  1. Yeah, I was always envy to my downstairs neighbour with the original islanders set. Now I have TWO rope bridges, in your face, David!
  2. Just a regular day in the village of chief Kahuka It's just right temperature for the eel fishing under that big rock. Hopefully there will be some eel stew for today's supper. The double rope bridge is the main and only dry entrance to the village. Kahuka's daughter Kotuna is on the guard duty in the old tree fortress. ...so Kahuka can properly take care of his chickens. After all two scrambled eggs for breakfast is the best start of the day!
  3. Sanjeev were relaxing in his terrace after another heavy dinner and was been thinking about how fast is the Hilto growing. Couple months ago he was been building the first house in the harbour from traded planks and debris washed on shore and the biggest excitement on the whole shore were the futile attempts of his cat to catch some seagulls and now he can't even see the hills through all the cityscape emerging around him.
  4. to the hands of the Executive committee of The Royal Society of Natural Philosophy: Honorable gentlemans Let me introduce myself. I am a lucky mayor of small but rapidly growing town Hilto located in Sabre island archipelago. Our population is thriving but our minds are dangerously dulling without any intellectual challenges and quests. We would be honored if your revered institution will be so charitable and grant our currently at-being-construction school and humble research center your cooperation in the matter of exchange of scientific facts and research but also in possibilities of possible further future cooperation in the fields of science, culture and philosophy. Our area of interest and study lies mainly in botany, focusing on digestible plants and herbs, as well as in improving the storage, transport and shelf life of aforementioned edibles, both medical and nutritional. Our goal is to establish a permanent and safe path by which these new goods can be moved back to the old continent. Thank You for Your time and in faith of future cooperation, Omni Al-Hash , ibn Ohnihash
  5. Hahaha, thanks, that's so frikkin cool! Allready two friends founded it randomly there! And as I had no idea about the blog you got yourself a new regular reader!
  6. Hah, due to the issues in real world I completely checked out from here for couple months and missed all your comments guys. Thanks all for them that definitely helped me a little to establish some sanity in this crazy times. New addition to the cityscape should come soon! I thought I lost my latest project but luckily I just found out some backups so I will not to have start again from scratch. It will complete the second side of the street and main topic will be arcades, porticoes and loggias. Man gotta love some repeating arches!
  7. Huh, thanks for the sheer, dully noted. I am aware of my cube-ish look and I'll try to tackle it although I am opting definitely more for lego look than photorealistic models. Soo.. what's the state-of-art lego hull now? Building it completely from scratch via hinges and snots? I have to admit that's little above my current skills. I can work with layers but these completely organic shapes are out of my league.
  8. So I am trying to build my first bigger ship. Nothing fancy, basically just playing with possibilities. My two questions: how do you build up from hull pieces? I did not found any corresponding bow ones, am I missing somethig or all lego set are building it from scratch? BrickLink - Part 2557c04 : LEGO Boat, Hull Large Bow 12 x 16 x 5 1/3, Top Color Dark Gray [Boat] - BrickLink Reference Catalog and second: does onybody found out some satisfactory method how to build latten sails in stud.io? Square sails are easy but if someone has a tip how to make triangle sail with some volume in it I am all ears! Generally I am not happy with the whole front/bow but for first ship I think I can live with taht and try to improve on the next one.
  9. Definitively good choice to change the blue to azure. Now it looks propper sandblasted and deserty.
  10. Funny little challenge. I got my lotii firecrackers for the first part of the challenge done. If some can help me how to propper name the prefixes in front of the MOC name, i"ll make them a propper introduction thread tommorow.
  11. We have a cavalry now? I need to import some camel scouts from Molokai as there is no better raider than me! As soon as I will get some me and Al Hakim will need to talk as a propper molokaians from the saddles
  12. For the view of the whole town I recommend you to visit it's page as I am posting it there
  13. Every city on the sea shore needs to have harbor and every harbor needs to have a place where sailors can ease their tensions after weeks crampend in the boats. Hilto is no exception. Right behing the harbor tower is inconspicuous house with big garden filled with sounds of girl laughs and glass clinks. The local speciality is an podium right above the cliffs. When tide is high there is a big chance that the working girl will get splashed by sea mist from top to shoes. This sight allready induced quite a big crowd of lonely sailors to pay extra for private session in upper floors and mere reminiscence couple weeks later to drink themself to oblivion or go to all night stroll on the board in the chilling winds. [ Just dont try the shrimps after midnight or you will end up like this sad pirateer. Pasha's have lot of benefits and pleasant surpires for their visitors but a good cook and fresh seafood are not on the list.
