  1. For a hefty $ 20 each I wouldn't go and buy a lot of them just for the battledroids ... I bought one for the Trooper and the newer parts, and will leave it there.
  2. My thanks, good Sir !!!
  3. just nabbing this topic to find it in future reverence !!
  4. Stormtroopers ?? Don't get me started on those guys !!! I've got a couple, and I think no more than 20 .. all from BP's past . Thinking of ditching them and getting some more Clones.. I Clones.
  5. And that is in essence, the problem, the Clones are too expensive... an avarege of $ 4,50 per Clone is way too much, concidering that a Droid has an averege of $ 1,50 . I have about 100 White Clone troopers and about 50 Kassyyyk troopers now, and I don't like the round helmet guys that much ! ( Phase 2 or 3 helmets , whatever ), Clone pilots are way out of the ballpark ( the average LAAT-I uses 2 ) Clone gunners Mwa... those are "accepteble" ... Don't get me started about the Bombsquad or Dumbsquad as I rever too them. I know I'm lucky in the sence that I bought a lot of BP's for a reasenable price ( to Dutch Standard ) and a very happy camper that the Atembo is in my hometown , that saves me up to € 4 per box of kassyyyk BP's , so the 4th one is free . And offcourse, a clone army without material is nothing ! I started building my own army vehickles and airplanes, much to my own delight, I proudly own 8 LAAT-I 's and started building a massive CTT again . ( those will be in their own topic's when finished ) grtz Saint
  6. If you only store it = good ! close up the boxes, wrap it up , make sure you don't have any direct sunlight on the storage, and you're good to go ! If you build = bad idea if you don't isolate , put up more lights , make it dust free and paint the basement, NEVER use a heat cannon or such , better to take some extreme mesures to secure the Plastic-Fantastic before even concidering that. grtz Saint
  7. I've seen the same ... The republic is more in the "frontline" , so to speak . I really don't care about that, because I'm building a Republic Army myself ( and it's a small humble force ) . Droids are a smaller section on a battlefield, since I only have about 50 or so droids. For a good Droid army they should number into the 1000's or a 10 to 1 ratio ( for 1 clone is 10 droids. ) The problem lies in the Superbattledroid. I think that for 1 superbattledroid , LEGO should put 2 or 3 normal droids into the sets, so you ( eventualy ) build up a nice droid army . The best droid-army-builders-pack was the droid transport from a few years back, sadly with a high price tag, it was almost impossible for me to collect more, so I have 1 . Bricklinking a Droid army is a good alternative, since droids are not all that expensive. Hopes this helps a bit, grtz Saint
  8. Hi fellowship of the brick ! A while ago I ame arcross a topic that was about cleaning your LEGO, and not any topic, I was impressed by the pictures I saw. Sadly, I can't find the topic anymore, can't remember the name of the stuff , and can't seem to remember my name !! The topic had some pictures of a PC-keypad being cleaned, and the cleaning agent was reactive to UV - light. Can somebody help me with this sketchy info ( at best ) and give me a URL to the topic or just the name of the cleaning agent ?? I thank you in advance !! Grtz Saint
  9. Wow! This mecha is great !! Does it fit a minifig ? grtz Saint
  10. In addition to my first post : Spend more !! on bricklink and not in the store !! This seems strange, but I guess that it will be cheaper to order in per part rather buying a lot of sets I don't do much with.
  11. I, for one, don't know... wish I knew
  12. Finish my 2 main Projects, Getting organised ( how familiar does that sound ) Build a bigger diorama for project 2 , Build a platform for project 1. Getting more organised....( that is the plan for over 2 years now. ) I've got a cupboard with 400 drawers just sitting here waiting to be filled wih LEGO.... should just start... but everytime I get to it, I just start building..... Pfffffff Don't really know beyond this .. Merry Xmass and a happy newyear !!
  13. Jee...... great... and again a store in a country that I'll never visit How about the Netherlands TLC ??? Great news for the French though ! Just one and a half year to go !! grtz Saint
  14. I create my own special characters ! Love the BP's , but more special troops I make myself, I like Clone Troopers, and have a few specialists in my army . grtz Saint
  15. Well, here the rest of the purchases.... sadly I missed 1 for a complete overview. Again , thanks to Junkstylegio for taking all the effort !! You're great !!
