  1. I worked in a major chain toy store for nearly a decade. Most of that time I was doing the "LEGO Dark Ages" thing, and spent most of my money on video games (which was the department I worked in, not-so-coincidentally). I have a lot of stories, but most of them aren't hilarious. I did not have fun at that job.
  2. Okay, I have a dumb question. I'm not a train guy, so I don't know much about the ins and outs of that section of the hobby, but my son is pretty into them. We're probably going to get him the Constitution Chase set fro his birthday, and my parents were asking me which type of track comes with it, in case they might want to pick him up some expansions. I didn't even know there were different types of track until they asked me that, so, uh... What kind of track is that?
  3. 4489 no longer fits on 4488? Opened up my file of Set 9462 and it told me there were 2 incorrectly placed bricks. Noticed them right away, as the wheels were off of the chariot. I cannot get them new ones back on, and am unable to place new ones on duplicate parts in any circumstance.
  4. What is part 11538? *EDIT* Nevermind, it's that new A-wing Pilot helmet, isn't it?
  5. I'm not much of a train guy, I'll admit, but my son's a huge fan of them. He made me click on the frontpage link, and I read him the detail captions under the pictures. We were both very impressed with the detail in the build and the functional modularity (izzat a word?) of the model. Then I got to the spoilered area, and you mentioned Blaine the Train (who is a Pain) and I just about lost it with giggling. My son didn't know what to think.
  6. Haha, Icepicks in the intakes!
  7. As long as we're talking book Starship Troopers, somebody make the blue guys!
  8. I've got an enormous cabinet full of sorted LEGO elements that's mine, and all my finished MOCs are in storage at another location. My son, who is about to turn 5, has a bucket of LEGO (and clone brad stuff) of his very own, as well as some Cars system stuff and a few miscellaneous sets like the Monster Fighters Laboratory. For now, we keep our collections separate, and I'll pick him up a couple of sets here and there or give him any collectible minifigs I pick up but don't want. This situation may change if he ever develops a real interest in the hobby, but for now, it's working out okay.
  9. I hope they all make their way into the hands of kids, because can you imagine the bragging rights?
  10. I can't believe I missed this! This is awesome!
  11. It's so tiny! I think it is great!
  12. So, for the Action Themes Building Drive, I designed a vehicle for Dr. Inferno's group (the bad guys from the Agents Theme, where most of my designs are based). I haven't yet acquired the parts to build it for real, but I'm submitting the LDD version. Here's the tank itself (with the treads that won't go on in-file ). Pretend the Skulls are the Inferno head symbol. And here it is with the main play feature shown: The ability for the flamethrower platform to detach from the tank and remain as a stationary defense station! And, as always, here's a Link to the file.
  13. Bricklink orders aren't in, so I probably won't make the deadline unless I can do it tomorrow evening. Dang.
  14. Oh, good! More parts-sifting complications.
  15. That's a great support vehicle! I really like the retractable dish.
  16. This is an intentionally poorly cropped preview image of something I'm trying to build in real life right now!
  17. ] Working on mine. We'll see if I get it done. I may need to order a part or twelve.
  18. I mentioned this story in another thread a while back. This doesn't count exactly, since one was supposed to be there to begin with, but when I opened my Monster Fighters 9466, I got something like ten or twelve copies of the sticker sheet included with the instructions.
  19. I dunno if he's the best, but my favorite licensed minifig is the new Sebulba, because of how non-standard he is and how unlike the original (lazy) representation of him. I think the worst licensed minifigs are all the Speed Racer and Avatar: The Last Airbender figures, simply because their almost uniform lack of hairpieces (and helmet visors in the case of Speed Racer) makes them feel unfinished to me.
  20. Not going to lie, I have a lot (30+) of Agents MOCs in various stages in real life and on LDD, but for this contest, I think I'll build something new. Something I've been sketching at work recently. Something villainous.
  21. This might sound ridiculous, but I don't have enough CMF display plates. I buy Collectible Minifigures for parts only, and use the stands for my minifigures on my display shelves. I was using black 2x4 plates with technic holes, but then I swapped a few out for CMF stands and now I'm a couple hundred short.
