  1. 1. This isn't a mom-and-pop shop where mistakes are expected and can happen on a whim but rather a multi-billion dollar corporation with the resources to prevent mistakes as a basic as knowing which movie a product is from. It's not about a reshoot of the video or even him saying it's OT, it's the sheer lack of care and attention to detail. The fact that it's a fan-voted set and there isn't any attention to detail is rightfully concerning to customers who pay for a premium product. 2. The box logo is one of many mistakes with this set and the simplest to fix. Its occurrence is not a complaint but rather evidence of the lack of attention to detail for this fan-voted set. That along with the other statements "yellow clone" and "pilot=commander" are reasons for people not to complain but instead question TLG and ask for better products. 4. I bought the set cause I like the model but if some people don't buy the set and say their reasoning is one of the above I might disagree but they still have a point. I want more prequel sets and so to see the multiple "issues" with this set's release and outrage surrounding it kind of pisses me off cause it means TLG now has another reason to not make more prequel UCS sets. Thus, myself and others voice our concern in forums like this one and in comment sections so maybe, JUST MAYBE, TLG will do better with the next one and take our concerns as feedback rather than complaints from the "mob." 5. It wasn't a mob but a couple of comments in a forum that for the most part were civil so no need to blow it out of proportion. Also, the PR thing was a joke, so "take a joke."
  2. This is spot on. I still love a lot of the set designs but small mistakes here and there add up and are important for a toy like Lego that's very expensive in comparison to other "kids toys". Specifically, with the Gunship being a fan-voted set the neglect and consistent errors are worse because it feels like they really don't care. If I didn't know any better I'd guess you worked for Lego public relations. Anyway, I don't think people are calling for firings (and if they are then that's dumb) but rather a little more care given to an expensive product, whether its for kids or not. Also, the Gunship was the set in question and is $350 USD so it's definitely not meant for kids. Also, there is a difference between being entitled and having a fair expectation. It'd be entitled of me to cry about not getting Cody, a pilot or Jedi Bob however it is expected that TLG at the very least know what era a ship is from and don't make mistakes like incorrect logos. I know it's a little thing but if you're going to charge $350 USD for a Lego set then you should deliver a product with the correct logo.
  3. While Slave 1 and Gideon Tie are great choices I really hope we get a BB-based duo micro-fighter pack. I think the BB Shuttle with Hunter and Fennec's ship with her new fig would be a perfect set cause it'd be an easier and cheaper way to make figs available. I only say this cause the designers said they don't want figs to be locked behind a paywall so it would make sense to make figs like Hunter, Fennec, Boba, etc. available. Also regarding the recent Lego video on the Gunship, I find it funny and ironic that the one set that fan's voted for has the most issues and seems to not have been given the same care or focus as other sets. You would think since it was fan-voted it'd get more "support" but that doesn't seem to be the case cause from the videos and box logo it seems the designers simply do not give a ****. However, it has been sold out for a while on shop at home so hopefully, that means it sold well but I'm not sure if that is an actual indication of sales. Does anyone know if it is or is that standard with UCS releases? Note: My opinions on the Gunship have nothing to do with figure selection I quite like my pilot.
  4. I was speaking more in terms of battle packs and army building rather than all sets when talking about recent media. CW and Mando have got a lot of love recently and that's great but I am strictly talking about BP's rn. The snow troopers have been available in many sets in the last couple of years but I get that some people like you want a BP and that's cool but it doesn't change the fact that they have been available elsewhere yet are not present in recent media. The opposite is true for shinies and non-501st clone variants. Clones are always in high demand and have not been made readily available in the same way as other troops. I didn't mean to insinuate that you hated the prequels and I apologize if it came off that way but I was genuinely just pointing out that clone BP's, while less "safe" than OT BP's, would still sell well and should be tried by Lego because of there connection to media like the Bad Batch and CW-7. Hopefully, you and others in the thread are right and this is a UCS add-on because it is a perfect complement for the AT-AT but as a sole battle pack in the Jan wave, I'd be disappointed.
