That was my very first Lego set. I didnt have the other set. Was it available at another time as a stand alone set and not the bundle? Edit Just confirmed with my dad. He remembers buying it and he did indeed buy it from a local store. Just the harbor sentry alone.

My take on the Redbeard/ Iron hook topic, is that they are the same person. Iron Hook sounds like a name a native islander might call someone with a hook for a hand. And I think the first wave of Islanders came out when Iron Hook was introduced. At least thats what my mind, as a kid, thought. To be honests I havent thought about the Redbeard/ Iron Hook thing since I was a kid. To me Iron Hook is Redbeard either having a hard time with the Islanders, or was in his battle and his clothes show it. An interesting read! Thanks!

An excellent Black Pearl MOC! I really like the different colors thrown in to give it that worn look. And how did you accomplish the angled side gallery windows? The sails look nice, and it’s nice to see the correct number of guns! Great work!

That image looks like it’s squeezed. Or compressed. I think that’s distorting the stern a bit. If you take that out it looks like a decent pearl. She looks like she’s what, 16 studs wide? Typo

We got black flintlocks with the highwayman minifig in the collector minifig a few years ago? So around 2016-17.

I don’t think there will be follow up ships to this one. And especially the Dutchman.

I’ve seen the leak but haven’t seen a new leak of the minifigs. I know a link cannot be put here, but could someone give me a hint on how to find it?

I think it looks good for a Lego set. If the hull splits at the waterline, it would be like the builder supersicks design from a few years ago. The cannon on the set also looks like some recent brick built cannon I’ve seen on here. Lego is watching…
