    And I get that logic. I note that some of the Star Wars packs are 4 figures and some bricks and a premium is charged. And whilst I don’t like it, I could accept it. But that’s unlikely to happen with Castle. And whilst army builders appear to have deeper pockets than most, Lego aren’t going to sell 25 x 10305 sets to someone who just wants 200 figures.

    By making us buy £350 sets? Can’t see that working long term. No one who wants 200 new Lion Knights is going to spend nearly £10,000 on sets. I see the logic in waiting a few months for that exclusivity to fade but after that? We know how quickly the Black Falcons sold, I can’t see the new Lions selling any less quickly.

    Finally built this today. It’s huge. For people who don’t usually display massive Lego structures on their house, it’s somewhat overwhelming. It’s also fabulous. and now sadly has been deconstructed and put inside bags and packed away in the loft already. Only bugbear was 2 missing parts, which was a bit of a shame.

    Great idea with the shield wall. Scorpion motif doesn’t fit with my current factions though I have used a few kk2 knights into ‘baddies’.

    Yes, they were. After medieval blacksmith came out. PAB kept selling out but they were available.

    I don’t think we can compare sets of yesteryear to a set that’s selling right now. It does feel people are making these considerations in a vacuum. US consumer confidence is at its lowest since February last year (when Lego was benefiting from the pandemic) and it’s the same picture across Europe. Considering here in the UK a third of households are heading for energy poverty by the end of the year (my annual bill will be $5,000) per year, it’s not surprising that a luxury item for a luxury toy isn’t flying out of the stores.

    If I hadn’t got the GWP I’d have held off ordering this. It’s a great set but it is expensive.

    Glad I’m not a Harry Potter fan than as I’ve built most of it and it’s huge. I’ve no idea where I’m going to put it. In fairness, I’ve not got other castles as a comparison. Ninjago and Diagon alley might be bigger and better value but I’m not interested in them.

    So after the box taunting me for a week, I’ve managed to get to bag 13 today. Rather concerned that it’s slightly massive! My mind is blown by those here who think it’s too small!

    I do like that ramp. No way I’m doing much MOCing (I mean it’s already huge) but that ramp does look pretty good.

    Love the hopeless optimism of 8 years ago! 😃 Disappointing. May get one of these for the novelty (and medium short legs) but I’m not tempted for more than that.

    They look fine. But the hole for the plume is narrow and the holding section can snap easily if you’re not careful.

    I have been wondering what I'm going to do with the helmets. All my lion archers have the dark grey bullet helmets which there's no silver replacement for :(

    Interesting thread this. I’m now debating whether I have the time/money to switch weapons for different torso types. E.g chain mail for 2 handed weapons, more cloth looking for spear men (meat shields), plate for cavalry. I suspect that’s a rabbit hole that could wind up very expensive…

    I feel for you. I have the “luxury” of not having the time or space to build it even when it dies arrive. Otherwise I’d be extremely narked to find it’s been delayed.

    They could. But for whatever reason the ticket to add that logic to the code isn’t deemed high enough priority by the product owner. It could be as simple as the dev team haven’t been told that the conditions for gwp require this. Would absolutely not surprise me.

    Hideout still available as a GWP in the UK and now the VIP pirates pack gets bundled in too. Should have waited a day after all…

    Agreed. Though pearl dark gray looks pretty good. Shame the pearl dark grey visor is so rare.

    My Ming boggles ar the thought of the space needed for 4 castles! I don’t have room for 1!

    Don’t actually expect Europe to run out of the hideout or the castle today but still ordered at midnight just in case. I’d be very sad if I waited just to get the pirate back and then missed out.
