These sets look better than I feared, although they're not as great as they could have been. I'm just glad to have Adventurers back, and a Sphinx that turns into a mech is still a whole lot better than one with a stupid ejector-seat in my book. Even though this does seem like Atlantis-in-Egypt, I think the idea of statues that come to live is pretty neat. Race for the Golden Staff and Duel in the Air are definitely my favorites, and I'll likely get multiples. I might get the Cursed Cobra too, depending on the price. I don't get the complaint about the guns though. The first Adventurers sets had lots of them too, even on the Bi-planes. So what if one or two more vehicles have one gun mounted on them?
-
Yes, that would be a BIG problem, but like indianajones said, they seem capable of holding things, so this should be a good addition to good ol' Krabs, even though they might be a bit big for the little guy. Yeah, I think you're right; it doesn't really feel "crabby" to me either, more "lobsterish". And if there's anything better than Crab People, it's Lobster people! I have enhanced the pics with Photoshop using the "Auto" functions (I can really recommend you to do the same!), and yes, I'm pretty sure it's just part of the back/headpiece. Anyone else irked by the switch from lime to yellow? I don't like it since it just went from my favorite color to my least favorite color, and then there's the issue of bare-looking arms. The new leg prints are indeed nice though. Blacktron fans should be happy next year though.

The STAP, yes, but I've never seen a two-seat BARC Speeder with gun emplacement in the back.
-
I second those emotions. The new arms aren't Grievous', but they're similar to them in having bars as bones. I'm very glad they made these because they are much more versatile and look much better on skeletons than droid arms. I don't think the retailer catalog mentioned it (why would it?), but yeah, it's been mentioned before. I was wondering that too, but I don't think there is one. If there was, they would show it, and besides, I don't think the kind of force a launcher would give to these tops is necessary here. Remember, the (likely) point of this game is to knock the minifigs off the tops, and if they would be spinning at the speed of a Beyblade, it would just tear the minifigs apart on contact. There are no "teeth" on the side of tops for launcher to create friction either. Therefore, I think you just spin them like you would spin a normal top, or a coin.

Wow indeed! This looks like it could be one of the best movies ever! Of course I'm gonna try not to get my hopes up too high, but this looks VERY promising! Can't wait! Hehehe, Hermione-Harry looks so weird! EDIT: Or is it Fleur? Seems more like her kind of wardrobe. But then who's Hermione?

I don't think I understand. Why don't you have all the matches (aka. Games) of Round 1 at the same time? That way we'll all be done around the same time and could move on to Round 2 together. You do realize the size of the army you're up against, don't you? I know, "size matters not", but still. Nothing personal.

That's exactly what OT fans said after Episode I, II, and III were released, and everything turned out fine. -

It's posted now! It's toward the end. If you can't see it, you can watch it on mastertoons (where you can also find CW episodes). -
Why would TLC design a product badly on purpose? I think you guys are either exaggerating or simply have a wrong image of a BARC speeder in your mind. I think you should compare it with some reference pics. BARC speeders are blocky, so TLG did a pretty good job on it, I think. At least it's much better than the one from the old CTT.

Aren't those just black sausages? Burned sausage anyone? No, I think he's talking about the ones front of it between the two Exo Force robot arms.
-
Because it wouldn't make sense to produce weak magnetic feet if normal minifig feet will do the same work, duh! Besides, didn't TLC say they wont use magnets anymore? These half-minifig-half-skeleton legs will be great for zombie mocs. Seriously, dude, you should start reading the threads in which you post. Aside from the quote above, what pictures do you think we were discussing for the last few pages?

Well, I can't say I like these sets, but I don't hate them either. As some have already said, these look like they came straight out of a bad Saturday morning cartoon, and they don't seem overly well designed. There's some nice Japanese architecture though, and I love the new short chains and tri-blade throwing stars. Perhaps I'll get Ninja Ambush, Skeleton Chopper, and some of the minifigs, but that's it. I don't think we have any official word on that yet, but the fact that each one of them has its own item number makes me hopeful that there will be some way of knowing what you get. LOL, yeah, I suppose they do look like good ol' Jack. In fact, I think I'll make a custom fig of him when I get one of these. If that's the objective of the game (which I'm pretty sure it is), wouldn't it be counter-productive for the figs to be stuck on the spinners via magnets? I think they're just figs standing on studs.

Never mind. I just remembered the portal emperor's armor has that unique speckled color, not gold. Oh well, it will still be good to have.
-
Ah! So even though we may not be getting the portal emperor in any other set, at least we get his armor. That's great for people like me who bought the keychain of him and removed the chain because now we'll be able to switch the helmet with the gap with the real one from one of these more affordable sets. Doesn't the Walker come with any armor piece or key?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion

Yes. According to wikipedia, "A cyborg, also known as a cybernetic organism, is a being with both biological and artificial (e.g. electronic, mechanical or robotic) parts". Is that good enough for ya? Seriously, I don't get all the hate for this guy (except from Klaus, that was expected ). He's a pretty neat fig to me, and I would have thought people would be stoked to get a new, detailed blacktron fig after everyone geeked out about Rench from SP3 having a blacktron torso. But calling him a space pirate is an interesting idea since that's basically what Blacktrons are. -
Move Count Dooku's Speederbike from E11 to F8. Assassin Droid Bike 1: Unload Assassin Droid Elite. STAP from I20 to I18. Move Snail Tank from J13 to J12. Move Hailfire from S/T11 to S/T9.

This is a tough one as every answer is a good one. These sets are very good for extraordinary parts, but there are many other themes that are too. They are also very well designed, with all the hidden compartments and play features and whatnot, but other themes have those too. And there's no doubt they are a source of great, useful minifigs. However, what really differentiates Harry Potter from other themes is the incredibly epic and well thought out story that it is based on, with that mysterious magical world full of lovable, deep, relateable characters. Therefore, I voted that I am a huge fan of the movies. But as I said, "all of the above" would have been the best answer, and that's why we need a Harry Potter month!
-
Neat. So, do the creations have to have the same theme as one of the HF villains, or can it be any kind of evil creation?
-
Yeah, they used to do that for a while in their commercials. It made no sense, but it was a neat theme.
-
This is still missing from the index too, I believe.

Hello there. I just saw these over at the Lego website and thought it was time for an update. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8hJTzikojA By the way, how about linking to this thread in the main index?

You know, I did consider going as Buzz Lightyear for last Halloween... But the costume didn't look very good on me, which is why I stuck to my namesake (see my Personal Picture). By the way, if you want even more Oky VS. Jammie fun, check out our profile statuses. And yes, we're waiting, Jammie.

Happy Birthday, you two! May you have a nice day with your loved ones, and lots of frozen treats! And may the force be with you!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion

I wouldn't mind a candy cane piece actually. But of course it wouldn't fit with this kind of elf. Perhaps, in a future series, we could get a "Santa's helper" minifig? Maybe even a new Santa to go along with, with the Angler's beard and a new Santa hat? But I'm getting off topic... -
World Racers Summer 2010
Oky replied to The Green Brick Giant's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I found 30032 World Race Buggy in the Halloween section at Target, next to the collectable Minifigs. It was $2.99, I think. Unfortunately no trace of 30031 though. I'll make a review soon.
