LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
AD_Bricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
ARC-170 looks great, size is much better than the last ones imo, and it was wayyy overdue. I like it and will definitely buy it as soon as I find it for less than retail but honestly the figure selection is pretty boring to me. It's great to get the named clone pilots, and having all 3 was definitely necessary, but seeing as they're all basically the same figure, the set really needed something else to make it more interesting (e.g. Plo Koon????) and the generic astromech doesn't fulfill that imo. If they did just put in Plo, I doubt I'd even have much of a problem with the price, it would have felt like an almost flawless set. -

That would be pretty cool to see, but yeah, as you said, I think that's pretty much what we're getting with the combo mech based on the picture we saw, with Riyu's head coming over the top and his wings out the back like they're the mech's wings.- 749 replies

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I took a peek at the highest resolution image I could find and I'm 90% sure Lucius has something other than the bruce wayne face. Wahoo! Smaller eyebrows and smaller mouth. Looks at least a bit closer to how he looks in the movies. -

Yes, exactly! The whole concept of an "army builder" doesn't mean you absolutely have to be able to buy several hundred to amass a lore-accurate army, and the people that do that certainly achieve impressive things, but there aren't enough people like that to cater all battle packs to them specifically. People often "build their army" by buying one single battle pack. It still helps to build up your army so that you have, like, six stormtroopers as opposed to two. Heck, even the jedi and clone troopers battle pack is, in my opinion, a good army builder, because although it doesn't really make sense to buy lots, buying one gets you a couple of clones to add to your collection, and a couple of jedi that aren't Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, or Mace Windu for you to use to recreate scenes on Geonosis or in the Jedi Temple, etc. -

Just double checking, is this a second Andor set in 2025? Or just proper confirmation of the second one ever, that we already had word of (supposedly a U-Wing)? -

Oh yeah, that too, but I was referring to how he's now not really with the main team at the moment (like Jay), so I guess Arin is doubly unpredictable now, haha- 749 replies

True, but also we can't necessarily rely on applying patterns for the other ninja to Arin for this wave, since from what we know he's in a similar boat to Jay now (at least in terms of presence in the sets)- 749 replies

I hope it's the Arin from the chaos dragon. That version seems more interesting, and it will mean that the jet still gets to have a single exclusive figure.- 749 replies

I ended up buying the Tenoo temple on a steep discount like that (~60-70% off), now I'm just waiting for the same thing to happen to the Firehawk in a shop near me so that I can complete the collection, lmao. Absolutely not worth it at full price but definitely fun enough to sway me when cheap enough. -

But not very sizey for its price, and it didn't include much in the way of troops to fill up that room :( -

Don't forget the E-Wing, because somehow the last several years has included one of those, but still no B-Wing! And the E-Wing before that was only a year before the last B-Wing! -

Also the downscaled rebel one from Yavin IV, making it a whopping 1 year since our last one, but if we're specifically talking about rebel ones at proper playscale then it definitely is 8, so definitely way overdue. -

We're getting very nitpicky about the orphan thing... I think the general point is that Disney uses lack of parents as a character trope too often, which definitely applies to Luke, Anakin, Han, etc. It's not even that big of a deal and definitely isn't on topic. -

I think we figured out that some leakers did actually see a blurry image of one at some point, which is where the initial rumour came from, and the general consensus seemed to be that there was one in the works that got scrapped. -

Do you have any of the older figures? It looks pretty bad when you move the legs and see the light nougat in between from the front, and the lack of anything on the back aside from the red waist is abysmal. The dual mould may have red on the sides where it isn't in the actual costume, but it gives it a cleaner look imo, so overall I reckon the addition of the dual moulded legs is a definite improvement. However, I do understand why the arguable inaccuracy of it may be a downgrade for some people. -

Can confirm that my 2 Jabbas from the 2012 palace and 2013 barge both have the tattoo on the right arm, just as the new one almost certainly will. Bib definitely looks wrong with the BOBF mould, but Leia looks great. I might have to buy the dual moulded legs to switch out on my 2013 version. Looks pretty good overall, but as usual, USC sets aren't my jam nor within my budget, so I'll stay out of the value discussion.
