  1. I think its a fair point that Lego is a little too secretive but at the same time, I don't think it applies to a lot of the ships and possible sets we see this season in Mando. I don't see them making a Gozanti from this show because it's not as recognizable as a Mandalorian vehicle and it isn't a popular Imperial one. If there was anything spoilery to make from this season I would guess a new larger gauntlet like some suggested, the pirate ship with the green head honcho, and obviously the new outfits for all the main characters expecially you know who. A battle pack would have been great as would a small scene depicting However, those two set ideas might have been way too spoilery and ruined the reveals in episode 7. They would work well as Jan sets to start next year off strong.
  2. While I agree that those are all great sets I can also name a couple of bad ones that are grossly overpriced: Grevious Starfighter, Imperial Shuttle, Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader (the grey block one) & the Knights of Ren Transport. That's not to say they're all awful cause I picked a couple during Costco & Amazon discounts for 20-40% off but I would never have bought any of them for full price because they are not worth the price point Lego has chosen. It will depend on our preferences so it's a bit of a moot point but I do think it's fair to say a couple of the lower-priced sets are not worth their selling price. On your other point about UCS, you're not supposed to buy those for mini-figs. The $600 price tag for a UCS set isn't so they will give you 20 figs but rather a massive displayable build, figures shouldn't be the draw for UCS sets they are merely a bonus. I do wish they would get rid of stickers since it is a corner cut that isn't necessary at the price point.
  3. I mean he's not wrong and the affiliate links r a given for yters. The dioramas are at least $10-25 overpriced even though they all look pretty great and uber-expensive sets being the best sets is true and kinda sad cause it feels like Lego does know how to make a set really worth it but just doesn't care to do so for sets under $150.
  4. I found them in my local Target but they wouldn't sell them to me cause they were street dated. It's the 3rd set I've found on shelves that's street-dated at this specific target. It is pissing me off cause I've seen vids online of people buying sets early across the country and not being stopped which leads me to believe my Target's just being an opp.
  5. TBH I don't trust anything Lfebricks is saying cause he's missed so many times like with Rex in the Swamp or the Jabba's palace earlier this year. Unless promobricks, falcon, or someone like that is posting (ie that one Redditor who had proof) I'd say take it with a large grain of salt. Also on the GWP If it was a fig I don't see why Moff would be chosen. He should be made widely available in a set as he will be in the Mando finale and is the main villain. IMO GWP figs should be things like Aunt Beru where they might not sell super well as a whole set but work well as a special thing for May 4th and hardcore LEGO SW fans. With that said I am formally requesting the GWP be a Babu Frick, Dexter, or Nien Numb as I feel I am personally owed one upon rewatching the entire saga.
  6. That's just not what I said you can rather have whatever you like I could care less but saying a UCS set @ $350 is the same as a playscale set @ $120 is silly. Exactly
  7. Not even remotely close to the same thing; UCS at $350 isn't aimed at the same customer as a $120 play-scale gunship. If you use this logic micro fighters and UCS are the same so we've had 3 rRzorcrets in 3 years and 3 AT-AT in 2 years. I'd like to say more but I don't wanna get told off by mods so alls I'll say is its a silly way of thinking.
  8. Given that we're getting Fox and shock troopers I assume the set has to be from CW or ROTS cause Fox and shocks weren't in AOTC but only during the CW.
  9. The prices of a lot of things not just Lego have drastically increased as of late but yes I would categorize what Lego is doing as "beyond ridiculous." In regards to the Gunship, BP, and Swamp Speeder poor PPP and higher prices has to do with the fact that CW/prequel fans will go hard for any new clone legion. I think it's a fair assumption to make that the 2020 501st set selling like hotcakes at the $30 price point has led to the Swamp Speeder's high price given its an easier way to acquire the 332nd trooper, same is true for the shock troopers in the gunship but less so because there is always one flagship set at $160-$170. The dioramas on the other hand are stupidly overpriced because their target customer isn't a young dumb clone-crazed, die-hard SW fan (like myself) but rather an older fan who grew up on the OT and won't realize (or care) that they're getting fleeced. All they see are dioramas that all look fantastic and very sleek with the black base. They can use it for example like my dad as a perfect office backdrop or in a den of some kind; its a really great display piece that doesn't look like a toy but is a great reminder of your fav movie. TLG markets the sets as "adult" so they can milk them for every dollar they can possibly get; which is perfectly fine cause making money is the goal at the end of the day but it is sad for us collectors. I have no concrete explanation for the non-diorama/non-army building sets being super overpriced other than inflation and corporate greed. The new Fang & TIE set is the perfect example of this cause while the TIE is a beauty those 4 figs r megablocks and the Fang's wings don't seem to rotate which is gonna suck. $100 dollars is way too much for that one. In regards to the $649 UCS Venator, I don't think anyone's purchase would hinge on the set having or not having Rex or any clone for that matter, and given TLG saying they didn't want to lock desired figs behind massive paywalls I would say it's a safe bet that the Rex won't be exclusive though the Yularen and the bandaid on rex might be. In that same way the inclusion of figs won't make anyone buy the set their inclusion shouldn't deter people either. Most people spending $649.99 on the set will be CW or at least prequel SW fans who are buying for a very intricate and fantastic model so a clone's inclusion will only be a bonus. It's a day one buy for me regardless of if it had figs but I'm very happy to get them either way cause it will mean that everyone who complained about the Gunship figs (including myself) will have no reason not to support this prequel UCS which will lead to the holy grail, dare I say it: ***ARC-170*** in the year of our lord 2025 for the 20 year anniversary of the GOAT SW movie ROTS.