  16. Here a link to the sets I bought last week ! My thanks go out to Junkstylegio for taking the effort and trubble of making the pictures way better than I ever could do ! Grtz Saint P.S : I think the new blasters are a big improvement over the old blasters, as they were over the megafone's ..... Get over it you old AFOL !! It's for kids , not for us !! Owh, If by any chance you don't like them, there only in three ( 3 ) sets, so in this line there 12 to buy/ find .... so that is not so bad !!
  17. Sadly for you , nothing.. I don't have a camera at hand, and do not have the skills to make a very good review, I'll ask a friend of mine, perhaps he can be pesuaded to make a review with pictures.
  18. If that makes your day Junkstyle, try making a LDD for my LAAT or CTT
  19. Well, the romours are no more... the sets are hitting the store's !!!! I went to a local store here in Breda and they had ( had, because I bought them all ) the 75034, 75035, 75037 , 75038, 75039 and the75042. Sadly they did't have the rest, so that has to wait. My first thought on the 75035 was that the Kashyyyk scout's vizor are to high, but what great fig's !!!! The 75034 is méh , the cannon , again with flick-fire missles , sucks and the royal guard lets dow royaly.... the cape is great, the arms are dark red !! whaaaaa no way !! they should be normal red guys !! The gunner is great and makes the set for me !! They've got HELMETS !!!! I thought they had a stick on head/helmet, but to my suprise , heads and helmets, and to make things even better, they both have a different face !! The new blasters are 2 parts, and promise a lot of potential in modding of sorts, I think I'm going for a RPG with them ! Grtz Saint
  20. And it is GREAT !! model , I saw it IRL, and this is top-notch !! grtz Saint
  21. Well, you always can call them for a particular part if you really need something. They can answer that question better than me , I cannot affort to go there everyday ! To be honest, online buying can really be expensive if you don't have a max to your spending, and you have to take in account that S@H can be very expensive from country's ( Like the USA, that is VERY expensive, sorry guys ). But Dutch - based sellers are easy to communicate and can do a little bit more for you. I'm curious where you live, perhaps a better store is near you , and you didn't realise that . But first , Oberhausen !! That was my first LEGO-store and that is a good one ! If you can, try to visit the discovery centre ( through the foodcourt, outside, cross the bridge, cant miss it ) they let you into the store, but not the centre itself if you don't have kids , still a nice store . And last : Essen has a store aswell... I heard that the store has a good selection in the P-A-B, and also update their wall on rebrick.com on a regular basis. Grtz Saint
  22. Atembo does sell loose parts, although the parts are a bit expensive.... you're better off buying them through Bricklink .
  23. Is it worth your while ??..... well... that depends... The P-A-B wall in Belgium is good, not great, and I think it helps that you can call them up front of they have parts that you really want. , VIP Points on all your purchaces ... but the drive there is something to concider ( that is with all stores here in the Netherlands , sadly ). I understand from some people that it is possible to order some parts in whole-sale ( per box , amount to be determent, I really don't know ). I do it like this : save up some money, buy loose LEGO at the store , and go to Atembo for the sets I really want... for the most part. The store is great ( also because they speak Dutch ) !! and If you really want to visit a store , I think the Belguim one is the place to go. grtz Saint
  24. It's called Atembo, B Rick
  25. Hi Lukewarmtea, Stop being chicken and start being the best AFOL you can be ! I like the fact that you build together with your daughter, you both can enjoy a hobby that is ( sadly ) mostly a mansworld. I would say to your husband / folks that they should try it themselfs, I find building with LEGO calming ( like a little zen-moment ) . You shouldn't let everybody get in the way of something you and a hobby, ,you make it fun for your kid to get some kind of reward and making things really positive for her ( and yourself ) in the end. Have fun !! that is the only advice I want to give to you and your family ( and if that doesn't work , write Dr. Phil just kidding ) grtz Saint