  5. I think you're forgetting that the last three SW properties are Mandalorian, CW S7, and the Bad Batch. The BP opportunities from these have not been capitalized on by TLG in favor of Hoth troopers, a safer choice, but not an exciting one. This has nothing to do with prequel hate but rather a missed opportunity to take advantage of the hype surrounding clones following the Bad Batch. However, I won't pass judgment until we see the entire Jan list cause there might be a cooler BP there and some newer media sets. Also on a more general note, the 501st set while a "battle pack" was twice the price of a BP and far less massable for the average fan whose Lego budget is limited. What many fans want is a cool Clone BP with multiple legions for 15 American Dollars. Now before you quote me and angrily write about how OT sets sell better I promise you I get it and I get why we're getting a Hoth BP and I get we'll never get a multi-legion Clone BP but I can hope. Anyway, I hope the UCS ATAT has an interior cause if it does I'll be buying this BP regardless of price.
  6. I think $20 is a bit steep for a BP even with inflation since we're still getting 4 figs and the same piece count (roughly). While I like snow troopers and welcome more army building I feel like it would make more sense to release something more related to the current SW media like clones (CW S7, BB) or imperial remnants (Mandalorian, TBBF). Also, I haven't heard anything about a rebel BP so I wouldn't assume we're getting one since they have done waves with BP's that don't correlate. Nevertheless, I think it's great we're getting a battle pack and hope we get more rumors soon.
  7. Wait I thought it was a GWP mini version like the 1989 bat-mobile from 2 years ago. I really hope we get a Nolan Ra's or Two-Face in the smaller version because I'm for sure getting the $230 model and I thought the small one was just a bonus. Also for those who have the Batmobile that's rating soon is it a good purchase or is the Batwing a better purchase/model.
  8. I love the list but I think better helmets would be: Boushh ($59.99) Wedge Antilles Helmet ($59.99) Salacious B. Crumb ($59.99) build like Imperial Scout Droid
  9. Kind of a spoiler for BB but not really but to be safe don't click if you haven't watched the finale.
  10. I know they're not all popular but I'd really like Sid, cloaked Rex, Vice Admiral Rampart and Kaminoan figures. I think they'd all be great figs since they were/are allies and main villains of the batch and I think they're multiple sets they could come in. Admiral Rampart could come with a Imperial Attack Shuttle or Imperial Venator (formerly Republic) Rex with his Blue Y-Wing Sid with her shop Kaminoans with V-Wings (though scorch would be super cool) While I also want a BP from the Bad Batch I'd like to see TLG do sets from each D+ show (at least 3 per) cause at some point they have to take a break from the main movies and do the new ships and new characters some justice.
  11. I think that image is fake but I thought it was true that the 150 brickheadz was SW and Jar-Jar. I thought it was confirmed by the insta Lego leak accounts.
  12. I'd rather they cut corners and at least give us commandos rather than not give us commandos at all. I think its highly unlikely we see the amount of sets and new characters, including scorch and other commandos, that we would like to from the BB S1. Maybe when S2 comes around next year we could see a couple of the prominent characters: Sid, Rex, Tarkin, Howzer, Rampart, Lana Se, Young Fennec, Cad Bane, Kaminoan Prime Minister, Young Hera and commandos but only if they return. SO if they can do it and save money buy not making a mold then I'm ok with that I don't think its that bad considering other shortcuts TLG has taken. I think in terms of helmets they should continue the "wave" method that we've seen the last 2 years. If they want to do more imperial they can but I think the next "wave" should be Clones from different battalions. Then they could do a "collect them all" series and one for each battalion rather than extra parts for each.
  13. Could say the same about oldhead OT fans who want things just as with absolutely no change ever
  14. I don't think this is an accurate rep of what Disney has done at all. Theres been references to all SW media in Rebels, Mando, Solo and there have been books and comics for all eras ( more for OT then either sequel or prequel). The additional season of CW and BB (which is imperial but we'll count it anyway) doesn't even come close to the 4 seasons of Rebels, Rogue One Movie, Vader Comic line, BF2 Campaign, and Fallen Order that the OT got. While you are correct that appealing to nostalgia works lets not act like Disney has made attempts to bolster the prequels when they haven't and won't do so in the future. I don't think Disney needs to make more prequel content and I'm more excited for the new OT stuff than anything but I had to respond cause it was a mischaracterization of Disney's prequel treatment. Also mods I know this was off topic so my bad.
