There’s one falling asleep in his bed next to me right now. He’s constantly complaining that the Balrog Booknook is the only set he’ll ever be able to get. But I fear he’s the exception rather than the rule. At his birthday party today, none of the other 7 year olds had the faintest clue what LotR was. Stars wars and Minecraft are the current orders of the day.

What’s the most you’ve spent on a single piece?
Rjbricks replied to Rjbricks's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Agreed, it’s awesome. Couldn’t justify paying so mich for one figure so I bought the whole set on sale and sold off the rest of the figures and ship. Torso actually works pretty well too. I’ve switched the arms round and have a cloak hiding the buttons on the back. -
Ongoing Transformers Rumors and Discussion

Damn, they had to go and do the cassette . Now I have to buy it. And explain to my kids what a cassette tape is… -
Not a bragging contest, just curious really. And hopefully people have spent loads and will make me feel better! I really want to get the Overwatch Reinhardt helmet but it’s £10 at least. And a gold chromed dragon helmet but those are £13 at least. Most I’ve spent on a single brick is £8 for the Quadruple convex black slope for the Black Falcons’ fortress.

Nice! Love the purple background in the ‘evil’ mirror image.

This is awesome! Have acquired the DnD set but not yet built it. Hadn’t realised how well it goes with the LKC. love the sacrifice scene

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Rjbricks replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice ideas! I'm envisioning the snake warrior being some kind of particularly unethical mercenary group. I think the Horse Knights actually fit the Brettonian Knights colour scheme the most though. -
Haven’t looked on other regions but already seeing brand new sets on eBay in the UK for 20% discounts. Fingers crossed we’ll see some sales on Black Friday etc on this set.

Is it just me or is Army building really really expensive?
Rjbricks replied to Alcarin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Have to be honest, I’m not entirely sure what to do with my figs now. Started building a few years back and enjoyed collecting individual elements that I’d piece together and finding bargains on eBay/facebook. Then I started collecting sets and all the figures went into the ‘armies’ and I’ve got about 1000 little figures in plastic bags in the loft. At some point I’ll have to write it all down so that my family know to match figures with sets in the event of my untimely demise, otherwise they’ll be selling golden knights and MVR goats for 99p on eBay… -

Rjbricks replied to Alcarin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Vintage figs have certainly soared in value. When I started collecting from bricklink and eBay I’d have a £1.50 limit per figure. Including some form of weapon etc. Same with the castles themselves. Kick myself now I didn’t get some of the black knight/dragon knights castles. Didnt as they were all a little over £100. see them on for £300+ now… -

Rjbricks replied to AmperZand's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice. Like how you’ve yellowed them. Ive done something similar. Modded some of them to fit thematically. Others stock as they work well enough (tzass tam, vampire guy). lady of pain I have no idea what to do with…- 7 replies

Rjbricks replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Picked up 3 full sets last week, toy shop near me scan them all and label the boxes anyway so guarantee you get the ones you want. No problem with stock from what I saw, probably should have swiped all the Dragonborns. Just don’t know what I’d do with them all! Very pleased in general but like most, think the Lady of Pain is too unusable outside of DnD.- 685 replies

@Arjo, I know the feeling :( when I’ve wanted a full box I’ve gone via eBay. One of the sellers does discounts (normally £119) for 36 figures if you buy directly.- 685 replies

Classic vs. modern (set 6055 vs. 10305)
Rjbricks replied to The Reader's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I like the second one (and have done something similar myself). The sand green torso may not go great with red legs but then I don’t think the grey one does either! -
