  1. For sure 8258 Crane Truck, took about 10 hours of building time.
  2. Try to find 8258 Crane Truck if you can, it is a great start set. Also, 8043 and 8110 are very nice. PS. I know you did say you do not want small sets, but i strongly recommend 42007 Moto Cross Bike.
  3. Loveeeeeeeely . Really made my day. Good job !
  4. Cool set Paul B, will you be so kind and make a review on it ? Thanks !
  5. That would be very nice, but i am afraid i do not have a spare room in my house . I will just have to buy more Lego cabinets or, make the model shorter.
  6. I wanted to tell you guys that i bough the Formula 1 set and i can say it is a very nice set. Only one problem, it is too big for my shelf and i am running out of space to put my display models. Ups ... Overall, i can say it has very good value for the price i got it (lego store price, actually was a gift so i did not pay anything for it).
  7. Soooo cool, really love all the details ! Great work !
  8. Well, i only buy sets to display them (i slowly run out of space), i never used them for parts. I generally go for the looks, but i can not say that i mind a set with a complex gearbox (i love 8258, 8043). Thank you all for your help, probably i will buy 42000 because of the looks, and later buy the 42008 too if i have enough money.
  9. 8053 brought me from my dark ages, two years ago. Then, i bought 8265, 8043 and so on.
  10. So, for some time i am thinking of buying a mid-range lego set, and i got two candidates: 1. 42000 Formula 1 2. 42008 Truck These sets are in the same price range, have almost the same number of pieces and i really do not know what to get. The Formula 1 car looks great, but does not pack a lot of functions and i kinda like trucks. The problem with 42008 is that i really hate the design of it and i hate the green color. On the other side, it has some nice functions and some pneumatic elements. So, what to get ?
  11. Well, i can tell you that you can find Lego in TRU too, in the mall Le4temps at La Defense. U get there fairly easy by subway. I have visited the Lego shop too, but the PAB wall was not that great, although they had some nice sets there in stock.
  12. Get 9397 for sure, i really like that set, UW made yet again a wonderful truck.
  13. I bought mine a month ago and it also says 9392.
  14. Did not know about German Ebay, i only looked at us version and the models where extremely expensive. I will look and try to buy a full model, it is much easy for me too. Thank you for the tip.
  15. So, i have a little dilemma. I really want to get my hands on 8285 Tow Truck but i can't find to buy it at a good price so i was thinking ob buying the pieces of Bricklink. Are there some very difficult pieces to get on this set ? I heard that the wheels are expensive and i was wondering if i could replace them with the wheels from 8258/9397/etc.
  16. Today i have bought the 4 minifigs i wanted from this series really bad: - The scarecrow - awesome minifig, one of my favorite of all time, the printing is great, the crow on the hat is amazing and overall the details are awesome. - Gingerbread man - yet another awesome minifig, i bought it just for the cup and the amazing design - Tiki warrior - beautiful printing, masc, spear, design ! Must have from this series. - Female scientist - only because i work in biotechnology field and i love science minifigs ! Love it !
  17. Outstanding work you got there! Big big like
  18. Thanks for the photo you made chorlton, 8109 looks waaaay better then 42008. Too bad that the designer of 8109 did not make 42008 too.
  19. I was just thinking of buying this set so thank you for posting this review. I have two options: 42000 or 42008 and after this review i'm more interested in the truck. I think the scale is the same with the 8109 so, it has a "brother", to say so. One thing bothers me about this set: the front is plain ugly (compared to other Lego trucks 9397 and 8258, that i own). Great review Paul B . PS: can anyone post a picture with 42008 and 8109 side by side ? Thanx in advance.
  20. Nice review Paul B, enjoyed reading it. I kinda like the set but in my opinion is just a bit overpriced, the price / piece ratio is poor.
  21. You can always buy some ordinary cabinets and put glass doors on them. I have done so and i do not have any problem with dust.
  22. We have piece counts for 17 of the sets you own. Using that data we have calculated that you own 9985 pieces! I am a newbie in Lego. PS: all pieces are technic, i have some System too, but the are not listed in my Brickset collection.
  23. 1. Not as much i would like (only build sets when i buy them and i don't build any MOCs so not so much time) 2. I buy arounf 2-3 sets a year, so i spend bwtween 200 - 300 euro on them
  24. Here is a little update on my Technic collection (and CMF). Here are the sets on display (without the Town and SW which are not build)
