Thormanil offers Arx a Mead, but the dragon recoils at the smell of it. Chuckling, Thormanil drinks the Mead instead. "Oh, right, that gal. She did just kind of disappear, didn't she?"- 506 replies

Chiming in, I really liked playing as a Shaman. Reminded me heavily of the EQ Shadow Knight. You really do bring a lot to the table, as Mryddyn covered above. If I hadn't felt strapped for coins, I probably would have stayed as a Shaman until I got access to Dragoon, rather than switching to Raider.

I'm in #118 for the foreseeable future (unless Flipz says otherwise, heh), but if you're still around, or go, but feel like making a second trip through the Fields, yeah, I was planning on trying to get a run together.

Heroica RPG - Quest #118: The Tale of the Stolen Spirits
swils replied to Flipz's topic in The Heroica Archive
Even as Thormanil rushed to restore Arx, the rest of the party managed to be a step ahead. "Don't worry buddy, you're in good hands!" Hesitating before leaving Arx to be revived by someone else, he eventually turns back to the skirmishers and his slow duel with them. Once revived, Arx attacks the Alchemists.- 506 replies

Confusion? High SP? High level and/or high damage AoEs because dragons don't have any way to add armor (yet? *hopeful* heh) and are still squishy? The list goes on

<"Thank you, Em.. no, err, Ella.."> He shakes his head as he tries to get her name right. Meanwhile, Thormanil continues to try to make the Skirmishers bleed, attacking with the trident from the front row. If Ellaria's Nurture goes through, then Arx joins in against the Alchemists.- 506 replies

I was going to say that it was my (our?) last smelling salt, and we might need it for Act 3, but there are some as possible drops. "A little busy at the moment," he says, as he finishes his attack. Meanwhile, Arx joins in, attacking the Rangers.- 506 replies

It's the way damage is calculated. Double edged sword, helps us on defense, hurts us on offense. Having that 40 SP being factored in at the very end, instead of, say, off of the 225, really hurts the output.

Seeing the Skirmishers' tough armor, he brandished his newest toy, the Guardian Halberd. As he faced them down from the front row, Arx followed Hybros' plan and stood on his own against what appeared to be golem children, from the front row.- 506 replies

As far as turn order, I'm a fan of the ABBAB setup. Having been dealt an Eth1 card, I can safely say that it felt pretty useless. I know I could have bought a more expensive deck, but chose not to, and that definitely affected my success. Did anyone who bought the lower decks actually advance? It was especially crippling because a lot of those first round NPCs were themed, throwing out only a single card type. All of a sudden, the idea of buying a mix of types, but at low level, became pretty useless. If I were to redo the structure, I'd definitely keep it to only players, and I'd have two windows to buy packs. One before the brackets are posted, and another before the tournament starts. So you can buy up to two packs, but if you missed the first window, you can only buy in the second. I might have bought a lower pack in the first window, but then my opponent bought a higher pack. In the second window, I can buy another pack with higher cards to try and level the playing field (if I can afford it), and they could, perhaps, buy a pack of specific type to counter what I have that they might be weak to. I know that it would double the number of cards you'd have to sort out, but I think it'd be a good system of checks and balances in the first round so that you aren't basically automatically out just because you picked up a lower pack. I enjoyed it nonetheless, and wouldn't mind seeing it come back. I'd like to see Decamon start popping up more and more in quests, too, heh. Fun little distraction.

I'm partial to Malwarebytes, but there's no love lost towards Avast. Hope you can resolve your computer issues soon, especially with the new semester just starting off. I picked up a nasty ransomware around midterms last Fall and ended up having to reformat. Best of luck with the deworming!
