  1. For me, it is easy. Buy the 42009 ! Although it does not have RC parts, it is a great set, big parts pack, wheels, etc. And ofc, it is the predecessor of 8421 ! BTW: I see you are from NL, and If you are from Wageningen, at the local Intertoys there is an 8110 left with nice discount - 159 euro.
  2. The dozer is looking very good imho, it will be a must buy for me ! I wonder how many pieces will it have and the price ?
  3. Well, that what they are. 8285 with tipper, not a actual set.
  4. Sorry to bump this topic, but in a few days i will be in Amsterdam for a day and i would like to know where to go to buy some lego sets. Beside the one posted above, are there any other places ?
  5. Kudos for what you are doing Jason, apart from the little mistakes in building the models i really enjoy your reviews ! Keep them coming !
  6. I tried to put the outriggers down too on my models, but then i realized that i do not think lego ever made a technic set with outriggers that actually hold the model (beside 8455, which has pneumatic outriggers).
  7. If i had some spare lego bricks i would have done the same, but i do not have any. I can confirm that sunlight is bad for white pieces, my 42000 is turning a little yellow-ish, despite i have tinted windows to the cabinet that it is in.
  8. As i only display my Lego Technic sets, i am wondering if over time the rubber tires, beams and other bricks will get damaged. I noticed on my 9397 truck that the beams bend a little so i had to improvise something to support the middle of the truck. Now, looking at my 8285 Tow Truck i see the same problem. Another example is 8265, because of its weight the tires flatten a bit if i do not move the model every month. So, is displaying models harmful to them ? What do you guys do to your models to keep them „safe”. Too see what i am talking about, i uploaded pics of the way i got my 9397 and 8285 not to bend.
  9. The bulldozer is looking very nice, a must buy for me. A wonder how many pieces will it have ? Around 1,000 or smaller ? I can not wait to see better pictures of it !
  10. The back is bigger for sure, but i am pretty sure it is bigger overall.
  11. It looks ok, it is very nice because it is RC, but i am not that excited overall. Let's just say, it was not love at first sight (like it was with 8258, 8043 - when i first saw them, i knew i had to have them)
  12. Hmm, i kinda like the Volvo Frond Loader, i do not know why, i just like the old 8265 better. It looks more detailed, more ... beautiful ? Excited to see the dozer pics, tho.
  13. I enjoy watching their reviews, but i really do not pay very much attention to them, i just look closer at the set. As a AFOL Technic Fan, i always laugh when they review a Technic set and dont build it the right way. Every technic set reviewed by them was built wrong
  14. @dougstar, between 42000 and 42008 i would choose the F1 Car, just for the looks and wheels. 42008 is too an interesting set, but it has too many flaws in my opinion (and very ugly design). @Manusdei, if you want a set with lots of PF in it you should look for 9398 or, if you have the money look for the king or RC - 8043 Excavator. Cheers, F.
  15. If you think this set has an brilliant gearbox, try to get 8043, you will be amazed.
  16. I think i am the only one who likes sets without PF. i know turning a knob is not much appreciated but i prefere this insted of buying tons of batteries. For example, i played much more times with 8069 then 8043 or 8258. To be ontopic, i can not wait to get the Container Truck.
  17. Well, i really do not think that we will get any suspension in the set, i own a decent sets in the construction theme and none have suspension.
  18. Let's not forget one thing, TLG brings to the market sets designed for kids, so maybe they think that big yellow machinery will appeal much more to them than something else. In the end it's all about the earnings, if they make a flagship set and it won't sell they lose and they can not afford that. In my country a good example is the 9398 Crawler, it was RC, but it didn't sell as well as let's say 8043 Excavator (facts based on the shelf-life and stock of the toy stores).
  19. For sure 8265 did not need a license, there is nothing on it that indicates that it does. I think this will be a very good flagship model, it will look very good next to my mean-yellow-machines
  20. Well done Razvy, wonderfull rooster you made. Greeting from Romania :p
  21. I would say no, 8043 is a far better set in my opinion, and 42009 will still be on sale for at least 1 year.
  22. Very good review, i am not a big fan of the Architecture sets, but i must say this looms great. Thank you for the nice review WhiteFang :)
  23. I think my best Technic deal was getting 8285 at 100 € complete (non silver rims version tho).
  24. Wow, this is truly epic, never thought i would see something like this.
  25. You are right in one way, it does look empty viewed upclose, but the truck looks awesome just as a display model. I have it now right to the 8258 and they both look great. Too bad 8285 is unfinished on the inside.
