LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
SoupOrFishOil replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
I only saw the movie once, years ago, so forgive me for being forgetful. Well, yeah Otherwise we wouldn't have a huge green man running around or women who can conrtol plants. Of course the purple are more iconic/memorable than beige though, so I guess that it's kind of like with Two-Face who had orange/purple instead of a more recognizable black/white. Alright, good thing my birthday is in February, and I hope that the Summer DC Wave is smaller, or at least has less things I'm interested in. I guess I'll need to get my extra Catwoman too, before it's too late. I need an extra cat cowl to modify... -

Side by side comparisons of the old and new Batman Minifigures?
SoupOrFishOil replied to B-Lister's topic in LEGO Licensed
So far, I prefer all of the new minifigures, except for Two-Face. The new Two-Face is much more detailed than the old one, which is nice, but I miss the black/white and bulging eye. I have mixed feelings about Bane, I like the more angular new mask, but it doesn't seem as accurate as the old one (at least not the depictions I've seen), and I like how the old torso showed more muscle, a lot of these figures have huge belts. I prefer the muscles on the old Riddler too, this one is just as muscular as Batman and Superman, and as the Adam West Batman once said, "This is ridiculous, he's even smaller than you," (you being Robin) But other than a few nitpicks, many of these new figs are great, and I can't wait to see more characters. With some colors which have been more widely available since 2006, I'd love to see a new Scarecrow. -

I saw the character bios when it was updated days ago. The comic builder wasn't up then though, so I think I'll take a look at that... Edit: Anybody know what the codes do, mine from the Two-Face set won't work -

The equivlient to the Funhouse seems to be the Spider-man/Doc Ock one. -

Personally, I think Iron Man does look better, but I still would of liked some Hockey Armor. But they did fix the chin and eyes, so I was right in thinking that if they did that I would like it better. Hulk looks good, except for his pants I hope that's just a mistake. If they didn't want to do purple they could of at least made them blue. Captain America isn't bad, I don't have too much to say. Wolverine is the same as CA for me. I'm not really looking forward to Marvel as of now, just because I don't feel the draw to their characters as I really only like Batman, but I want Loki and Thor just because I like mythology (well, I'm not a big fan of Norse mythology, but they'll do ). I could still skip them if they don't come in cheap sets though. -

While both the Batcave and Oracle's tower were great, this is my favorite so far! Can't wait for Arkham -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion

About Iron Man's helmet, I don't have a huge problem with it, sure it looks strange, but seeing that paint job that a user gave the chin (making it dark red), I though it looked a lot nicer. So, if LEGO could just add red to the chin and clean the helmet up a little bit (whiter eyes), I'd be good with it. Though we should keep in mind that when we saw the marvel figures they all had toros decals (the faces might of been too, I don't remember), so it is possible that Iron Man's helmet will get smaller, it was likely a prototype. I don't think that they will turn back on the helmet now and give him a printed head, though it may look nicer, they've already put the money into developing the helmet. If this line lasts longer than the average licensed theme (more than two years I think), it is possible Iron Man will get a makeover. I think that would look nice, and it was recently used on Savage Opress, so it should still be in production. -

Okay then, they do need to read closer. Back to square one again with who goes where. Should give us something to do until Toy Fair. -

Yeah, even Black Widow. I don't believe it. It seems too good to be true after DC where only Batman, Robin, and Joker were in multiple sets. I'll wait until willy bob replies though, and confirms that it's his speculation publicized, which seems to be the case. -

Thank you. So the minifigure list comes from your blog? So we shouldn't trust it? (Not saying that you're guesses are bad, I'm asking if it is confirmed or not.) Edit: looking at that last link again, the set list that they had seems to be exactly what you wrote, just translated, right down to the + motorcycle/helicarrier bit. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion

Except, as others have said, it's not based on the movie. Of course, I didn't even think that there might be generic bad guys included after the DC wave which only had one generic Police Officer (unless you count the henchmen, but they were included with larger villains). Of course, it is based on a movie, so it would probably follow different rules than the comic/cartoon based DC wave (and the X-men/Spider-man sets I'll bet). Oh, and to FBTB Tim (whose post I forgot to quote ), I'd like to see that article if you can find it -

So at least three, maybe four, or even five if what Brick Heroes posted about Red Skull turns out true (would make sense unless Loki is included as the villain in the Captain America set). So doesn't seem to be as many as DC, but there is a wider range of heroes (naturally, as most of the wave is based on The Avengers). -
Super work I'd love to see other characters done, but I think it would be too much to ask.

MOC: Gotham City - Oracle's Clock Tower
SoupOrFishOil replied to BeKindRewind's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great job, and I'm really looking forward to the GCPD building and whatever comes after that (Arkham? Blackgate? Wayne Manor?). I myself am a fan of the Barbara Gordon version of Batgirl, so I'm not a fan of what Joker did to her, but I guess it did make her a stronger character in some respects Speaking of Batgirl, your Cassandra Cain figure is great too, and it was really a great idea to use Catwoman's cowl as her's (I'd know, I had the same idea ). I love the details you put into this, especially the bookshelf, elevator, clockface, and computer. I especially love how you made it playable, something I like to do with my own MOCs Again, looking forward to your next installment, would you be able to tell us how long we'll have to wait? -
The Future of Ninjago
SoupOrFishOil replied to ReZourceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I don't recall seeing it, so it might of been buried. I don't play LU so I wouldn't know if it's been accurate before, but based on your post, I'll guess that it has. It wasn't so much Jayko being kind, I just found it completely unexpected and the other three knights were just suddenly dropped as characters. In retrospect, I think that if they took a more Hero Factory approach with alternating characters, it wouldn't of been so bad, but that's just my opinion. -
I don't really think that they are looking to do that.

100% He is already confirmed to appear. -
As soon as Aanchir said his bit about them not needing to fight a villain, Hulk came to mind, I think he would make sense. Unless of course, LEGO want to depict him always as a hero, just like Catwoman is purely depicted as a villain (in the LEGO comics, magazines, website, and videogame).

The Future of Ninjago
SoupOrFishOil replied to ReZourceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It wasn't intentional, it just sort of happend I'm sure that this theme has at least a year left, I just hope that they go about this green ninja thing right-it could make or break the theme, like how Jayko suddenly being named kind in KKII ruined the story for me when I was younger. Pirates wouldn't be as unexpected as snakes or even skeletons would be too me, how long has that Pirates vs. Ninjas concept been around? But still, I think it would suit the theme and I can't tell what vehciles they would have. Boats? Motorcycles? But you know, it could always be the return of the skullkin with a new leader. That would especially make sense if Garmadon is converted back to the good side as they could be looking for revenge on him, or maybe that could be the storyline where he temporarilly teams up with the ninja (like the rumors said this year was going to be). Anyway, even if next year doesn't bring Pirates, I'm sure it will be something fun and zany. I just thought of something, if there are pirates, will they wear boots over their peg legs? -

I think they actually charge less than LEGO does. Usually. -
How do you know LoTR is a success and that POTC is continuing? But yeah, I expect one wave too.
-
Well, they don't have any villains to fight, so they'd all be like Green Lanterns. Which I must say, I found boring by the standards of the other DC LEGO comics Of course, they may only have it in the back of the instructions like the Catwoman set.

Isn't LEGO kid stuff anyway? Why not make it zany?
