  1. Well, at $170 the price is indeed pretty steep, i hope you find it at a much lower price ! Good luck !
  2. I fully agree with Blackbird, 42000 is a nice set and you should give it a chance. I think you won t be dissapointed.
  3. Got this set misb today for 60 euro, a decent price i think. I must admit, it is a neat set, when i first saw it i did not like it at all, but now that it is built i looks very nice. The wheels are very cool and the functions are nice too. The only complain that i have is with the cab, i wished it look more like 8109 cab. One question to the ones that built this set, i got a spare 13 stud long red beam, did any of you got that too ? The model is complete and i am sure it has all the parts in it.
  4. Pure awesomeness !!!! Such a nice design on that excavator, i thought it was a die cast model, not a Lego one !
  5. I say you try getting the 8265 too, it is a very nice set with lots of details. Maybe look for a good deal to appear and you may get it at a good price.
  6. A precise scale is no more then 20 bucks so i say it is a good investment.
  7. Very nice review, well done !. This is a little lovely set.
  8. I find the Unimog far more interesting then the Crawler, if you want something RC you should be looking in 8043 way.
  9. I think the Unimog is a perfect starter set for a Technic lover (lots of pieces, pneumatics, PF) and i do not think it will be to hard for him to build the set. You got the set at a wonderful price, i envy you
  10. Sorry for bumping an old topic, but after i managed to get 8285 at a decent price (too bad it was the version with the normal wheels, not the metallic silver ones) i am now looking to Bricklink 8275 Bulldozer. My question is: is it worth it ? I was thinking just to bricklink the parts without the PF, because i only display it and i dont need the motors, IR parts (maybe buy them later when i have some extra cash). What do you guys think ?
  11. I think i would agree with the people above me, 8258 is a GREAT set, i just love it (maybe, for me, the best Technic set ever made) but i would notnever pay 300-400$ on it. I would try to bricklink it or wait for a trip into Europe to get it at a decent price. I got mine a couple of years ago at 150 euro (used, box and manuals) and i think that is the right price for it.
  12. Yes, the worm gear is extra and it came with juat one. You might be right, it is for the B model.
  13. Ooops, sorry for the mistake. The problem is that i can not edit the title :(
  14. Review: 42027 Desert Racer Name: Desert Racer Set Number: 42027 Pieces: 148 Price: $19.99, £17.99, €19.99 Ages: 7-14 Year of Release: 2014 Hello Eurobricks community and welcome to my new review on a cute and little set. This month was my birthday and someone special got me 42027 Desert Racer set (if you ever read this review thank you very much for this). I want to say only one thing, although i am a BIG fan of Technic line i have never had a set with a Pull-Back motor, so i didn't know what to expect. Box Nothing special here, just a small box with some nice graphic art on it. You can see clearly that it has a Pull-Back motor because they advertise it on the box. The first thing that struck me was the green lime color of the actual set. Pretty nice ! The back of the box is showing us that there is no alternative model for this set BUT you can combine this set with 42026 to make a bigger set. There are no instructions provided in either set to do that, but as you can see, the instructions are downloadable from Lego.com. In my opinion the model that results form combining 42027 and 42026 is ugly and i really do not understand you somebody would built that set, but, well, that's just me. The sides of the box are clean and simple. Here you can see the 1:1 image where they put the wheel so you can approximate how big the final set will be. Also, in the corner they advertise the Pull-Back feature. Opening the box This is the part that i like the most. The smell of fresh Lego . As you can imagine, there aren't so many pieces in the box because the set only has 148 pieces, but in my opinion it comes with a lot of goodies. First of all, there are 2 bags, 1 pull-back motor, 1 sticker sheet and a manual. The odd thing was that 2 of the wheels were inside the first bag with other pieces and 2 others were free in the box (??). Oh well, that didn't bother me so i moved on. Here you can see a picture with all the box content. And the instruction manual. It is rather small but the instructions are very clear. I did not notice any mistake so it is all good here. The pieces The part assortment is nice, i really like the green lime color. You get a decent amount of panels, beams, connector and pins. You also get some new pieces (or new to me?), and a winch with some string. Because i am not that good at this part, i will let the pictures talk for themselves. The first bag of parts. The second one. The build As you can imagine, the build process is super easy, i finished the model in 30 min and took the pictures in the same time. The steps are easy, there is no problem distinguishing the colors from the manual, all in all it was a relaxing build. Completed model After 30 minutes of intense building, you have in front of you a little green mean buggy. I really thing the modes is cute, and the Pull-back motor gives it a nice function. I am the kind of AFOL that only displays models so i won't really play with it, but still, the fact it has a function is ok. The one thing i do not like about it, is the fact is has no steering. The models is as big as 9392 Quad. So, lets see some photos of it finished. The other thing that i would have likes, was suspension. Yeah, i know it is a little set but at the selling price i think they could have squeezed in at least front suspension. After the build some extra pieces are left. Here they are ! Conclusion All in all, this is a nice little set, i really love the color and the fact that the designer of the set included some nice details on it: hood scoop, winch, exhaust pipes, roof lights. This is clearly a model for those who want a pull-back motor because, lets be hones, the price is a little steep for the piece count. Design: 7/10 - The desing is really nice and the colors are lovely ! Parts: 6/10 - The parts are ok, but nothing great. Price: 5/10 - This is the bad part of the set, because the pull-back motor pulls up the price. Playability: 8/10 - This is the part where the set shines, i must say the pull-back motor has some power and it is pretty fun to play with. Should you buy this set ? Yes, but only if you want a pull-back motor or you really like the design ! PS: Thank you for reading my review and if you have any thought on how to improve my skills, please let me know !
  15. I think 8275 is in the same category with 8285, they don't have such great functions but they look great. I looked over bricklink to see how much will it cost me to build it and it's veeeeery expensive. I was thinking of building it without the PF, just for display.
  16. Thank you for the excellent photos DrJB, maybe some day i will get 8275 too.
  17. Yeah, 8275 is a must get for me too, but it is very pricey and hard to get. Congrats for getting yours tho. May you be so kind to post a photo of it beside 8043 for comparison ? Thanks in advance !
  18. I think he is trying to say that he sold/gave away them.
  19. Very interesting sets and MOCs you got there, hope to see more of it !
  20. Just got 8109 and added it to my collection. Starting to run out of display space
  21. If i were you i would try to find 8069 at a good price and buy it asap. It is a very very good set with nice functions. Simple but clever !
  22. Nice little review, i like how they managed to put suspension on such a little Offroader.
  23. Woow, i am amazed. This is a great mix between Technic and normal Lego !
  24. @jantijeuh, yeah i mean successor of 8421, sorry for the mistake :(.
