  1. Oh, I didn't mean for you to do that, and I certainly wouldn't ask you to! Interceptor, Avenger, no matter the name, I like it just fine as it is! That said, you did a great job with this version, so if you do decide to reshape the panels, I'd love to see that, too.
  2. Ah, you're speaking of the pod section. The solar array is what had me sold on it being an Interceptor as, with the exception of the "profile picture" on Wookiepedia, all the shots of the Avenger on that page feature wings comparable in size to Vader's x1, but with cutouts on the vertical sections to give the panels almost an H shape. Interceptor: Rear, \_/ Front, /|_|\ Avenger: Rear&Front /|_|\ Clicky That's the Avenger I've known since the 90's, as they were seen in TIE95 (a game I spent many, many hours playing with my dad's beat-up old joystick way back when). I'm still inclined to believe that the shape of the wings belongs to the Interceptors and that the featured picture on the Avenger page is incorrect or perhaps just taken from an angle such that you can't properly see the /|_|\ shape to the rear of the solar array, making it appear as though it is simply \_/, as your model is. I may be entirely wrong and I certainly don't mean to detract from your model, or derail the thread. As I mentioned before, regardless of source/reference, it is a great build (and, hey, by contesting this point, I'm keeping it up near the top of the page, getting you views! )
  3. "I uh, I take it back. That farmer wasn't just sendin' us on a nature walk." Thormanil will attack Scary Crow A from the front row. Bah, you would
  4. Thormy equips the White Marksman Hat for the upcoming battle. Oh, and the way it's currently written, Althior appears to be controlled by "and Finnegan". Just nitpicking while we wait on "and Finnegan" to show up
  5. Wouldn't this model be a TIE Interceptor, not Avenger? Either way, it's very sleek and I like it, especially considering it's rebuilt mostly from two sets.
  6. So, here's a question. Level Up Mushroom. If I were posades right now, I'd save it until after I hit 20 (or even, hang onto it until I hit Lv40 just to maximize its usefulness at the cost of a large delay). That said, if he used it now, I can't imagine that it would drop him at an awkward Lv 20 1/2. At level 19, "A Full Level" is worth 2 battles, while at 20, it's worth three, so would it drop him at 20 1/3 or 20 2/3? Merely a point of curiosity on my own part.
  7. "Corn maze, apple orchard? Sounds more like a day at the harvest festival than a monster infested region! But hey, I'm the green one here. Lead on, Benji!" Stats look good to me. Doc, if we go to the corn maze, someone should use your White Marksman's Hat, if not you, just judging on the monsters from before.
  8. Time to reroll Docken as a yeti, it seems.
  9. Refer to that bit I said the other day about certain QM's I'd really like to quest under. Plus, activity. I know that, for example, I had the chance to tag along with Q51 (or, at least, to toss my name in the hat for it). It was a short quest, but somehow Flipz racked up well over 500 gold (while others' gold gains from the quest were closer to 100-200 gold). I didn't look into why, but obviously there was the opportunity to profit there. Had I not been trying to salvage my semester during that time, that would have been a great little quest to bide the time that I passed up on. Little things like that can really add up in the long run.
  10. It's terrifying watching the power creep. I always feel like I'm playing a huge game of catch-up. And then I remember that I have an artifact that is essentially a mithril upgrade that goes weapon-to-weapon, once I finally start my QM'ing career. E: And even with that, Thormy would still barely be able to scratch Docken.
  11. Oh sure, Thormy puts some proper clothes on just as everyone decides that shirtless is the new hip thing! Typical. In other news, I was reading back through the early pages of this thread to try and find some battle-balancing tips, when I stumbled upon these two old post/reply sets. My, how the times have changed!
  12. I'd be interested in seeing your take on any of: V-Wing, B-Wing, or V-19, with articulation. Moreso the B or V-19, though. Of course, I'd not be disappointed to see a Venator, either. Or one of the less featured podracers. Dud's, Ebe's, or Neva's all have some interesting designs or shapes to them. I can't help it, I have a thing for the pods. Sadly, after going through my collection, I don't have anywhere near enough wedge plates to complete even a multicolored ISD. I might still give the interior/structure a go, though.
  13. Not a chance! In fact, I shall assemble a team of like-minded (read: min-maxing) champions and dare any QM to tackle the task of balancing both challenge AND reward! Heavens save the poor soul. E: Besides, if I gave any specifics, some folks might be apt to reconsider their policies if public opinion reflects my own! Can't be having that, no sir.
