  1. Between Bricklink and LEGO Digital Designer, it seems like a bad weekend for MOC-Planning.
  2. Oh, oops. I understand completely and would love to see it when it is done.
  3. Brickforge has centaur bodies!
  4. Aw, too bad. I'll still probably pick a few up eventually, though.
  5. If you were going to drill the end of the Tase Gun vertically to resemble a clip, what size bit would you use? I'm thinking modding it so this piece sticks out the end: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=59233pb01
  6. Yeah, but he can't or won't tell us what they are, so it does the rest of us little good.
  7. Not only do I cross themes, I'll sometimes go out of my way to rebuild a set in a more theme-appropriate color scheme. I took the chopper from the helicopter transport set and rebuilt it in Dark Blue and Silver and -BOOM- Agents minichopper. I was crossing Atlantis and Power Miners, and then LEGO included Brains in one of the second wave Atlantis sets and I suddenly felt pretty justified.
  8. I think it is a perilous thing to outright discount the products made by 3rd party customizers these days. I have noticed, particularly within the Collectible Minifig line, that LEGO is producing a lot of items that appear shall we say "inspired" by 3rd party equipment manufacturers. Brickforge more often that Brickarms, admittedly, but that is primarily due to BA's focus on (fantastic) modern combat weapons. But I seem to remember them doing a syringe first. So hating on 3rd party parts and accessories may very well be hating on the inspiration for parts of the future of the line we all love.
  9. Wait, so what if someone used the third party custom molded weapons for only fictional settings. Would that make it technically okay? Going to use my preferred theme as an example here: The Agents sets had a lot of weapons and bombs used that were straight-up official pieces. Chainsaw hands, pistols (come on, we all know that's what those hose nozzles were supposed to be), and a character fond of chucking bundles of dynamite at the opposition. So if someone were to use third party weapons molds, still keeping it within the fictional theme, would it still be such a negative thing?
  10. Heeey. This might have been asked before, but does anyone know if there is a built-in way to add the laboratory to the castle? I'm trying to plot out how much modding I'll have to do while I await the release of this awesome line.
  11. I think the lab car is supposed to have covered rear wheels like a lot of the mid to late 40's-early 50's coupes. Like the '49 Ford Coupe, or some versions of the jaguar xk120. It adds a touch of vintage to the aesthetic of the heroes' equipment.
  12. Personally, I see no problems customizing parts of a toy line all about creativity and creation. But you know what? I have a hard time customizing parts not related to minifig stuff, usually because a suitable replacement already exists for what I need it for. I got nothing resembling hate for 3rd party molds, and will go order some now to counter-balance any ill-will felt toward them.
  13. Absolutely fair. I never said that they shouldn't be made, just that it was frustrating that that was all that seemed to be hitting the mark right now. But it is easier to generate interest for a brand that has an association behind it. Although to be honest, while I recognize the wonders licenses have done to keep LEGO from disappearing, I don't actually collect any of those themes. So maybe it's a personal bias that causes the frustration.
  14. No, I realize that they haven't gotten made into sets yet, but in the past few weeks we've seen Shaun of the Dead, Legend of Zelda, Firefly, Back to the Future, and I think I read EVE Online somewhere? And it frustrates me because Shaun of the Dead got shot down (and I agree with it not getting made for the reasons presented), and now if these other licenses all get passed over, then you'll get a bunch of people stating that the idea doesn't work, and LEGO will have to rewrite the guidelines regarding licensed properties, and people will get upset because that's what people do when there's change, and then it just gets to be a big mess.
  15. While I find it frustrating and disappointing that the only submissions to reach the target mark recently have been licensed properties, I also understand that part of what helps those submissions achieve the mark is the recognizable name of the license. I love Legend of Zelda, but wouldn't actively purchase a LEGO set with that theme unless it was for parts. I express my personal feeling on this subject, however, not by complaining, but by only supporting projects I would actively monetarily pursue. All that aside, while I'm frustrated that all that seems to reach 10,000 supporters are the licensed themes, I hold no grudges against those who support them, as a lot of the licenses have performed very well sales-wise. I guess I'm saying that instead of getting upset about what's getting support, we should be more supportive of what we think should get made.
  16. Arealight Breezy Hair? http://www.arealightcustoms.com/shop/Red-Breezy-Hair.html
  17. Weren't a lot of the Vikings theme heads angry dudes?
  18. Most yellow-tinted glasses made in the past 5 years are made of polycarb, so yeah.
  19. Ha! I was at OKC too. The line was huge and a lot longer than my friends expected, since they aren't as into LEGO, I think they were expecting 12 guys out front or something. I think it was a couple hours before we got in, but I don't remember it well now. All I know is that trip is where I got my AGENTS 2.0 sets and a pick-a-brick cup with a ton of trans-green 1x1 tiles in it.
  20. I suppose this fits here. This might be a dumb line of questioning, but I was thinking of something similar the other day. I read somewhere on here that Transparent pieces are made out of polycarbonate, and I know that is a popular material for the lenses in glasses these days. So, I'm wondering if it would be possible to dye Trans-Clear pieces the same way you'd dye lenses for shooter glasses to get Trans-Yellow?
  21. I'm from Tulsa, too. Lot of us popping up recently. The terminology's funny. I thought I'd never get it down, and didn't realize I had started thinking in the terms when I tried to describe or evaluate pictures. I usually just build in LDD, though. Money's too tight to build everything I want to all at once right now.
  22. Pretty sure my Breakjaw is jealous of your Breakjaw's custom ride! That's a fantastic vehicle.
  23. Weird. I'm also a Tulsan.
  24. Batwoman (the new one, not the yellow-costumed one), Spoiler (or her Robin or Batgirl incarnations), Green Arrow, Deadshot (just, uh, not in that first costume), and Deathstroke/Slade from DC. Marvel, I guess X-folks.
