  1. Ok, so i was browsing ebay/amazon this evening and i was surprised to see that lego technic set 8053 price is VERY high. What happened ?
  2. @lightningtiger: Well those tools kinda get in the way, but when you tow a car you can take them out.
  3. Hello Eurobrick comunity, first of all i must say this is my first review of any Lego set and i hope you'll like it. Today i will do a review on a old set, 6670 Rescue Rig. I think it was my second Lego set, i received it in 1993 and after 19 years i decided to sort my pile of Lego and build some old models. I must say, i really love old Lego Town vehicles, so build this after so many years was a delight. Ok, so let's see review. Name: Rescue Rig Theme: LEGO System / Town Year: 1993 Pieces: 114 Minifigs: 1 Price: US$9.25 So, this struck is based on a 4 studs structure, it comes with 1 minifig (which i can't find ) and 2 road signs. One thing that i really like about old sets that are more detailed than the new ones. I really like the front lights and the grill. The doors open too, nice feature on a little set. Another GREAT thing is that this set does NOT come with any stickers. All the pars are printed. We have 6 printed parts (4 bricks and 2 signs). I wasn't able to find one printed part, so i had to replace with another one. Here are some close shots of the set: You can see that we get 2 tools, one hammer and a key. These are the instructions, i'll post both photos, maybe someone needs them. Playability: 8.5/10 - It's more than ok, you can yow cars, you get 2 road signs, 2 tools, 1 nice minifig. I really like this sets playability. Design: 9/10 - Again, i really like the design. We get 6 printed parts, great system to hook up cars. Price: 10/10 - I don't know what is the price for this set on ebay, but at that time this set had a great price. Overall: 9.5/10 - I must say, after almost 20 years i find this set superb. I REALLY like it and i think it is a great addition to any Lego Town out there. Hope you like my review and maybe i'll make some more.
  4. Soo, i just found set 8069 for only 40 $ and i bought it. What can i say, a wonderful set, i really really enjoy building it. I think this was the most relaxing build comparing to 8265 and 8053. The new mLa are ok but i like the normal ones better. I was surprised to see that this set is decent in size for the number of pieces, it packs a lot of functions, it has some nice pieces, not so many stickers. Overall, i say this is a must have set, with very good value and great functions. I uploaded some pics with 8069 beside 8265 to see how they look side by side. http://www.flickr.com/photos/72997571@N02/sets/72157628603746821/detail/
  5. Ok guys, i've made a couple of shots of 8265 beside 8053 for comparison. Hope you like them and if you want any other photos, i'll take them.
  6. Just finished building 8265 set, and i can say it was a tricky set to do. Lots of gears, tiny pieces, my fingers are sore because some parts fit very hard, but overall a very nice build (harder then 8053 set). This set is enormous, if you'd like i can take a picture of it beside 8053 to see the difference. I have 2 complains about this set: 1. Steering is kinda hard, i think they could have done a better job. 2. No cardboard under the manuals (but i think that's because it was released in 2009). PS: I love this set because it does not have many stickers (only 4). Overall this is a great and complex set.
  7. First of all, i can't find 8439 anywhere, so that's a big thumbs down for this set (i would have enjoyed a pneumatic set, kinda tired of turning a knob on my 8053). I think i'm going to buy the 8265, because i see that is not in production anymore, so i can buy 8069 next year. Thx for the advice :)
  8. Hey there, this is my first post on this forum (please excuse my english but i'm from Romania and my skills aren't so great - only member from this country i think ). Last year i bought Technic set 8053, which was the first big Lego Technic sets, so this year i plan on buying another one. I have 2 sets that raised my interest 8265 and 8069. In your opinion, which should i buy ? I looked over some reviews and 8265 looks much complex / bigger / better but 8069 looks ok too. So, what should i buy ? :D