  14. Speaking as a player who puts min-maxing before character development (Whaddya mean "strives to be the strongest hero alive" isn't a proper background?!), there are several QM's whose quests I'd *love* to go on (or at least, to have gone on, depending on changes after the fact). Not to say that I haven't enjoyed every quest that I've been on, because I have, thoroughly, but the xp/inventory rewards from other quests have been *really* appealing. I have a horrible tendency to lose myself to nostalgia and I always find myself loathing the "entitled, handheld new generation" in any game. Games evolve, and if you've been playing for longer than someone new, chances are that, for any given task/goal, if you used Method A, then by the time that Player 2 attempts it, Method B will have been implemented by the powers-that-be, and Method B is way easier/stronger than Method A. Similarly, while a WP:12 sword and Darkness-immune artifact used to be unique and strong items, they are now both commonplace and (relatively) easily attainable. Unique effects are now a dime a dozen. That said, and to bring it back to the original point, there are several QM's who, from what I've seen, are very generous in their rewards of either Experience gains, gold, powerful items, or some combination of the aforementioned. And while I might have very little interest in the story arcs, as a whole, that they are sharing with us, the rewards themselves, or even the anticipation of those rewards, are enough to make me want to brush up on my "story arc backstory" so that I can harvest rewards while still participating in/interacting with the QM's quest enough to not be a total let down of a player from an RP perspective.
  15. Thormanil climbs to his feet and goes to shake the warden's hand. "Oof, would ya look at that? I barely even nicked yer shield! Gonna be a pleasure hidin' behind ya on the fields, hah!"
  16. Oh, right, that. I'd forgotten about the points and rewards as it was. Well, now you know my battle strategy at least, heh.
  17. ^Fine by me. If you'd like, even, you can play my rounds conditionally, since I'll only be chipping away at Docken at best and it'll likely take a long time if he doesn't finish me soon. Tailblade if he's stunned at the start of the round, Frozen Sabre if he isn't. Don't bother switching between actions mid-round. "Augh, where'd you get off to?" Thormy flails about, swinging his sword at thin air
  18. I think that one lucky mage or cleric (original class) should find a Snowball Wand (WP: 6) in their stocking! This magical, winter-y wand would be upgradeable, deal Ice-elemental damage, and have upon a successful damage roll, should have a further 3-in-6 chance (on a second roll of 1, 2 or 3) to launch a snowball that causes an additional [WP] of damage. If a snowball is successfully thrown, there should be a 2-in-6 chance (a third roll, 1 or 2) that instead of a snowball, the wielder decides to be naughty and throws an iceball, dealing 2xWP instead of the WP of a regular snowball. Further, if an iceball is thrown, there would be a 1-in-6 chance that the target takes 3xWP instead of 2xWP in damage and suffers the stunned effect from the impact of iceball-to-the-face! Merry Grogmas to whichever poor QM's have to deal with those rolls!
  19. If I understand it right, he's stunned from the Hit, so if I got a 5 or 6 roll this turn, then nothing would happen there and he would get his roll as normal as the stun was consumed, whereas if I roll anything else, then he misses his roll due to the stun.
  20. Haha fine, fine, you've got me. I've got to admit, QM creativity has led to a slew of new and interesting effects already, and I'm sure will continue to do so in the future. I guess as long as there's something new to strive to overcome, being immune to everything else isn't that bad
  21. Oh, no, I'm quite aware of it. I dread the day I have to take that many factors into account. You're right though, I do have a tabletop background that makes that sort of thing seem second nature and I suppose I do tend to take the idea of minimizing calculations for granted (and I definitely recognize the appeal of the pick-up-and-go style that you've given us with Heroica). I still feel as though, eventually, the "end-game" will be even simpler than what a new player will face: new players won't have the funds to gain full immunity, while established characters will have a multitude of resistances and have less to worry about from standard mechanics than the newer players.
  22. I see elemental immunity as more of an anti-special-damage protection and I think that it serves that job just fine. While we're on the topic of imbued immunities, I do think that flat immunity is incredibly strong. In my mind, elemental damage should be halved and negative effects should have a 50/50 chance of being inflicted (calculated in addition to any other reductions they might have, like a cleric's special guard might fail, but a cleric with resistance to a certain negative effect would get a second 50/50 roll after the SG roll). I know it wouldn't be a change embraced by many (looking especially at folks who have already invested in it, and those who are planning to), I can only imagine that, at some point down the line, it will become a QM'ing nightmare. Will QM's just have to come up with new effects, or will negative effects become a memory for all but the newest (or poorest) of heroes, with mechanics devolving to simple damage?
  23. His new saber bouncing off of Docken's shield, Thormanil switches to his Wyvern's Tailblade and attacks from the front row "Pride or power, you've gotta admit, that one shook ya!"
  24. It should be subtratacted from the target's SP (and added to the attacker's)! Didn't want to clutter Arena thread, but this is what I was wondering in the R&D thread, minus the damage dealt part. Feel free to leave that bit as-is, heh.
  25. Hey K-Nut, for that first round, did I end up rolling a damage/special damage which then got nullified by the stun?