  15. While I agree that Disney has neglected the prequel trilogy that doesn't mean Lego shouldn't make a couple of sets every now and then from that trilogy. I think the "hate" for the OT stems from a lack of prequel (not just Clone Wars based) sets. Theres many things from the prequels that should be remade or deserve an update: CIS ships, a new Dooku minifig, multiple clone commander from Order 66 scene, a Shmi Skywalker fig, a newer bounty hunter chase, AT-TE, and Genoisian Arena. Recently they've done a great job with fan demand for new shows but the stark difference between prequel and OT sets is something they should fix. On a more general note, you can be critical of Lego without attacking the team (who design excellent sets) rather you should be critical of TLG. Criticism of the designers doesn't really help cause they're not the ones who decide what sets get released and when, however when they do say idiotic stuff like the yellow clone remark they should be called out. Also blindly defending TLG every-time someone mentions they could improve their set choices/asks for more prequel content isn't smart either and comes off as bootlickery (not aimed at anyone and I'm not sure if its a word) and counter productive since there is a lot of improvement that can and should be made from a marketing and internal structure standpoint. A lot of the mishaps and leaks that we see with Lego SW has to do with a marketing/leadership team that makes a lot of mistakes like the dumpster fire LegoCon, LAN leaks (most recently with the Camp Nou Stadium set), and most basic of all the republic insignia on the Gunship box. To be clear, I'm not calling for anyone to be fired or anything like that (So pls don't misinterpret what I'm saying) but they could at least try to improve and make changes especially for a future legocon and future leaks. IMO Without leaks reveals would feel more satisfying and overall cooler for both AFOLs and young kids/general consumers. Again just my two sense but let me know if you agree cause I think that's how a lot of people feel.
  16. I got those emails too but one of my orders now says shipped while the other is backordered/in warehouse (depending on the item). I'd guess January list drops September and definitely by October. I remember back in October the youtubers did videos on the set pictures leaking so can't be long now.
  17. Does anyone know if Lego releases sales numbers or at-least reports on which sets are popular and which aren't? The only way I can think to tell if something is popular is if it retires later than the expected 1.5-2 year cycle. I ask the question because I want to know if the OT UCS sets like the A-Wing and Y-Wing actually sell well. I always wondered why there was a lack of prequel sets but after joining this forum and watching yt videos I understood that it was due to a lack of sales and decreasing interest on the last prequel UCS set, the Obi-Wan Starfighter. However I don't understand where that talking point comes from. The set was retired (1y 4m) very early in comparison to the other UCS sets around that time, Imp Shuttle (2 y 3m) and SSD (2y 9m), so I guess that was there motivation behind focusing solely on OT. However over the next 7-8 years the B-Wing, Assault on Hoth, and Y-Wing all were retired fairly early after less than a year and a half; and assuming that early retirement means poor sales or a lack of interest why not shift back to prequel sets or try out UCS for the sequel trilogy. The A-Wing hasn't retired yet but I can't imagine its sales have been great and the Star Destroyer is always available and never gets put on backorder/sold out which tells me it ain't selling well either. That's not to say that prequels would sell better but Lego doesn't know that for sure because they haven't tried. My point is why is there a consensus in this forum and by Lego that prequel UCS won't sell if its been 10 years since one came out and no concrete numbers are ever released. Also I wan't on the internet ten years ago so for those of you who were was there a consensus that prequels sucked or that the prequel lego stuff wasn't popular. From what I remember I loved getting the prequel era stuff but maybe that was just me. Also I know the Gunship didn't win by a landslide 90% but considering it got 58% of the vote thats more than the combined vote totals of the 2 OT sets combined. Even if some idiots don't put there money where there mouth is I'd imagine sales will still be good or at-least better than the less popular OT UCS. Anyway that was just my two cents after reading through some old comments in this forum and doing a bit or research on retirements of UCS sets. Hopefully I conveyed the point i was trying to correctly.
