10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Triceron replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I was thinking that but they might be cheating the perspective and tossing the shields from the front into the little armory. I was thinking about this since one of the horses is shown stabled, and we know there's only 2 horses in the set, so there's some trickery involved with the placement of certain things. In every shot, you'll only ever see them display 2 yellow shields, 2 blue shields. I'm hoping it's 3 and 3, but I haven't seen any official shot where we see more than 2-and-2 being used. Like even this full minifig shot, we see one of the figures holding a banner and it's taken down from the castle. And we only see 2 yellow shields, 2 Blue shields displayed altogether here.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Triceron replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's officially Lion Knight's Castle, so not King or Queen. --- So looking at the shields, it looks like there's only going to be 2 classic style Blue Liont and 2 Yellow Lion shields, and one special Lion shield for the Queen. I was hoping that there would be more Crusader shields in this set, since the original Lion King's Castle had 4 of each color. Also as others noted, I was a bit surprised the Forestmen don't get a shield in this set, and all use the same torso. I was really hoping to see a blue collar or classic V-neck variation of the Forestmen torso. But it seems like the new torso is a mix of the Red collar and V-neck combined, which I don't mind too much. I guess it makes sense as the old Forestmen will still be considered rare and highly valued.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

So I just noticed the barding supports them standing up. Good on Lego for figuring that out. The return of the Black Falcon open Conic helms is a nice touch. I really hope those make it their way to Pick a Brick. Hell, I hope a lot of these new torso prints make it there. The set is warming up to me the more I look at it. It does seem to have a lot of hidden play features to it, and the rooms look fairly modular. I like the look of the castle much more when it's closed up though, much more like Lowenstein Castle.- 2,976 replies

https://www.lego.com/en-ca/product/lion-knights-castle-10305 Looks like I found the link to the Canadian release. $499.99 CAD, a decent price. Still higher than what I prefer it to be, but better than the $550 conversion that 399.99 euro would be. I would have preferred this to be $450 CAD. August 8th release, with August 3rd for VIP. Hopefully the Forest Hideout returns for this.- 2,976 replies

Mixed feelings on this reveal. There's lots of easter eggs to classic Castle and Crusaders/Black Falcon themes. I'm happy to see the return of the Visor helmet, and the gold version actually looks pretty slick. Great new flags and cape too. The overall build is quite flat and basic though, I expected a bit more detail to the walls. I'm also not a big fan of the new bardings, but at least we have something. Also the price is definitely gonna have me wait for a big sale before I bite down on this one. Will wait and see how people might moc this up.- 2,976 replies

You could try cheesing the system. I did once by returning my order after a 2X VIP event that happened right before black friday, impulse buy. Bought the Medieval Castle 3-in-1, but Blacksmith was on sale on Amazon so I returned the 3-in-1. I returned it to the Lego store and the guy said he could give me a gift card back for the purchase, but I needed to return the GWP or pay the difference. Luckily the guy was super nice and let me keep the GWP no charge because it was around Christmas, dude was awesome. I figure if you pay the difference it'd be like buying the set direct. You're just tying up cash on a gift card, but that can be used towards your next online purchase anyways when better stuff comes out. Of course, mileage may vary. I'm not sure if all places hold this policy.

They're subtle enough where I'm totally okay with them used together. I feel like the new Falcon shields are way more different than the old ones that make em stand out a lot more, they don't have the big blue borders around them. I'm interested in seeing what updates we get with the Lion crests. Hopefully they come in both versions of colors, and veeerryyy much hoping they appear in PAB like the Falcon shields and torsos are right now. I kinda wish I knew about PAB earlier, as I would have probably got ~$30 worth of figures and start a little army going instead of dropping $50 on a Santa sleigh.

Website isn't showing my order so I can't track my package. Must be super bogged.

Huh, they softened the features of the Deer's face. Interesting.

https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/viking-ship-and-the-midgard-serpent-31132 Comes out August 1st.

I'm surprised there's conflicting information here on Pick a Brick counting towards the goal. Really wonder what the issue is.
-
You can get even more in the stores. I think also coinciding today in store is a ~10-pc oldschool classic bricks polybag duck, and a Ninjago polybag for anything Ninjago over $40

Done and Done. Feels good, man.

Tax does not factor into it, you need to reach the threshold before taxes. I'm not sure what the threshold is in USD unfortunately. Blacksmith here in CAD is $199.99 before taxes, and GWP is $190 and over so it works for us Okay that's good to hear. Thanks for the confirmation, I think Canada works on EST as well. Had a friend wait for 9pm day before June 1st for the release of the Ferrari, so that was the first time I was aware of timezone shenanigans.
-
So any one know how timezones factor into this? I'm on West Coast Canada. Just want to make sure it'd be 9pm PST, and not 12am PST wait. I think it's nation-wide counting for online purchases right?
-
I love the play by plays, haha. So exciting :P I still have 4 more hours to wait here.
-
Is there anywhere else that confirms the August release? I'm in this same boat but don't really want to take the chances of passing up the June GWP if somehow this August one ends up being wrong. This guy is a former designer so we should be able to trust this information, right?

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Triceron replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's too much of a gamble. I would ideally love to pick up sets of August 2nd to 14th, but there are big problems with that too because major release will be August 1st, and there is always a chance of Castle selling out on August 1st as well. I remember buying Winnie the Pooh day 1 within hours of release online. My wife's cousin was unable to get it later in the same day; it was sold out by noon. And even then, it's hard to say whether there will even be enough GWP in August to go around. I may pick up a second GWP box since I plan on getting Monkie Kid Heavens Realm, and I don't think that one will sell out any time soon.- 2,976 replies

Same here. I was gonna get a couple Orchids when those came back on the store a couple days ago, but yesterday they were sold out again. I'll have to keep refreshing to see what's still in stock by the time the new GWP rolls around...

It'll get covered on Promobricks and other Lego news outlets as soon as it's revealed, so you can just catch that when that happens. That's what I did when Promobricks first unveiled their Castle leak from their video, they immediately uploaded articles onto their site.- 2,976 replies

43693pb04 There's only 2 sets it comes from, so it is a bit of a rare find. It came out last year, so it is a very new skull.- 28 replies

I have fond memories of the movie, I really enjoyed it when I was a kid. I'm more of a minifigure guy, and I think the General could use a better skull or helmet. The new Ninjago skulls might work, and they have helmets that might fit the look better https://img.joomcdn.net/29a8166964f46d320aa596cf60e75f734a222934_original.jpeg This is from Ninjago Skull Sorcerers Dragon- 28 replies

REVIEW: 80039 The Heavenly Realms
Triceron replied to Pchan1983's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
We used to have MK sets in Lego stores here in Canada. Last few trips I haven't seen any. The last I saw was the wave with the Bone Demon mech. Surprisingly I've seen some MK sets sold at other online retailers, so I'm not sure how exclusive these really are. I plan to pick this up if it ever goes on sale on Amazon.- 5 replies