  14. New cityscape with added buildings: Hilto, Harbor quarter by omni hash, on Flickr
  15. Hilto's harbour, heart of every propper colony: One right corner proudly stands the tower of harbour administration. First couple floors are used for storage of more valuable goods, the top one is a nice openspace room for all accountants and harbor clerks with wiev to the whole harbour. On one end of the pier lives the fisherman/occasional warehouseman On the second one is the afforementioned warehouse for bulk goods: For some reason I totally forgot to make a topic about the build half year ago so better late than never. One question though - how to license harbor - is it commerce?
  16. Grand uncle Yossuf : that was interesting trip Omni Al-Hash: hmmm Grand uncle Yossuf : smooth as baby's bottom Omni Al-Hash: hmmm Grand uncle Yossuf : it's a shame we did not take Abdul with us Omni Al-Hash: hmmm Grand uncle Yossuf : what do you think he will say bout our little adventure? Omni Al-Hash: nothing Grand uncle Yossuf : what do you mean nothing? Omni Al-Hash: nothing ! You are telling cousin Abdul that we got offer for Vengeance which we coudn't refuse or he will never set sails again, capische? Grand uncle Yossuf : Tsss tsss, that's some shady bussiness here... Omni Al-Hash: Uncle would you rather paddling back to Sabre island? I can spend two days drinking the terraversan booze and laying on the sun instead of you to come with some propper excuses about our trip if you want. Grand uncle Yossuf :Oukey oukey, I am sealing my lips! Omni Al-Hash: hmmm
  17. Great execution off very bad idea :) You really don't want to put 32 pounder guns on small pontoon without some proper moving counterweight to counter the recoil force otherwise you would go swim after first couple shots or get butchered by snapped chain links. That being said I admire the build, it's clean and well executed with good attention to details - chains, ropes around the guns, and my favourite are lamps on the pontoon - that's definitely something I am saving for future use in some of my mocs. And most importantly:forestmen guys!
  18. I think it's hilarious, That's the true frontier story: emigrate around half off the world, start accommodating yourself in random hell hole, and then get your megablocks whooped, and yourself robbed and almost killed by random guardsmen who had one rum too much when you dared stick your nose outside your hut. Anyway I"m sending very angered letter to the Corrington Admiralty headquarters. I would expect this treacherous behavior from Oleon crazy zealots and not from someone who's shouting 'bout his respect to the orders and firm principles on every second step.
  19. By the Seven Seas who is this Quinsville captain and who allowed him to kick me from my flagship by something called gunboat no.2! Vengeance will be avenged!
  20. Thanks guys, I am pleased with the result too, specially for my first real microbuild. One question though - how do I license a micro build, are the same rules applied as for regular one?
  21. Every flourishing town needs its backyard providing the food and other necessities. Couple miles upstream by the Green creek lies a the one feeding the Hilto. Small hill provides a good enough location for defence and as a bonus great view to the lake. Food itself is not a big concern for the town yet, as the island waters are rich on fish shoals and crabs but the growing industry needs some raw materials to work with. After couple mishaps with the varieties from Mokolei villagers gave up for a while and purchased the seedlings of the most popular strains in Prio sea and they finally started to spur. Fruit orchards are almost ready to ripe too. The fruit will add nice touch to available food palette and when fully grown they can be added to shisha tobacco for flavours. The future is bright on Sabre island! The town itself consist of couple cottages and sheds around small square dominated by the mosque of Eternal Flame and the home of mayor / local headquarters of the tobacco company. Couple levies and little more digging created a moat around the village to ease villagers ease with irrigation of ever hungry tobacco crops.
  22. Taking advantage of nearby coffee plantation - [SR - FB] Coffee Plantation, Hellion - Brethren of the Brick Seas - Eurobricks Forums Omni Al-Hash started his first step for a proper multi island commercial empire. Coffee is a favorite drink in Mokolei and the local strains are completly unknown down there so he hopes for a big splash with the new brand. Wagon with fresh badge of coffee beans just arrived to the yard. Right about time for the morning brew.
