"Dare ya to fight me like a man up in the front row, hah!" Thormanil attacks Docken from the front row.
-
"And I, Thormanil Nihai (swils), accept Bartholomew Docken's (Brickdoctor) challenge!"
-
"A whole week, huh? No point in sittin' round! Let's go, Docken, see how good you really are with that shield of yours."
-
Flipz, shhhh! Before you get everything nerfed clarified!
-
Thormanil follows suit and signs his life away to Benji's adventure through the Fields. OOC: Good to go.

Looking forward to it! Devious QM'ing is the best QM'ing. I mean, it's not, but it's still pretty amusing Speaking of.. Counterstriking enemy with a passive special that pickpockets an amount equal to damage dealt... Evil. Pure evil.
-
Hush, you. @Endgame, surely you can come up with a greedier Progg, perhaps one that can steal gold back from the heroes on rolls of special damage?
-
Maybe, when he and Thormy are finally at the Hall together again in the future, Lycan will feel benevolent enough to leave a hefty "thank you" gift of coin on top of the 95 he's in line to pay back to Thormy

I might actually do some rough builds for this just to see how I like it... Coming soon* to a quest board near you! *Definition and/or usage of "soon" subject to change, dependent upon swils' ability to actually design a solid quest start-to-finish and not get sidetracked, not try to include too many gamechangers, not throw his hands up in desperation, nor any other situation in which he gives up on the quest design. Also subject to Sandman approval once/if he manages to actually plan it all out. In fact, "soon" is probably one of the worst word choices he could have made. You should all point and laugh.

"Hittin' hard, now yer speaking my language! Rituals and magic are plenty of fun, but I've been itchin' to give this whole raiding thing a go. And this sword's sure to knock the senses outta anything that tries to take me, hah!"
-
"Ana-whatnows? Sounds awful!"

Brandishing his new toy, Thormanil joins Docken and Benji at their table. "Gut feelin' eh? It's a good thing you've got all that armor, Docken. Can't risk damaging a valuable set of precognitive innards! Heh heh. Now, what's this about a trip to the fields? I'd been planning to go with Arthur but this whole Wren nonsense has got him talkin' crazy. I don't see what the big deal with this gal is but hey, each to their own! Me, I'd love a chance to crack a few more heads. Whaddya say, Benji, take me along with ya?"

Much easier said than done, of course. Hedge mazes just aren't in this year. They're so 2011.

The Lion faction certainly has a cartoony feel, especially the heads. For the most part, though, I don't see the rest of the factions as being too cartoony. The avian helmets in particular strike me as awesome props/equipment for Heroica. Then there's all the new torso & leg prints.. Granted, they've all got toes/claws printed on the feet, but I think that's a detail that can be overlooked, if the framing of a picture even requires the fig to be shot that low. Then there's the Lone Ranger with a few interesting molds and prints. Galaxy Squad I hadn't heard much about until I started looking at it just now, but... /drool, those insectoid molds! Heroica, and even moreso the desire to eventually establish myself as a QM within Heroica, has had a significant impact on my purchasing patterns. I came out of my dark age with some Star Wars sets, as well as an interest in amassing an army/continuing my Star Wars minifig collection. Over the last year or so, I've shifted away from Star Wars sets to Medieval/Fantasy themed sets, picking up sets I'd never dreamed I'd be interested in. The Monster Fighters theme had plenty of new figs for me to toy with, even though the sets themselves wouldn't have otherwise caught my eye. Heck, even the collectible series had me hooked. Even though I could have easily bricklinked any of the figs I wanted, it was so much more enjoyable to stand in the aisle, rooting through the boxes and feeling up the packets until I thought I'd collected the figs I'd wanted. And then getting home and opening them and having felt up most of the bags correctly.. Felt like a kid again! And to tie it back into Heroica, it's true, Doc, there are so many themes that I now have an interest thanks to Heroica, that I would have otherwise overlooked. Even looking back through my own collection, I rarely used my old Tribal and Western figs, but now I find myself trying to think up ways to incorporate the more interesting figs and parts into Heroica scenes, whenever I get around to hosting! I've also got to find a way/an excuse to squeeze my 20ish Minotaurs into a single shot... E: Wow, wrote way more than I'd thought. @Endgame, This one? Easy! Get two of those heads and maybe the Lizardman CMF body and make them the stoic guardians at the end of a giant hedge maze!

Just looked up LoC... I'm going to need to scrounge funds now because there are far too many awesome figs and accessories in that line.

Well, I know Jeb had a new little bundle-of-quest-delays-joy during his last quest, so I'd not be surprised if he had his focus elsewhere of late. The others, I can't recall exactly. Kadabra was going to retire Arasmyth after that last quest, so he might be taking a break before doing that. And since Kadabra and Bionic are brothers(?) or something, maybe they're breaking together?

Not at all, in fact, much appreciated. Just got back to MD a few days ago and only got our FiOS box battery replaced yesterday. Had internet for all of a few hours before the storm last night took out a line somewhere and we lost it again, heh. Posting from mobile til then.

Thormanil takes a break from staring into space long enough to see a party returning to the Hall and rushing right back to the quest board. He recognized them as those who had set out for the Temple of Ennoc some time ago. There was no sight of Haldor yet, though. Thormanil hoped the Nord wouldn't slip by unnoticed, as he had a few items the shaman might be interested in. In case Haldor decided to rejoin his crew before taking off again, Thorm decided to wait with them. He sidled up next to the orc. "Well hey there, greenie. Friend of Haldor's, right?"
-
Well, it seems that Thormy's a bit too philanthropic for his own good. Once quests 48 & 49 are done, everyone that Thormy needs to settle with should be in, or have at least passed through, the Hall. If it comes down to crunch time and I've got to pass on the next Fields run, then I'll at least pass along the scroll in advance, good faith and all that, heh. Mostly depends on the endings of quests and how soon after this Fields party leaves that Sandy wants to get another group going.
-
You should take your friendly neighborhood Thormy along, too, so that I've got something to keep my attention over break! Heh
-
Take me wiiiiith youuuuuuu!

Preferably ones that offer reasonably strong shields and/or polearms along the way

[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2012 Star Wars Advent Calendar
swils replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Doc, I don't know how you do it, but I love it. I kinda-sorta went very broke last year before I could actually buy the pieces to construct *any* of the models, which really disappointed me, heh. I was so very distraught that as soon as I had some spending money again, I went and overcompensated by buying a UCS Shuttle instead Maybe I'll piece together an ISD when I finally go home later this month using whatever colors of bricks I've got. Looking forward to the rest of the month! -
Ah, so he DID turn 21, and I was right for the wrong reasons. Woo, go me.
-
I eagerly await the next pro-Shadeaux quest, and hope that I have time for it when it rolls around. "Days" ago? I take it that it's not that he turned 21, as that'd be more like "weeks", heh. Avatar looks the same... Ninjago dates?
