Wow, two weeks with no comments? Lets change that real quick! It's not a total disaster, I just simply don't get it. Love the Insubordination one, JVD! Alright, time to breath some new life into this thread! And what better way to do so than with the deliciously shiny TC-14? This one shows the real reason why the Separatists kept an all-chrome droid around. Thanks again, guys! And yes, the lining up of Anakin's and Vader's head was intentional. Some good ideas here, but I can't execute most of them because I don't have the required figs. I'll see what I can do, but for now, you can see more light/dark comparisons here. Yeah, it's a great fig, isn't it? I hope they'll make a non-evil/angry version of that head soon. Anyway, here's a shot I made of that creepy head: Evil Eye by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr It's a recreation of this image:

Indeed, nice work, Masked! Most of you have probably seen my light & dark side comparison shots over in the Star Wars Photography thread. Well, I figured that this could be done with other licensed figs as well! Light & Dark Knight by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr The Dark Side of the Potter by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr

Thanks! Alright, here's the (probably) last batch! First, a Geonosian before and after life. Get it? It says Summer 2012 on it, so I'm guessing it's one of those dummy boxes they put up in videogame stores. It was probably designed before the official images of Robin and the box were released. And yes, those AC style promo images are really badass! They almost make up for the disappointing screenshots we've seen lately.

The blue hips are excusable since those are actually more accurate, but it's the blue torso that bugs me. Spidey having blue shoulders just seems wrong. And it's too bad that they couldn't spring for some leg printing for him. If they would have given him red boots he would look much better, and they could use those legs for Superman as well. Oh well.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Oky replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Enemies? As in villains? Well, these are the most important ones I think: Palpatine (duh!) Count Dooku Poggle the Lesser Jango Fett If you really just mean enemies, there are also the BDs, SBDs, Geonosians, Tuskens, Zam Wesell, and the arena beasts. -
Very nice and funny shot, takeshi_lum! It was not that easy, actually. There were some difficulties with the IG-88 one since the torso mold and posing of the two droids were slightly different, and I had to cheat a little on the white Boba since its printing was a bit lower than that of the green one, so I had to push it up a bit. They're both kinda dark, so I doubt that it would work. Yes, and I think this could work. I'll give it a try, thanks.

I'm kinda glad this is fake since I'm pretty burnt out after the TC-14 and Hulk promos. But yeah, this sure would make a great promo! So, now that we know it's fake, it would probably be good if a mod would close this thread so that nobody else gets their hopes up.

Thanks everyone! Go for it. I wanted to make one with K-3PO instead anyway, so I scanned his character encyclopedia page, and this is the result: The Dark Side of the 3PO by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr The Dark Side of IG-88 by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr The Light Side of the Fett by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr

Yeah, he's pretty cool too, isn't he? Thanks, but I can't take credit for it; it's all SPARKART's design and picture.

Very nice update! The greeble adds a lot to the scene, and I like the added points of articulation for the robot arms and the racks of unused droid parts. The stopmotion is funny too, mainly because the arms of the droid are attached upside down.

Thanks! Alright, here's the next batch. They don't align as perfectly as the first ones due to differing printing and the clone pilot helmets not being on the same height, but they still work, I think. Nice work, Hobbestimus. I'm not a big fan of mixing yellows with fleshies, so I'll have to see if I can make fleshie versions of those figs. The Movie X-Men are pretty spot-on though! I think you're missing the point of this thread...
-
Not bad, but I think it could use more detail. You could add some greeble on the outside of the assembly line. Also, I believe the heads are the last part that are attached to the droids.
-
Thanks for the mid-game scene! Looks great. Nice use of the water fountain piece. I was thinking of the kind of flex tubes that are used as cables on Podracers, but any kind will do, I think. If you feel like improving the arena further, how about adding a play feature where you can raise the mid circle for tiebreaker face-offs? And I know making organic looking brick-built creatures is hard, but it's possible. For example, leaving studs exposed can help make forms feel more rounded sometimes. Also, I still think you should use droid/skeleton arms and legs for them. Ozai's airship is really cool! I love all the play features, custom figs, and the way you made the phoenix head! Just imagine we could have gotten an official set like this.

Thanks! I do, but I don't think it would work very well since neither of them is really dark nor light. Maybe I'll try scanning the K-3PO page from the Character Encyclopedia... Also a good idea. I only have the one from the Y-Wing, though, so I'll have to see if I can find a good picture of the one from the TIE Fighter.

Happy Birthday, Grand Admiral! Oh, and very cool picture, Big Cam!
-
Thanks! Hm, good idea, I hadn't considered that. I'll try that. This could also work with the Imperial V-Wing Pilot and the one from Palpy's Shuttle, but unfortunately I don't have the latter. EDIT: Never mind. Looks like GRogall has an excellent picture of that pilot in his brickshelf folder!

Excellent shots, guys! Here's a series of shots I made which show that everyone has a dark side, even R2. No editing has been done aside from basic color correction, cutting the pictures in half, and lining them up. I'm fairly happy how they turned out, even though the helmets didn't match up perfectly. I wish I could do a "Dark Side of K-3PO", but I don't have him unfortunately. Sure. Thanks for letting me know. No, the theme of this CB is Attack of the Clones, so it should be something from that movie. Slight variations of vehicles from the movie are fine, such as dr_spock's Steampunk HSD, but no fanon vehicles. Well, you still have about 3 weeks, so you still have time to put something together.

Thanks! They should be yellow because they always are in the comics. According to the Marvel Comics Database, the purpose of that is it "to represent his distinctive voice".