  10. I've been gone for like 2 weeks cause of finals and it took even longer to go through all the discussion but boi was it entertaining and I'm glad to be back In more pressing news I just saw that the stuff promo bricks posted was real meaning this is the single greatest year of LSW in my adult collecting life. This takes me back to the waves of sets we used to get during peak Clone wars except this time I have a job and I can actually buy all of it. Personally, I'll be buying all of them but specifically 10 of the swamp speeder cause I live in the 332nd troopers. Also, I really hope that everyone who's talked about wanting prequel stuff and different clone battalions goes out and buys these sets cause the only way to actually get more is by showing TLG that we like this without wallets. I genuinely crying tears of joy nobody will fully understand how happy I am to get a Captain Vaughn because I think it could genuinely open TLG up to making more clone figs like him.
  11. Both are very valid points. The Justifier is just priced and sized incorrectly. If TLG made it smaller and added one more fig (Lana Se perhaps) at the $100-$120 price tag it would sell really well. The build is beautiful and I really like the interior tho it is limited. Also Omega's a good fig and at $100 would be more of a draw. The UCS & playscale discussion is inherently dumb. There have been many instances where UCS and play scale versions have been on shelves at the same time. The gunship being a prequel UCS actually benefits it in this way because a play scale version would sell much better and to a wider audience than the UCS which is price-locked for many younger fans.
  12. Look I get whining gets bad sometimes and some YouTubers don't help the cause but why can't people want clone commanders who are extremely popular characters in the franchise in the modern era of SW? Rex, Wolffe, and Gree are far more prominent than many of the characters Lego has made in the past who have little to no screen time. Rex has quite literally appeared in the most SW content of any side character outside of the main Jedi, Han & Chewie, and R2/3PO. The way people on this forum make it seem unreasonable to want a figure that has more lines than half the imperials who have appeared over the years is baffling; in this year alone we had Sloan who has only appeared in 4 comic books and 2 videos games. I bring her up since the argument for not making clones is that they appear in animation and animation isn't popular but then why make a character like Sloane and not Piett or Finn? The reason is they have the freedom to do whatever characters they want from whatever media they want. TBH we should have been having clone commanders, Dr. Aphra, Dexter, Shmi, and Cal Kestis but for god knows why we never will. Also, that Gunship rumor is def false no way it happens this year. The scene choice would make no sense.
  13. As much chance as there being a perfect March Madness bracket
  14. I'd say the customers for a playset wouldn't be deterred from buying a $130-$170 play scale Gunship due to the $350 UCS version being on shelves at the same time. The UCS models are aimed at AFOLS, collectors, and invested SW Fans while the play scale could be bought by any random parent, Lego fan, SW fan, or little kid who has seen CW, BB, or PT. The groups they'd be marketing to are different and not just regulated to PT fans, in addition, I'd argue that a play scale Gunship would be easier to sell to kids and parents (the main customer group) because it's more recognizable to kids TODAY than any OT set other than an X-Wing, TIE, DS, or MF (I emphasize today so you guys don't jump on my head Ik OT is more popular with more people). The CW show is very much more popular than people give it credit and those kids who watched it growing up from 2009-2015 when they were young are now some of the key customer groups.
  15. I have to disagree with a UCS Ghost appearing anytime soon, a playscape Ghost is far more likely IMO it should be the $139.99 set. Even with the Ahsoka show coming there's no way Lego commits the $650 price point to a ship from an animated show that most SW fans would not have watched (I have and I would buy one but still majority & OT rules UCS). Also, UCS and sets in general are determined a year or two before their actual release so I doubt they could have timed it to release alongside the show since Ahsoka was meant to come out earlier this year but everything got pushed back. I do think the Venator however is on the table given the ISD's recent retirement and the set being $50 dollars cheaper than the ISD pushes me to think it could be a prequel. I could see DS2 with more details and maybe interior elements but I would think with inflation and the increase in piece count leads it to be a capital ship rather than a DS2. However, my number one guess is still an MBS set simply because it has been 3 years since the last one, and at the price point and piece count I could see a large Endor Bunker with Ewok Village for the Return of the Jedi 40-year anniversary. We've seen the ESTB get anniversary sets and the OT as a whole get them as well so I don't see why ROTJ wouldn't either. I know Lego doesn't officially do runs like Hasbro and some other toy companies but coinciding an Endor MBS with the 40-year anniversary just makes too much sense. Edit: Could also be an MBS Sail Barge or Jabba's Palace keeping with the ROTJ "anniversary" theme.