  18. I think this sentiment is exactly what people have been asking for and will be answered by Lego because of the new D+ SW slate. Even if the shows aren't super successful (I'm sure they will be) they will have to make at least 1 or 2 sets on each show so we should get some more varied waves. I know there haven't been any real leaks on 2022 sets but I'd guess the first wave in Jan would include a BOBF set and some of BB stuff so we should keep getting more non-film-based sets
  19. I feel like an underbelly of technic and then a plates on top could suffice but I've never been much of a structural builder so I don't really know how they'd do it. My question would be how they would incorporate the shifting wings it at all. They used rubber bands last time but I don't think that would work with a model of UCS proportions, of course that would only matter if they added that functionality which I don't think they have to since it is UCS. We'll probably only get to see a prequel set like the ARC-170 until after the Gunship sales are over or at least near retirement cause I'd bet we see a couple more OT UCS ships like Vader's fighter, the bomber, and Nebbie cause they def have those designed already.
  20. While I agree with virtually everything you said I think it is true that certain people and viewpoints are given special treatment by mods. Whenever a certain youtuber is attacked or slandered in this thread mods don't really do anything to stop it until it gets really bad (ie pages of slander/argument). Also when discussing the gunship voters people in this thread, including myself, do come to the assumption that only young people voted for it and that minifgs are their only reason for not buying the set. The desire for good minifgures is Lego's fault because they put a minifg vote in their poll. I know we don't know the result but they should never have put it there in the first place since "minifgs are a bonus" to UCS sets. I guess my point is that for the younger people who voted in this poll that vote was a sign that they could get there minifig and since they might never have bought a UCS set before or they might have not known that UCS sets aren't about minifigs they are reasonably frustrated. ANYWAYS, I love the Gunship and think its an absolute beauty of a set. Now I'm hoping they can do a ARC-170 that I can put by its side soon.
  21. I arrived to my Lego stores 1 hour before it opened and by the time I got there I was probably the 80th or 90th person in line. When I got into the store they had 6 gunships left and luckily I got the 5th to last one. They were sold out of the fighter, starship (which the sales associates kept emphasizing was not the Slave 1 ), shuttle, and marauder. I got the final duel set they had but other than the cruiser and chamber they had sold out the whole wave. I have to say I didn't think they'd sell out that fast (33 minutes according to my watch) but luckily I got my order in for the fighter last night and that's the one I wanted day 1. Unfortunately still no confirmation email on my slave 1 or marauder order but I did get charged so I'll have to call to make sure they're on there way. The positive I take away from today is that the in-person Gunship sales (at both locations I frequent) bodes well for more prequel UCS or maybe that just my hope. But then again "Rebellions are built on hope" The Chamber and Shuttle which I preordered are arriving tomorrow but with the delays I don't know for sure. Anybody received any of their preorders? Also the Pre Visla backpack might be the worst I've ever seen. I'm kind of glad they didn't make packs for the Batch cause if they did that I'd have hated displaying them. I'm still really excited for the forge cause it looks fantastic.
  22. I only got one confirmation email (Mando Fighter) so I think I got screwed but I'm holding out hope. Everything is still in stock right now so I might order it again but I doubt my local store (or any for that matter) will run out of anything other than the gunship and fighter.
  23. Same except i had to do 2 orders cause fighter wasn't loading at first. I'm risking it and am not buying the Gunship online. I want it in person so i got the Slave 1, Marauder, Forge (pre order), and fighter cause I really wanted those.
  24. I'm gonna go tomorrow to my local Lego store like i did on May 4th and when I called them they said its first come first serve and that there will be a line outside starting at 9 AM 3 hours before they open. I would suggest getting their early if you want to get your hands on something like the Gunship/Shuttle but if you want the Duel or Marauder I think you're safe to get their late as it won't sell out fast. I did want to ask if anyone knows if the sets go live on Lego.com at Midnight or 9PM for those of us on the West Coast cause I know they for East Coast its 12 but I never do online release day shopping so I don't know for sure.
  25. Considering its $800 and could go over 1000 in certain currencies I feel like they'd have to give more than the standard two. I'd expect Veers, 2 drivers, 2 snowtroopers. Maybe they'll throw in a Pilot Luke and make it the same as the Summer 2020 model but I doubt it. As the designers have emphasized this year UCS is about the model so I don't think we'll see anything special like a mustache rebel or snowspeeder pilot.
