must-buys! Even the assassin droid is exciting due to its new, more accurate head. I hope they change Embo's epaulettes to a more accurate shoulder piece in the final version, but I'm not holding my breath. The Sugi/Cato thing is indeed confusing, but I'm pretty sure we'll get Sugi in this set and Cato Parasiti in a later set, which is great. Saesee and Shaak look a bit strange in their prelim state, but not bad. Can't wait for 2011!

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Oky replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Uh... no, he's talking about LSW3, the game that's being discussed in this thread. And LSW3 was at E3. Where do you think all the reviews from before CV were coming from? -
I think in the cartoon, they intentionally amped up the force powers of all jedi for the sake of epicness, so I don't think it's much to go by. The movies are as always the primary reference, but since the CG series is canon as well, I guess it counts too. And in Windu's defense, he did know it was a trap, but I guess he just didn't know what to expect. Plus he took out a bunch of droids with ease in Liberty on Ryloth as well. What does the OT have to do with any of this? Yeah, that's what I'm assuming as well. There's no way Cut could establish a family with kids in 1-2 years. Unless the kids age as fast as him, but I think you need Kaminoan technology for that.

What's that smell? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Jessie, Buzz, Lotso, and Twitch in the Toy Story 3 Garbage Truck! And boy, are they dirty! However, neither their smell nor their looks shall keep me from reviewing this Toys'R'Us exclusive! To the junkyard, and beyond! Set Number: 7599 Name: Garbage Truck Getaway Theme: Toy Story Year of Release: 2010 Pieces: 402 Minifigs: 4 (including Lotso) Price: $49.99 USD S@H description: Jessie and Buzz are trapped in a big garbage truck and on their way to the dump! Can they escape the clutches of Lotso and Twitch before they suffer a smelly fate? Includes Buzz, Jessie, Twitch and Lotso minifigures Garbage Truck measures 8.5'' (22cm) long and 5'' (13cm) high! Lift the dumpster and empty it into the truck! Truck hopper opens as dumpster is lifted over the top! Brickset BrickLink Brickshelf The Box The box has the usual white Toy Story 3 design, with an image of Sunnyside Daycare in the background, and the two heroes in this set (Jessie & Buzz) in the lower left corner. Unlike any other Toy Story box, however, it has highlighted image of the Twitch minifig which is exclusive to this set in the lower right corner, along with a "limited edition" tag. The top shows a 1:1 scale line-up of all the figs in this set while the left side features the Limited Edition tag in two other languages. On the back, there's another, larger minifig line-up with names, and three images showcasing the play features of the truck. Contents Inside the box you'll find two instruction booklets, three numbered parts bags, and a string of what Svelte calls "China Baggies" with the parts for Lotso, Jessie, Twitch's head, and Buzz's head and jetpack. Here is a random instruction page. Sometimes it was hard differentiating the black from the dark bley, but since most of the pieces were represented in only one color, that was OK, and the rest was pretty clear. The most notable parts in this set are the dark green plates, panels, and slopes, the trans-black 3x10x3 windscreen, 1x3 tiles in white and dark bley, a black, printed 2x4 tile, and the old technic skis in black. The minifigs Here they are prior to assembly. Buzz and Twitch's torso and legs came out of Bag 1 and are made of good quality plastic. While Buzz's legs have a new dirt pattern, his torso is the same, as are his wings and helmet. Twitch's antennas are rubbery and separate from his head which is hard ABS. Twitch's antennas fit into other headgear as well. Clone: "Do these antennas make me look fat?" Lotso is the same as in the Trash Compactor escape set and therefore not too impressive, but Twitch is a great fig, even though his chest seems a bit small compared to his movie counterpart. Also, he unfortunately doesn't come with his "signature magical battle staff". There is a gap between his wings and his torso so that he can be seated in the driver's chair of the truck. Unlike Lotso, he doesn't have back printing, but that's OK since his wings cover most of his back anyway. Here's a reference pic: Next up we have our hero couple, Buzz and Jessie. Both have a worried expression on their face and dirt all over their body which is very fitting