  16. They did a while ago, falconfan mentioned Jabbas throne existed but might not come out anytime soon. Without new concrete info and so many different sources saying differing things I think the major leakers r staying conservative until the set descriptions drop soon.
  17. TBH for the people on this forum who are collectors and keep up to date with discounts we know that there will be the standard 20% discount at Target & Amazon and while that can still be expected the new price just balance out the automatic post-release discount. The Microfighter would usually drop from $9.99 to $7.99 but will now fall from $15.99 to $12.99 and the Snub will go from $35 to $28 instead of from $30 to $24. Effectively you're paying the price if either set would have been released at pre-price hike prices.
  18. Much like the rest of you, I don't like the new prices of the sets but I think the average fan is gonna let it slide cause it doesn't look as egregious with the added Grogu and new helmet. The snub fighter increase feels like pure greed cause even if it was $30 flat there should have been one more figure or element or something extra added. Overall both sets are discounted pickups for me but for the average fan, they won't lead to the significant pushback we need against the recent Lego price hikes. I think @Mandalorianknight mentioned it earlier but releasing their profit #'s and announcing increasing revenues every year since 2018 on the same day they announced these new sets and prices is so crass that I truly believe their PR department is a single intern who gets paid in piece cups and runs a horrible Instagram account. Mando + BB Spoilers
  19. I don't think the new executor means the Jabba's throne room set isn't happening. I think it just means the original leaked numbers are probably off, it happened a couple of years ago with a summer wave howeverthat might be wishful thinking on my part. The midi-scale executor does look fantastic but I think its about 20 dollars too expensive. I will wait for a sale of double VIP to buy though I did pre-order as soon as i saw the insta posts cause I thought it was a Nebulon-B Frigate situation.
  20. TBF The 327th legion isn't his and nor is the one from season 7. Mace doesn't work with just one legion but rather moves between them when needed. I think the Lego team just aren't the biggest fans of SW (which is ok they're all pretty old) so they don't really see the nuance of releasing the 327th legion but not a 41st legion or Nova or whatever else you and I might want. Again this goes back to Lego SW designers not being huge fans like us. I used to think it was a bias against prequels and clones but then I realized there's no bias they just don't care as much as we do so unless instructed by Disney (say for the release of a movie or show) we are not always gonna get the popular thing currently desired by the community. Would love an ANH scene with a Mon Mothma figure. The Home One with Ackar could be good too. If it didn't have to be connected in any way I'd love a Dexter Jester in his diner in a similar scale to Aunt Beru and Lars Homestead, however, we're probably never getting that since Dexter doesn't get the love any more.
  21. The new helmets look great and I'll definitely pick up the Rex & Cody on day 1. Boushh is an interesting choice and more than iconic enough to warrant its inclusion in a relatively new line of sets. Also, the video they dropped for the clone helmets includes a reference to CT-5555, (Fives) otherwise known as the single greatest clone ever. This means they know who he is and choose not to make a fig. I pray they change their mind about him and we get a fig or some of the other popular clones at some point.
  22. TBF they do on literally all other star wars products except Lego which for some reason can't stick to a specific box design/color for specific eras or the theme as a whole. I love uniformity so that's always my one wish, truly uniform boxes.
  23. More than a potential Rex mini-fig I think it points to a republic variant of Crosshair in the future cause his helmet never made sense without a new p2 mold with holes and his republic outfit is the one big D+ era SW character I can think of that we haven't gotten (outside Omega). The clones looking similar to the 2020 models is something I'm really happy/supportive of cause I hate when figs from the same armies look drastically different. The changes to the Stormtrooper every 2 years make it hard to have an army that looks like they fit together since they don't keep a constant design and is the best example of what I think needs changing. I'm not sure if it's just me but why would Omega even need a new mold. Her hair, torso, and legs could be variants of young Anakin and Luke's hair in a diff color and I doubt TLG would do a special one-time mold for her bow.
  24. I think the gunner will either be updated printing like you said or there'll be a 212 airborne trooper as a "gunner" and promo bricks confused the too cause of grainy images. Ure right about the mold but I think investing in a good mold for clones was a long time coming but even so p2 hole is a big step.
