  1. Looks great. Like said above, the curve in the yards and the rigging really came out nice, as well as the lengthing of the hull. I would like to see some ornaments on there as well but it looks great as is!
  2. Here are some better quality photos. There is much, much more rigging to be done, as well as making her sails, so there is a lot to do before she is complete. Enjoy! Feedback is much appreciated. -Admiral Bejaune
  3. Ah its about time!! Its good to see her again... Im not sure bout the white in the ladder though. but it is good to see it built again.
  4. She looking great! Does he find that drunk in the hold? Flogg him! Cant wait to see the progress on that gundeck..Then the fun starts! Keep it up Rick! OH and save me some rown jumpers I need some!
  5. They are looking great! I love the arched windows on the white stern. Very nice touch! Does the other ship have an interior like the Achille?
  6. I like number 9 as well. Perhaps do the entire ship in dark red? Anyhow, it does look nice with both reds. Good luck with it!
  7. Here is a quick update, and a few blurry pics. Her rigging is coming along nicely and her hull is about 95% finished (A few detailing bits and she's 100%) High quality pics will be taken upon completion. -Admiral Bejaune
  8. Yea I dont think we would be dumb enough to let the Unicorn get in range. I know if I saw a large Ship of the line coming towards me I would bend every sail I got, good thing its a frigate and can outrun it! The Unicorn was looking good the last time I saw it. And to answer why America made there frigates so large was that they did not have enough money to make a fleet of ship of the lines. So they commissioned 6 frigates large enough to overtake any frigate and just large enough to spar with a ship of the line if needed. -Admiral Bejaune
  9. You would think, but perhaps they where retreating and where not getting away and where force to turn and fight, or that they did not have the weather gauge in order to retreat.
  10. They were much bigger than an average 44 gun frigate. There were smaller american frigates, but this one is based off of one of the original six that where built for the navy, they all had the same dimensions as a 74 gun ship but where a single deck frigate with spare and fore deck armament. You can read about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_six_...ted_States_Navy , Or I could copy the books I read it out of if that does not suit you. And the rule of engagement between British and American frigates was 2 british to 1 american, or more only if the american frigate was a super frigate not a privateer. Sorry for the confusion on that subject. -Admiral Bejaune
  11. Thanks, I had a feeling you would post something in regards to the Grand Union flag. But yes since the English created the American colonies there is a bit of an English connection there. However the frigates of the United States were not designed in the fashion of the English, but a whole new way to build frigates. They were stronger, larger, more heavily armed and faster. The British navy made a rule that a single frigate could never engage an American frigate due to the superiority of the American super frigates. -Admiral Bejaune
  12. Thanks again everyone for the comments. I have just completed her bow and will be taking pictures hopefully tomorrow in good light (Its been raining here, no sun). I also should be receiving my BL order any day now, and will post her decking soon. Her colors will be the Continental Navy Naval Jack flag: And the Grand Union Flag: -Admiral Bejaune
  13. Dark tan plates, about 6 or more of the following, 1x1, 1x2, 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, 2x12, 6x8, 6x12, 6x12. And a bunch of pearl gold pieces. My next order will be placed tomorrow night consisting of a ton of 2 x 2 round bricks and whatever else I see that can be used. -Admiral Bejuane
  14. A large fleet you have on your computer. I think one of them looks familiar, the white one at the end. I've seen it on another site. Hope you enjoy your stay here at eurobricks. Admiral Bejaune (aka T Green)
  15. Yes she is an American ship.... The flags will be custom and she will be colonial American when the ship is finished. I just put that there fore scale purpose. Cheers. Bejaune.
  16. Thanks everyone for the feedback. Im am still waiting on a BL order to arrive, and her bow is still in construction. And I will take better pics once the hull is 100 percent completed. Thanks! -Admiral Bejaune
  17. She looks promising. I would defiantly check out some of our master shipbuilders brickbuilt hulls, such as CGH, Teddy and Errorist for a good reference. Also I noticed that you have a good amount of headroom on the decks. Most ships did not have a ton of headroom and a person would have to bend down slightly to walk. But like I said it looks promising. -Admiral Bejaune
  18. Here is an update on the ship. Note that the dark blue flag on the stern next to the pearl gold one will be replaced with another pearl gold on. And the stern might change a bit upon completion. Im still designing the bow. A much need, very large bricklink order is due to arrive at my shipyard hopefully next week in order to finish her. Then comes the ever so tedious rigging step. Note, she is built on 7 center sections. More detailed and clear pictures will come with completion!
  19. Very nice! She does look like the Uss Essex. This ship is turning out to be a very well built ship. I came across your brickshelf the other night and was waiting on you to post your update to comment on it. I happened to noticed the figure head closeup.. It looks awesome. A screaming dragon! I suggest that you join the american navy! Keep it up! -Admiral Bejaune
  20. Well the other day a good friend of mine gave me his lot of his old pirate sets, Which included a BSB and a SES and a few other sets. However they are not assembled and never will be due to my mocing. Anyhow I did come across a few great rare to semi rare minifigs among the 25+ others, and I just had to share it with everyone. Here is an over view: Steve's (which puts my total up to 8 of them): Anchor pirates (puts my total up to 8 as well): The women (My Total red dress up to 9 and this is my first green dress): And the Spaniards ( I have two of each ): Well thats it, I had to share it with everyone, and the best part is that it was free! -Admiral Bejaune P.S. I owe you a steve Rick, this I know!
  21. She looks much better with the different rigging! Do you plan on adding ratlines? One thing I notice was the bottom yard arm, it needs to be removed if you want the rigging to be accurate. -Admiral Bejaune
  22. The ship is built on 7 mid sections.
  23. Another amazing creation! I don't see how you have the time to build so many amazing mocs. The cave is my favorite part in this creation. I always like the pirate cave scenes. The wild, unkept vegetation detailing is another trademark of yours as well as the use of 1 x 1 round pieces. Very nice work! -Admiral Bejaune
  24. Thanks! Glad to know that people enjoy them as much as I like building them! Sorry again for the dark photos. Ill take some better pics during the day to show all the detailing on the hull. Pearl gold rules! The stern is not completely finished, but I will try out your Idea of making the side galleries just a bit longer. And she will be presented as an American frigate with the name USS President. -Admiral Bejaune
  25. UPDATE ON PAGE 6 Hey everyone, its been a while since I posted a MOC. I've been busy with work. But here is something I have been working on lately. An American super frigate based off of the USS President. 54 guns. Built on 7 midsections. Should be competed by sometime next month. Update Keep in mind she's a WIP so changes will probably be made before she is completed. I will post more updates! P.S. Sorry about the dark photos, its dark here. I'll take some better pics when the sun is out that way the details of the hull can be seen. -Admiral Bejaune
