  1. I try to get pieces in new or very lightly used condition whenever I can, but when I build rebel vehicles I'll loosen up and use old grays and scratched parts
  2. Sand blue is a fantastic colour and if this makes it easier to get or introduces new parts I'm all for it
  3. seriously? Before we even know anything about the set?
  4. I love this mindset! I too try to integrate certain play features and functions into my builds wherever I can, and it is so neat to see one executed as wonderfully and seamlessly as your TIE here.
  5. to add onto this, the panels of the Monarch are straight forward with the angle being defined by the wedge plate, whereas the eviscerator has the panels at an angle so that the edge of the wedge plates creates a straight line down the center. This allows for far more intricate detail along the edges of the top and bottom panels, a detail I have not really seen on any other star destroyer moc that really adds a lot to the design
  6. a while back Jerac posted a video of him tossing it onto his bed and it remained intact, so it's certainly very strong. Bricklink's showcase video also said that it was built extremely tough.
  7. Richboyjhae's model, which is of a similar piece count, has an interior but no moving legs. Every other "minifig scale" (or larger) AT-AT has had static legs, so I'd be very surprised if this model is different
  8. they'll be even more surprised when it sells badly because they didn't include jedi bob and 120 clone troopers led by phase II cody! I truly hope those people are a vocal minority as opposed to the majority of supporters, because this would fare awfully for future prequel UCS sets if they avoid it because it wasn't a $350 army builder
  9. Honestly, thank goodness Jedi Bob wasn't included. He's a meme minifig that anyone can make a custom of with ease.
  10. I never understand this argument as the red eyes were never prominent prior to Rogue One, and all the animated depictions since have really exaggerated them. You can really hardly tell in episode IV
  11. I love the way you've got the lines on the wings headed perpendicular rather than parallel, it really adds so much to the design for such a simple change
  12. what a pleasant surprise!
  13. what exactly did you mean by this? I'm just curious because the neck seems like the only place to attach things such as jetpacks, pauldrons, backpacks, etc
  14. Slave 1 and the Imperial Shuttle both came with 4 minifigs, and the Millennium Falcon is $800 (and, you know, the MILLENNIUM FALCON).
  15. 2018, 2019, 2021 all having X-Wings though?
  16. much like you said, I love when these speeders are designed where you don't have to take the figure apart in order to seat them. The shaping you've achieved here is quite pleasing, I especially like those curved slopes used just in front of the rider. Is the scout held in by anything, or does he sort of sit on top?
  17. you underestimate the people who will clamor for 35 different clone trooper helmets, lol.
  18. I've been following this moc along for some time on instagram, and it is extremely impressive. You should be extremely proud of yourself for making both a model that functions with such a degree of movie accuracy, while also being an astonishingly clean and detailed model to display.
  19. what do you mean? Like, the light bluish grey patches?
  20. with how long people spent spamming every single comment section, I'm surprised we're forgetting about the 501st battlepack so quickly
  21. The henchmen mould I suspect was made prior to the film's release, initial concept art had Dryden Voss as one of them rather than his henchmen so they probably made the mould with him in mind and didn't want it to go to waste
  22. indeed, his wrist gauntlets are also green in ESB
  23. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason has to do with scale, even at a significantly smaller than minifig scale such as this moc, the ship ends up over 4 feet wide and requiring supports for the 4 wings. The most I could really see them doing is some sort of promo polybag or advent calendar build.
  24. the only thing that makes me doubt this (aside from the consensus that "battlepacks are gone") is that the last battlepack we got was a mandalorian battlepack. Very different mandalorians, yes, but mandalorians none the less
