[SR - OKT] Eat at Oggy's
omnihash_cz replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
My general issue with the real builds here is that your bricks are completely new and not chewed at all :) All my pieces survived 3-5 generations of kids tooth and it left some bitemarks. First couple seconds I am always wandering- is it real or a render? The trans neeon lime beers looks propper refreshing. Love the mariachi, it's even one of couple minifig I own and I completely forgot about him for this challenge. Smoke chimney/exhaust above the grill is neat cute detail. -

The colors are superb. I will have definitely try this palette too. Great work with the tree and window details. What's the color of the door handle behind the tree? Metallic gold? -

[COR - Faction Flavours] Forger's Quarters, Hilto
omnihash_cz replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I totally missed this one even thought I am pretty sure I copied your floor to my roof couple weeks ago :) Firstly: the colours are great, this yellow-reddish brown-brown give it great monochrome vibe. Secondly:great first entrance to to Hilto settlement! Omni-al-hash and Sanjeev will definitely use this service in near future on regular basis. Good forger always comes handy in riskier enterprises. -
[COR-FB] Oktoberfest Regrets, Punto Sur

That's some witchcraft sir! Just kidding, I never played with Technic (if you wanna play with cogwheels use Merkur ffs!) so this techniques are quite a blackbox for me. I am not sure how to achieve this result in lego studio but boy I'll try! -

Cool I didn't know the 3macaroni exist! How do you flex the tree? Is there some hinge inside the trunk? -

Small square on the edge of the city was been temporary refurbished as a location for this year Porto Sur's oktoberfest. Couple tables, large beer keg from Punto Brau brewery, little something to eat, some makeshift dance podium and the party can start! Snacks are always welcome to compliment local ale in tropical heat. No one can refuse proper pretzel and chicken drum after couple pieces. And if you are more into women you can always hit the dance parket. Omni Al-Hash is already trying new pirouettes with governors daughter. The hours in Molokai evening dance school are finally paying off themselves. Gunnar is the leader of the silverhair gang. His first oktoberfest was 40 years ago but all he needed was couple jugs and nice bartender with promising smile to dance on the table like there is no tommorow. Licensed as large residence and hopefully selled to @Capt Wolf

Ad colors: both lime and lavender are my favorite, they enable much more subtle and cozy colors when they stand alone as primary build colors. Ad roof:Well it was customary in Europe to have propper colourful church roof and I think it's about time to bring this tradition back. For propper murals I would need a bigger roof, maybe next time.

This is frickin awesome! Great shape, I love the horseshoe cross section curve. As mentioned above, the color scheme is fantastic. I would prefer the lateen sail on the foremost mast but that's definitely creator choice. The white bottom front is some one piece?- 16 replies

Travelling geologist setted up his tent on spare firewood shelter empty since last year, He doesn't need much to crush most of wannabe golddigger dreams. Sorry man, that's coprolite. I am pretty sure you will not get rich on that stuff. Nah, I can't even imagine who would be interested in that. Maybe some more excentric nobles in Oleon?

Poppy Port is booming. Streets are filled with youngsters and newcomers. Summer evenings are mild and water in the bay is warm. Right under a city wall some Oleonian immigrant saw his opportunity and opened newest local venture: he started to rent couple rag tag boats on an hourly basis. Local kids seem to love it. Maybe even little too much. Their favourite game is catching the treasure. One boat is a raft with a pile of fake coins glued to its chest. Whoever is able to board and capture the boat is the King of the lower harbour for today. And if the raft is ridden by unsuspecting customer, you get extra points! Just the city guard tried to object that he is payed to check for intruders and not light up the lagoon for evenings shenanigans but couple coins kept him quiet. Except the moments when he has to use the blowhorn to prevent some kiddo from drowning.

Thanks. I copied the tooth idea from Prince of Persia MOC from here, so cudos goes to TAFOL: Basically 95% of interesting techniques I am using I got from this forum. Here is the tool I use for colours selection: https://ramblingbrick.com/2017/10/20/lego-colour-wheel/ And here is the angle helper: I strongly recommend to get to know both of them as it improves my results by couple leagues. -

Great roofing and horizontal tiling, especially in octagonal corners! What are the chimney tops? Just 3*4 tiles with 1x1 plates in corners? Only possible improvement coming to my mind: there should be at least some small windows/loopholes in top levels of towers to let some light in. -
Artisan: small Well, it’s funny, isn't it? As soon as Sanjeev and his melody boys started to work on harbor construction Uncle appeared. Nobody invited him nobody knew him he just simply appeared one day and started to barter tobacco for pickaxes and silver for lamp oil. In mere two weeks he already started to build his emporium and harbor workers tried to beat all silver from him twice. Placed on strategic corner right behind harbor warehouse and on the way to tavern Uncle was been able to exchange almost everything with booze-driven passersby. Sanjeev had to talk some sense to him and explained that for greater good of community it will be vise to leave sailors with at least enough coins to get some rum and sishkebabs for couple days. And here with surrounding builds:
