  1. Hi rm8 can you please check both manuals or sealed bags (if you still have them, or on pictures) if the chassis on both cars is the same? I mean are the content and the building steps fot bags "1" are the same? Dino
  2. Hi i, like many others i do not like the hood. Not because the stairs-design but because the lights that can be seen from above. On the real car AND the Cuusoo MOC those have been hidden/covered. Marty looks niceand smart, but the Doc looks to happy. There should be only two faces: Grumpy and mad :) Dino
  3. Hi yes indeed, and i think august 1st is the only day when you can get this set for the MRSP. Dino
  4. Hi great! I can wait until 31st July - guess why! :) Dino
  5. Hi this is a question to those that already have the Boss plus know or have the 9398. I have not finished yet the vhassis of my 9398, so said just opened the bags with the 1 on it. Are those bags, and their content, are the same in both versions, Boss and 9398? If yes, then i could sell my 9398 as opened box, but sealed bags. I just could take the "1" bags from the Boss. I would use then the unfinished chassis from the 9398 as base for the Boss. Will that work? Dino
  6. Hi i can do this :) http://www.brickbuildr.com/view/pab/ Which Store you would like to visit? Dino
  7. Hi finally, here i am. I would like to join the RA to "give something back that i already taken". The Star Wars review collection is nice to look at and especially nice to read. I want to be part of it. And again" this is all Brickdoctors fault" ;) Dino
  8. Hi I thoughts this: "read, Roman Balista, nah, i do not want to click on that topic...." "Oh wait! It is posted by Sariel!!! Must read! click!" Thanks for sharing this. Did you check when parts are breaking or bent over? I think the predetermined breaking point here are the grey axles and the axle hole on the liftarm, right? Dino
  9. Hi i am aware that i am a bit off topic but it is all Brickdoctors fault (pointing with my finger on him) ;) I do not like video reviews as you do too. As photographer i would like some explain this: With a little effort, some equipment (white background, two or more difuse lights) a camera, a tripod and software (no, it does NOT have to be photoshop), nearly everyone can do images that are close to those from professionals. Very close! I read this here quite often that people do "better images than Lego did" and i can support this statement. But video is something completela different, there are at least three new dimensions that photography do not have: Time, audio and "direction". We are very familiar with professional video, can be seen on TV in movie theaters and as stream in any PC. We are not even think about the complexity that those videos have, because we see that so often. If you try a video by your own, you have to make sure that all lightning, everything that counts for a single image in photography counts in video making 25times per second, very second, every minute, evertime! Normal people do not have a setup that illuminates a whole video as we are familiar with TV stuff. Audio: No, people do nat have propper audio equipment and knowledgetoo, to handle audiostreams as seen "on TV". So even we are able to do a good still image, we do not know by average to make propper audio. That is why most home videos "look" like non pro because they sound like non pro. Directing: Did you ever ask yourself what a director does? If no, never try a video by your own ;) Please! :) Everything we see "on Tv" is highl directed and scripted without our awareness because it happens so often. Only when directing fails (repetition, long statements without cuts, all you mentioned above) we identify home videos easily as they are. There are much more points to discuss, but this should everyone show easily how difficult it is do to propper professional like video. Because we are sooo familiar with. Images are much easier to do as close as prossible to professional results. That is why i love most of EB reviews, well writtern (RUFUS!) and nice photography. @Brickdoctor: I will not keep sticking on photo vs videos review here anymore. I you like, put out everything regarding that into a new topic. Or just leave it here, i will not do post againg regarding this Dino
  10. Hi City and modulars will give you a normal background for stories. If you like horror stuff or monster and werewolf movies i recommend the Monster theme. The sets are often discounted, the hounted house is GREAT for movies and has interior. Your can easily add the other smaller sets to expand your characters. If you open the HH xou can have all your scenes there, then close it and you have outdoor scenes. Domething you can not do easily with modulars. If younonly have ONE house it does not matter IF it is the HH. All your stories can be at night :) already afraid? Or convinced about the HH? ;) I would say with 200-300€ you will get the Hounted house plus 2-3-4 good smaller sets as adds. The HH is an exclusive. If you get it via USA, then you could EASILY sell it agai in greece while it is not available there. Manybe even with a small plus. Dino
  11. Hi many thanks again to GRogall, again! I know so many stuff that early, i hope we do not find him in a couple of weeks hanging around at the Moskows airport terminals... ;) Dino
  12. Hi i undrstand why you all like the ppp value, but just have a look at the Robie House. I have read often that this is a parts pack and has a great value. It has a great value because it is a great source for dark red, but most of the many parts are very tiny. In the past creator sets and city houses had a better bricks/plates ratio than today. Today my son can hardly build a MOC (with similar size) out of actual creator sets. There arejust few 1x4,6,8,10 bricks, but many small plates for detail. I am aware that AFOLs like plates and detail, but again, it is hard to buid just simple things because there are so many detail releated small parts. As contrast i would call the Sydney Opera (the creator expert) a parts pack while it has many plates AND bricks. Not mentioning the many slope bricks. Dino
  13. Hi this means studs. BUT! It is a toy, you should enjoy Lego, so build as you like! And, please share with us ;) Dino
  14. Hi i am wondering why sets always been compared to each other or their value is measured in price per piece. I know this is a value can be seen on most of Legos sets. Sets with many pieces and a good price per piece ratio (ppp) have mostly VERY small pieces. Examples? The new Technic crane, ~ 1000 pins, Robie House, ~700 1x2 plates, and Winter Village sets in general. Just compare the volume/weight of pieces you will get with the new Sydney Opera houes. Many large pieces. Do not get me wrong, i like and need the small ones, but large pieces are harder and more cost intensive to produce. They take much more space in the molding machine plus they ned more ABS. Its not the number of pieces that makes it valuable. I do not have significant data but my feeling says there are many 100bucks/€$£/republican credits sets that have a similar weight althought they do not have a similar parts count. The ppp value only makes sense if that is Legos way to value a set. It does not matter if there are 500 more parts in it if they are only Technic pins or 1x1 round plates. What do you think? Dino
  15. Hi really? You have to proove with a 5foot MOC (or larger). Your ISD is just 58.5"! ;) Dino
  16. Hi the site i use for german stores is this: http://www.brickbuildr.com/view/pab/ I have been in Munich, Cologne and Berlin. They had more or less the same. Dino
  17. Hi its that simple "Dust off". People call this canned air, but it is not. It is a gas without any oil. Typically compressed air/gas have a tiny percentage of oil, comming from the compressor. Those can not be used on lenses/objectives. "Dust off" is a brandname and i used this to preclean all of my lenses. It is good for Lego too! It is a recommendation for any photographer. Dino
  18. Hi here in Germany used Technic is underrated. For complete sets with box and manuals youl will get about the half of the lowest inet price. If you really need the money, sell it. If not, then keep it. I hope for you and your wife that you will have children in 1-2-3-4 years, so you will need Lego Technic again ;) My sin build with my help at age 3,5 the excavator you have. I showed him where to place each part. We learned counting this way and to follow rules (the manual!). Dino
  19. Hi get the Duel on Geonosis. It is a iconic scene where Yodas powers are reveald. Regarding thos set, it is the only source of a NON TCW Yoda and NON TCW Dooku. I like both characters but really dislike their TCW look. In this set both are amazing. Dino
  20. Hi Vienna is the far east end of central Europe ;) And if you just spilt into east/west, it is of cause western Europe. I will be next week in Vienna for business purposes. Sadly i will miss the opening that close. Dino
  21. Hi this was the answer how many copies out for normal sets. The question was comming up because if a normal set, lets say the Unimog, is produced right now only 40.000 times, 20.000 is then notbthat exclusive as we think. But nobody knows how many copies are out for normal sets, except those persons who are not alowed to tell us ;) I guess normal sets are sold 100k to 1m, so 20k is very rare. Dino
  22. Hi the Lego Rep told me the Robie House is discontinued. The follower is the Sydney Opera. Dino
  23. Hi haha :) That was Grogals fault ;) I could not resists to answer in german. I am sorry too. Dino
  24. Hi ich wollte nur, dass jemand das Set schnell kauft, damit es mich nicht in Versuchung führt ;) .... deine einkaufsquellen möchte ich haben, günstiger als 139€ tztztztz ;) Dino
  25. Hi i fully agree with you. @ablake: Please do not choose a name that is 100% directly taken from a movie an can not be found in general. You will never know your kids way and/or his/her own favours. An example. Just imagine your parents have been in Star Trek, and your name now is Scotty (nice try for an englishman) Sarek (sounds polish) or SPOCK!.... Believe me, no one wants to be a Spock, Gandarf or Eowhyn... You better choose a name that fits to you and your wife. I myself have an italian name (but i am German). So both my kids have italian names too. But those names are used not only in Italy, e.g. Laura. Dino (yes, that IS my real name) and yes, i am born a way before Jurassic Park haha :)
