He’s 10 years old. So presumably he will still get the short legs. -

Yeah, I definitely agree with you. It’s a weird choice. Although I am very glad that Lego is at the very least acknowledging that the sequels exist. By the time this releases it will have been 5 years since the last sequels set released, and this at least gives me hope to see some playsets at some point down the line. -

They better make a new mould, the old one’s printing rubbed off so easily, plus it’s a bit cartoony. At the very least I’d hope they’d make it out of the harder rubber that they’ve used for Yoda and most rubber-headed characters since ~2013, rather than the soft rubber they used for the original Plo, Clone Wars Yoda, and Kit Fisto. -

That’s basically it in terms of figures that already exist. You could also fill it out with a Gamorrean or two, and make a custom Tessek using the one from Bib Fortuna’s Throne Room. I’m also going to try and see if I can piece together custom Yoxgit, Brock Starsher, and Barada as well. (Although Barada might be difficult since as far as I can tell the bandanna mould doesn’t exist in yellow.) Kicking myself that I didn’t get Rintel Aren when he first released, since he’s pretty expensive on the aftermarket now. -

Bib was on the barge. The Legends story from Tales of Jabba’s Palace said he wasn’t, but if you watch Return of the Jedi you can see him on the barge. -

Well, the minifigures are definitely a huge let down, but the build looks phenomenal. I’m still super glad it exists, and I’ll still be purchasing it day one, as it is my dream Lego set. I can’t wait to set up a Pit of Carkoon display (even if it might be a few more years until I have the display room for it). -

I agree. For myself I’m not overly worried, as I have Ree-Yees and the Quarren from Bib Fortuna’s Throne Room, but 11 figures is still disappointing for a $500 set, and I feel bad for the people who don’t already have the figures. -

I have absolutely no idea why they would include Kithaba over Barade, since like CallumPears said, we’ve already got Kithaba before. Hopefully he’ll at least use the Vane bandanna piece rather than the one he had in 2012. The minifigure selection is overall super disappointing. 11 is a ridiculously small amount of figures for a player this size. I would’ve thought Ree-Yees, Tessek, and Saelt-Marae would’ve been essential figures to a UCS Barge. Tessek wouldn’t have even needed a new mould. -

I desperately hope so, although I’m definitely not holding my breath, since Dave Filoni does not like taking things or being beholden to things from other Star Wars books or comics. Also Filoni’s Thrawn is a completely different person from Zahn’s canon Thrawn, and it would be a bit weird to see cartoon supervillain tv show Thrawn interact with Eli Vanto, when Thrawn is much more morally complicated in the books. -

We do not. But I would have to assume it would be similar to what is inside the Hasbro Sail Barge. (Which itself had a similar interior in terms of rooms depicted to the smaller 2013 Lego Sail Barge.) -

That’s true. The satyr legs would work well for Geonosians, who have backwards knees, but Zeb’s knees bend the normal way, so it would definitely be more inaccurate to give him the satyr legs. (I think people probably get confused at his legs bending backwards because the heels of his feet are high off the ground.) -

I think short legs for Ahsoka wouldn’t make a lot of sense in this scenario. She’s already 17 at the time of the episode where the interceptor appears, and by this point in the show is significantly taller than adult characters who have normal legs, like Leia or Peli Motto. (Also it looks like the Harry Potter characters get normal length legs at age 15 or older in Lego.) -

Oof. Probably won’t look as bad as some others would look, but not great. They better at least give Jabba real pupils. -

I can’t see why they’d cancel the set, especially at this point. Much more likely they move the release to January 1st IMO. Or sometime later this year, and they’re clamping down on leaks because the show doesn’t even have a trailer yet. I don’t get people calling Jedi Bob’s Starfighter ugly as a flaw. Isn’t that sort of the point? It’s clearly evoking early 2000s Lego design philosophy. All in all, I really appreciate the design. I’m not going to spend $50 on it, but I’m happy it exists. I am curious as to how it looks in an unaltered photo, since the current image is definitely filtered a bit so the greys look like the old grey colours. -

The Boba Fett looks atrocious. Thank god I’ve got the 2012 version to mod and use the cape from. The rest of the set looks great. Really love the design of the skiff. Hopefully it isn’t too expensive to part out a second skiff. Might mod it, since it seems a bit small, but I don’t know how it compares to minifig scale. -

The cape argument would be ridiculous, since the part of Boba’s cape that pokes out doesn’t even fit under the jetpack. And if they don’t make a new Boba I’ll be incredibly disappointed but not very surprised, since the Boba in the mech is the ESB version, being significantly different from the ROTJ version. -

I can’t stand Mara Jade because a non-asexual Luke Skywalker feels wrong and weird. The character would probably be cool in a separate context though. -

The Dark Falcon looks great. But $240 CAD is really rough. My wallet isn’t going to be doing so hot, especially with the Sail Barge coming out in the fall. I’ll probably consider buying it next May the 4th, depending how it compares to other stuff I’d want. -

I do already have the UCS R2, and I’m usually not a fan of oversized sets, but the inclusion of Chopper and R2-KT is nice and I’m actually looking forward to buying this, instead of being frustrated at Leia coming in an uninteresting set. -

To be fair, Star Wars is fantasy. Also, you unfortunately aren’t going to get anything about Beren and Luthien or Melkor, because the Tolkien Estate still holds on to all of the rights for stories derived from the Silmarillion, and has yet to lend those rights out to anyone. -

Looking at Wookieepedia speaking about the canon Thrawn prequel trilogy, it definitely seems like Zahn intended to make Outbound Flight canon, or at least the broad strokes of it are canon. (I haven’t read Outbound Flight, so I don’t know how much of it contradicts the current canon.) But the ship itself, if not explicitly named, is definitely canon. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_Lesser_Space_starship -

Not as far as we know, but since the new movies are made by Warner Brothers, the same company that owns the rights to the trilogy from the early 2000s that Lego is currently making sets based off of, it should probably be really easy for Lego to acquire those rights. -

To be fair, it’s pretty clear in the comic that the intention is that the idea that Palpatine created him is one of Vader’s anxieties, not a thing that actually happened in story. Not saying that doesn’t mean it isn’t the case in canon, but the comic certainly isn’t a good argument one way or the other. -

Not particularly, but it would be really weird if they don’t end up using it for Tessek to come with Jabba’s Sail Barge. Especially since we haven’t really gotten random unnamend non-human Rebels in 2016, and there’s not really any sets that have come out recently that a Quarren could fit in.
