[GBW] - Sidebuild - Brotherhood - The Way Things Are
Dutch Thriceman replied to TheBeeze's topic in The Great Brick War
Fantastic work I love the presentation and development of the story, I think for my next two builds I am going to make an effort to present the story more like this, not sure if I'll manage but I do adore it so. -
Location: Soalon, Brokal Date: ***Redacted*** Time: ***Redacted*** Objective: ***Redacted*** Mithril 1: Remember, in and out, quick and quiet. KLR doesn't have any official presence here, we take out the V.I.P. and then retreat. Mithril 2: Sir, two possible hostiles spotted, possibly Brick of Nations Military Police. They're in our way. MP 1: Man, can't believe we got stuck on guard duty, nothing ever happens here. MP 2: Hmm yeah yeah, have you noticed, the flowers are beautiful this time of year. Mithril 1: Crap, we can't go around them, no time. Take them out. Mithril 3: I got a shot, permission to engage. Mithril 1: M2 take right, M3 take left. Mithril 2: Affirmitive Mithril 3: Affirmitive ___ [Not] Introducing KLR's black-ops, Mithril. Founded by the Kriviyat Zpezial Police in ***Redacted***, for the express purpose of ***Redacted*** and ***Redacted***. Like the non-existant resource they are named after, Mithril doesn't officially exist. You Saw [No]thing! ___ I really felt like attempting a small but detailed urban scene / vignette for a while now, so I ended up working on this build for a few days. Let me know if you have any feedback. Btw what do you think of this alternative background I got: I wanted to try it out but not sure about it. I think I prefer plain white but I am curious to hear your opinion. I guess nods down makes more sense with the blackground, I honestly didn't realize they had nods down until now posting the pics (the build is already scrapped as I need the parts lel) (*Edited to fix typo)

Advance through the Ardennes, December 1944

Not just the terrain, I like the Panzer too -
Great, aesthetic, build. I feel like this should have been front paged if it wasn't already.

Nice one, maybe try sideways brick wings attached with snot bricks/plates next time? I think that might look really cool.

Really cool model, great work.

Somewhere in Soalon grid M17, a covert military base has been established by a joint KLR - Koszmar taskforce. It's goal, to act as supply depot for the ALF and home base for K.R.A.S.O.D. operators. Constructed entirely out of shipped-in prefab parts, and equipped with the latest tech KLR engineers had to offer. The following images showcase a fraction of this joint taskforce operating base. Sasha: Alright listen up guys, approx 20 hours ago PSIC recovered intel from a Brotherhood defector. That intel got sent to PSIC High Command, were our 'friend' then sent the info to us. Oleg: Wait, we have a friend in PSIC High Command? Lola: Yes a KLR spy dummy, by the way where is Mayk, he is never around? Sasha: He took up watch duty in the nearby guard tower, anyway as I was saying we got the PSIC intel which among other things shows a Brotherhood presence in the nearby village at grid M15, ALF already sent an advanced scouting party to recon the village. Director Ice-Coldman asked us to take the village for the glory of the great KLR alliance. Get prepped we move out in 2 hours! ___ If you notice anything weird, my photobox was not large enough for this MOC so I had to get a bit creative... made this a pain in the megablocks to photograph. Since Parm explained in universe how PSIC is all-knowing I decided to explain it for KLR a bit as well

Thanks Nom, I am actually working on a new very largely Warhammer inspired project, I'm not quite ready for it yet as it's a big project that will take some time but I hope to finish and post it sometime in spring. Thank you for the kind words Faladrin. Thanks SATSOK -

I think it is great you thought about this. Nice build btw, my favorite detail is the little planter patch next to the building. -
If we are talking Brickmania or something like that, I have 0 of their products, can't for the life of me afford/justify to spend 300 to 500 Euro's on a set that in terms of loose bricks on bricklink or some such might cost between 50 and 100 euro's at most. For me I love Military / Sci-Fi / Post-Apoc / Punks (Cyber, Steam, Diesel etc) so I will just naturally be more interested to take Lego and use the Lego system to build something set in those themes. Yes exactly, a large amount of (Adult!) fans of Lego dissaproves of building in Military theme, this is from polls and forum threads that I have seen around the internet throughout the years... I used to be a TFOL who only built Castle but kept an eye on the above mentioned themes, now I returned to the hobby as a AFOL who lost most of his interest in Castle but finally has begun to build in all those other themes

Yes great job and many thanks, btw Beeze I am not allowed to use something over a 500x100 resolution for some reason.

Hey Parm, why not post this in GBW instead? Awesome build btw

Fantastic, definitely something I'd put on my display shelf!

Yea, I am sad to have missed the golden times on flickr tbh, I sometimes scroll through galleries of old builds (from between 2010 and 2015) and notice that almost always there are like 20+ comments, sometimes rude things are being said but mostly it's cool moc discussion and compliments. Not sure about that, if you join all the various lego groups and post in those you should reach whomever is still an active flickr user right? edit* on a side note, I would like to see a Lego specific platform grow and thrive, I am really interested in Blockheads, haven't joined it yet myself but something like that seems promising.
-
Ah that is really cool, so basically everybody just keep making epic builds Edit* obviously nobody responding to the insta is not very cool... nobody responds to my flickr builds either, I try to post my builds to as many different groups as possible to reach the largest possible audience.
-
So we can enter builds we were working on anyway for both the game and the giveaway. I am glad to read the exempt as I don't have insta, but I do keep promoting GBW every single time I make a new build on Flickr.

Wow, lovely diorama and very entertaining and well done presentation SATSOK. It's fantastic how you thought of the little details like irrigation for the crops! -