for this scene. Jessie even has dirt prints on her arms! This is the only set in which Jessie has a back print! Even Buzz has dirt patterns on the back of his jetpack! So much detail on these figs! The Build You start by building the dumpster. It's a quick and slightly repetitive build. It's not very accurate either as I recall the one in the movie to have been green and having a lid. It has wheels at the bottom so you can roll it around. Then you build the chassis of the truck. Here it is after bag 1: After bag 2, the driver's cabin is done. The last bag is all about constructing the garbage compartment and forks. This is the finished model: I don't have a reference pic from the movie (that particular scene was very dark anyway), but the movie version was heavily based on real American garbage trucks, so if you compare the set with the image below, you'll see it's pretty authentic. It looks very nice and imposing from the front. I really like the license plate and the use of textured bricks. It's very long, too, as you can see in this side view. Note all the SNOTed tiles. The red and white stripes could have easily been stickers, but they decided to use tiles instead which is great. It's a bit plain in the back, although there is still a decent amount of detail. This is due to functionality, which we'll get to soon. If you look at it from the top, you can see that it is over 14 studs wide! This is likely the widest minifig-scale vehicle to date! Spare Parts There are several small spare parts in this set, including cheese slopes, studs, and technic pins. If you want, you can put them into the dumpster to substitute garbage. Play Features The windshield can swing up in order to seat a driver inside which is pretty neat. Unfortunately, there's no interior to speak of aside from two chairs. What's the point of having a driver inside the cabin if there's no steering wheel? The back opens up as well. There's nothing inside, but that's how it's supposed to be. Then there's the main mechanism. First, you insert the fork into the slots on the dumpster by pulling the truck forward. This can be a bit tricky as you will just push the dumpster forward if you don't approach it form the right angle. Next, you turn the wheel on the side to lift the dumpster up. Lotso seems to enjoy it. As the dumpster reaches the top, the lid of the garbage compartment gets opened, and the dumpster falls back, dumping its contents into the opening. Genius! Lastly, you can open the back as shown before, tilt up the entire garbage container, and dump out the figs. Buzz and Jessie are free at last! Yay! Ratings Design: 4.5/5 - It's very nice and authentic, and the license plate is a nice detail! Like most Toy Story vehicles, it's completely underscaled, and the lack of interior is disappointing, but otherwise it's great! Build: 4/5 - Very enjoyable. There's a nice variety of technic, system, snot and other techniques. Nothing extraordinary though. Minifigs: 5/5 - Twitch is an awesome fig, and the "dirty" versions of Lotso, Buzz, and Jessie are highly detailed. One might argue that there should have been dirty versions of the other toys too, but since we already get those in Trash Compactor Escape, that's OK, and considering that Twitch was barely involved in this scene, his inclusion makes up for it. Playability: 5/5 - Everything you could expect from a garbage truck. You can spend hours repeatedly putting stuff into the dumpster, emptying it into the truck, driving it somewhere, and dumping it all out without getting bored. Parts: 4.5/5 - A bunch of parts in exclusive colors, including the lovely dark green, and a printed tile rather than a stickered one make this a pretty good parts selection. Price: 4/5 - This set has the same amount of figs as the Pizza Planet Truck for $10 more, but nearly twice as many parts, so I'd say it's not a bad price for a limited edition licensed set with exclusive figs. Overall: 5/5 - This is certainly one of the best sets out of the Toy Story line. The figs are awesome, and the set is very authentic and playable. It's hardly compatible with City due to its width though. Sure, it's terribly underscaled, but it would be hard to play with if it was any larger. This should not be missing in any Toy Story collection! I hope you enjoyed my tenth Toy Story review (which has earned me the silver badge!). Only six more to go! You can find hi-res versions of all the pics in this brickshelf folder. Parting shot: Taking out the Trash With the Toy Story garbage truck, you can finally get rid of unwanted items!
