Personaly I don't think this tread should be here, but in a more general corner. I don't have any technic sets on hold, because I don't build with it. I do have a spare DeLorean and the LEGO store set on hold. Don't know what I'll do with the latter. I build, destroy and use the parts elsewhere 'caus it's fun to build !! Grtz Saint

Any ideas to build an army of clones/battle droids cheap?
Saint replied to speederCommander's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agree with ShadowWolfHount. It will take 4- ever to collect a serious army of one side. I collect Clones, and over the years ( sadly ) I collected about 100 of them, through various site's, trading, and through rummage/yard sales .... and for now the white clones will be out of the picture for a while I guess.. the kassyyyk trooper will be the next best thing, because the normal clone will not return for a bit. So I bought a lot of 75000, with the intend to sell the droiteka's and buy some clones back. ( I know that if I have 40 of them, I will never get 40 clones back ). If you want to aquire your clones in a different way : Buy normal white figs, buy custom helmets, get a decal sheet from a third party and get going, those clones are a bit different, but more detailled that the one's from LEGO. This is not for everybody, for me certainly not. I like them, I like the aftermarket, but I concentrate on building MOC's , not building an army. So take my advice : try try and try again. If you really want something, go for it ! grtz Saint -

My idea is that you use plates as longer slopes , fill the corners up with some bricks of sorts... I was thinking of something like that in y own layout. Brickbuild slopes arn't that great and give me the idea of a pyramid. Just get some 1x2 with hole, and some pins to fasten it, and of you go. Good Luck !

As you should ! 89 people worked there vingers to the bone , and a lot more did their part to make this a very , very sucsesfull event ! Giving the impression that only 5or 6 people did suit the whole show is not very forcoming. I saw the whole spectrum of every part in the LEGO-hobby. Did you ??? grtz Saint

Wasn't there more too see ???

In reaction to the scout trooper : I think this is a misprint, as the bridge of the nose is exactly the same size of the eye-sight. ... Well I hope so .. If I look at it now, I don't want any grtz Saint

The akward silence ...... like they need time to think about it. In my workspace ( gasstation ) I get a lot of regular customers, most of them are used to see me tinkering with a set or a MOC.. my piggybank is a LEGO-Brick and gets a lot of attention, and when asked I rever too it as my "building-fund" , that puts a little smile on most of the customers and sometimes some small change in my Brick.

I had the privalige to get my hands on some display's. With and without contens, I was very, very happy too get them . ( A store closed it's doors and I bought them , and through my LUG ) I agree with Lego Otaku, A dishonest manager or another vague way to get your hands on a display is 90 % the way too get your hands on them . The smaller displays find their way though rummage sales and flea markets here in Holland, only in very small amounts, and then very very expensive. Grtz Saint

Looks like fun , if you live in the UK . I would buy a share if I had a direct profit of 30 % discount, keeping the share as a one-off , and visiting the parks every year, including other parks , this seems to be a great offer ! But it seems that a minimum of a 1000 pounds is in order here, and you get 1 pass for 12 months, ( I'm reading the PDF ) . So in conclusion , a 1000 pounds in LEGO or a share just to buy with a 30 % off ?? ( I don't know about any more discounts IN the park if you have the pass ) I wuld stick with the 1000 pounds and buy myself crazy in a other way. ( that goes a very long way on BL ) Grtz Saint

I was reverring to the bubble canopy's First off all, there no bubbles on the wings : there remote controled, second, the bubbles with the gunners in them are way to big. My favorite of the LAAT series is the 7676, A little to big for my taste , and a little to fat, with some modding it's fine. The latest LAAT 75021 is a bit smaller and more to scale, but it feels a bit flimsy I used the 7676 as a base for some really heavy modding, And I'm still working on them . I ( sort off ) brickbuild the side turrets ( where the gunners sit ) and they allmost fit inside a bubble . Don't get me wrong, as a playset the bubbles are great ! As a model they're butt-ugly . I build like the latter too.. Part Heavy, currently working on a new project ( I like to call it "project CTT" ) . The wheels alone are over the 10.000 count , rinse and repeat, copy paste, there the same. I want to build as sturdy as possible, don't do much in the "illegal connections" department , however, I like experimenting with my LEGO. whatever parts the user sees fit, whether each element is only used once or a large proportion of the elements are all the same brick (e.g. 500 pieces of foilage). The same goes for colour - either a huge swath of colours or almost all bricks are the same. check very dense construction. check lots of greebles. check no visible studs if at all possible. check illegal connections, minifigure hands separate from bodies, bricks just laid in place or with fiddly construction methods. not yet I think everybody does at one time use a kind of illegal connection of sorts, and really , if I had the chance to fiddle about with 10.000 hands in tan ( for example ) I would try my hands ( ) on some roof of sorts. I use really everything what I can get my hands on, only better if I've got about a gazillion of the same sort, usealy I only start out with a fe of one sort, search through my bins like crazy, just to find a few more, and see the opportunity to use a lot more because I think the part is very cool to use. Another small example : A few years back I had the chance to pick up a 40 or so bricks 6x5 with the snake on them from the HP-series, Never found a use for them untill recently, I flipped them around and use the grey side for my project, and in responce to that, I found out that I wanted a LOT more if possible.. So I try to bulk up my parts. I like to create models that can be build with a good collection of bricks, not sets. Hope my story is a bit clear for you, I'm a bit fuzzy in the head right now ( bit sick ) grtz Saint

You mean that Butt-ugly thing ?? I've build one myself with some exoforce robothands and stuff... Don't have any pictures yet, but there a few good reverence's on the net. Grtz Saint -
And no honors for little old me ?? Nah, just kidding.. This looks a lot better, I still think you should lower the cockpit section by 1 or 2 plates to blend it in more. Grtz Saint

Lemme think .... hmmmm still thinkin... do some tinkering ... hmm I'm thinking some kind of hinge connection.. you should have some from the set. If you stick the minimum of 2 on each side on the connection you can build it ( in pricipal ) with a "bend " A larger collection helps with MOC / Modding , but if you don't have a lot, you should take a look in what you've got. ( easy for me doesn't say easy for you ) Even a simple hinge connection with clips can help, you just stick the plate in, and by angle it will fit ( just try very gentle ) , don't try to put it in straight. I hope this helps a bit grtz Saint

Well, I for 1 like it, a bit rough the edge's , but I like it ! Being a bit of a Moc/Modder myself, I took a look at this iconic aircraft myself. And that came out completly different. So, I reccon, there's a lot of different LAAT's around , not just one.I like the smaller version, the look you didn't change , it feels like a LAAT Special , just for that fast hitting the target , what I don't "like" ( I feel there is room for improvement ) is the door section... the curve is gone.. so the model is a bit whacked out of sinc. The bubble canopy is to high on the model, just lower that by one or two plate's and I think your set. Don't do the lime green stuff, replace that with something else, red, normal green, or any colour, just to set it apart from the rest. That is my take on your model, just fool around a bit more , and never be satisfied with something, keeping a critical eye on your own models can help you to improve yourself !!! grtz Saint

From what I know, the whole Brickshelf was run by one ( 1 ) person , I don't know how it's run now. I think that the whole Brickshelf on/off stuff is caused by the servers it's run on... my info is sketchy at best. I think that's the reason why a lot of people are using the Flickr pages . Grtz Saint
