  1. Well, they're a little bit disappointing, but overall I'm happy. What's up with the pictures? They seem a bit oversaturated with color. Shame they passed up the opportunity of giving Flash and Reverse Flash dual molded legs. Also what's up with Superman losing his iconic hair?
  2. I will say I don't have enough information on anyone's case, but as of recently there have been a couple of notable bans. I was surprised by VaderFan's ban because although he started on this forum not following all the post rules, he seemed to eventually learn the way and even become a helpful member of the community, with his games and information. I won't tell the mods that they were wrong to ban him, because I don't really know enough details about the circumstances of the situation, but regardless I would like to invite the mods to, if they haven't already, constantly reconsider who is getting banned and who isn't, and evaluate if the standard is too harsh or not.
  3. It's insane the rate at which Lego rolls out sets. It makes it hard to stay up to date, but at the same time it gives us good discounts.
  4. That is true. I might hold on. Thanks! Thanks, I already took advantage of a bunch of those discounts. It's the damn exclusivity of the Asylum that is driving me crazy! That one doesn't seem to see a discount on Amazon.
  5. Thanks. I'm pissed that I missed their 20% off Lego Batman sale last month. Do you think a sale like that could happen again at some point before the set is retired?
  6. Does anyone have any tips on getting the Arkham Asylum at the biggest discount possible? I don't have much experience with Toys R Us. Should I wait for Black Friday? Does anyone think it might go on clearance at some point, or am I risking the aftermarket prices instead?
  7. How anticlimatic that Lady Liberty was eliminated by one vote after being able to make up that huuuge difference. Looks like I'm still rooting for the underdog. Go Hazmat! If he loses, fantasy will have 50% representation on the semi finals...
  8. Thanks @Robert8 for compiling the list and @VaderFan2187 for confirming it. I'll say I'm excited about some of these. Out of them the one that excites me the most is the elephant suit guy. I think it's a given that we'll get a nice new mold for it!
  9. What's wrong with you? I've been waiting for them during my whole life. Whoever made them deserves a Nobel prize.
  10. Thanks for the heads up. I got inspired by your post and decided to check BrickSeek for the Ultimate Batmobile in my area for Target and Walmart. I ended up realizing that there were 3 Walmarts on a 20 mile radius that had it at $99. I called one, they said they "didn't have it" and were pretty rude, the second one didn't answer, and the third one said they had 4. So I drove there, got there at 11 pm one hour before they closed, snagged some cotton candy ice cream sandwiches, and now the set is sitting in my apartment!
  11. If you become a new member of Jet.com, you can get it for slightly less than that. I just did!
  12. Whaaaat? Could it be? Lady Liberty making a comeback!!! Will liberty prevail? Edit: Aaaaand she tied!!!!!
  13. I mean this as constructive feedback. I appreciate your eagerness for space, but it would probably help if you kept the topic name shorter. Just my opinion.
  14. Bad start for Lady Liberty. Is this the end of the line? Will she be saved? I can only hope... I hate this pairing by the way. These were my two favorite minifigs out of the remaining ones. Damn you, random.org!
  15. Well, given that our beloved leakers denied specific themes, and have repeatedly refused to deny the HP/FB theme even though it has been discussed at great lengths, I think we can be 90% sure that's what the mystery licensed series is. With Batman 2 and the suits series, sounds like next year will break my wallet!
  16. We might still get Bizarro if Lego makes a different version, and I really hope we do. I would say the one we're less likely to see on sets is Phoenix, but that is none of Lego's fault. I'll be bummed if no exclusive minifigs are released this year. While they are always expensive, there is always a slight chance that the figures fill a gap in the lineup, like with the collector.
  17. At 60 votes and 9 difference, I would say it's game over for the Knight. He had a good run.
  18. Looks like the Elf will make it to the semi-finals, although by a miracle the Knight could catch up and stall this into a tie. It'll be interesting to see if anything like that happens overnight (for us in the American continent).
  19. I would say the lack of votes aren't necessarily caused by that. Even great Disney CMFs perform poorly. The audience for this game is more of a "regular minifig" kind of audience. Heck, exceptional sci-fi figures lost against some not as exceptional CMFs. So it's hard to argue about the general appeal when the sample of people who vote in this game is not completely representative of the general sample of minifigure fans, much less Batman fans. Even things within Batman's own comic, accepted universe, don't always make the most sense (and before you say "the golden age of comics was silly anyways", don't forget Christo's Zebra Batman is highly sought after by customs collectors). The range of seriousness in Batman's representations goes from outright ridiculous to realistic and dark. So it's hard to argue that there is a standard that most Batman fans people agree to. The truth is some people enjoy caricatures of the characters they love (Spider-Ham anyone?). Some fans will love them and some won't. Some people enjoy it when the representations take creative liberties, and some hate it. That is one of the reasons why the Batman CMFs can be divisive. While I understand that some collectors dislike the ridiculous suits, they have their own appeal with certain fans, and they make as much sense as Zebra Batman.
  20. Sure, I agree with all of what you say. But I'm pointing out that if we talk about what "makes sense", a lot of things don't make sense in the super hero world in the first place.
  21. Wow, this round will certainly tear fantasy/historic fans apart! I went with the elf because to me he has more intricate detail. Regarding the Lego Batman suit, well, those suits are not for everyone. Lego Batman is a caricature of Batman, hence Batman's variety of suits is taken to a silly extreme on purpose. Granted, if we're going to debate whether or not they make sense, dressing up as a bat doesn't make that much sense in the first place, and I say that as a bat fan.
  22. Yeah, I kiiiind of feel like it'll be a waste of a slot to make a repeat suit. But it might be a way for them to save on molds.
