  1. So it's not a super AFOL-style Chess Set NOR a child-friendly Playset? Oh my.
  2. Already sold out, in one day ! Went like magic and never to be seen again!
  3. Could be a Bell Tower set, but in the 2021 Anniversary design.
  4. KA1 made a claim about a leak a couple pages back. They teased they had a juicy leak a while ago and that they would report it in a couple days but never gave us the information.
  5. That's confirmation it's NOT Dobby's Sock then, since so many fans want it
  6. I knew someone was going to say that :P
  7. I'm skeptical since KA1 said they'd have a juicy spoiler in a matter of days and just disappeared until now, when someone ELSE posted speculation of the rest of the series being brickbuilt.
  8. Well, I have a limited budget of sets, and have typically prioritized HP, but if it's too many bricksets, it frees me up to buy other sets on my Maybe List :) True on the Hooch1 I am a sucker for good minifigures. Who knows. I can just dip into retirement and buy all of them
  9. Oh my. I hope not! Hegwig was ok, but i can't imagine what a 120 brickbuilt could be that would excite me to buy it. If all of them are brickbuilt creatures, my budget can now include the newly leaked Discovery/Hubble set. Definitely agree.
  10. Yeah, i see why Guyon and Falcon said the wave will be disappointing to fans earlier expecting DH and Gringotts. I bet, though, it'll look incredibly good! If it's anything like the 2008 Castle one, it could potentially be fantastic. I hope there are some side builds or something extra HP.
  11. Makes me wonder what the Luke's Landspeeder will be of the HP line? Ford Anglia? Quidditch Set?
  12. As long as it's the official Sorting Hat!
  13. True! But I can always dream.
  14. It's even teased in Diagon Alley. I'd be surprised if they didn't at least make Borgin and Burkes.
  15. I can see this being true. The Golden Qurriell seems to also have a subtly different face, especially with the new leaked pictures showing more detail. The leak shows a side-by-side comparison of each and Golden Quirriell. It seems more symmetrical than the original. Just though of a name for Quirrell - Aurrell - since the Periodic Table symbol is Au for the Latin for Gold Aurum.
  16. Is there any news or rumors of an upcoming convention exclusive? Be curious what they will do now they know SDCC is virtual in 2021.
  17. That one is definitely one of my dream sets I'd love to see someday. I too would be curious how you or lego would make the interiors. I'd think there'd be a tough balance between being true to the movies - since so much seemed to require depth - but also just showing all the scenes from the films. What would you try to do for the open door function? Ooo, nice. Woudl this be a sort of touch-mechanism or some kind of push/pull?
  18. I agree not all of us has asked Guyon or Falconfan for leaks or inside info, as it comes out when it comes out. I and many others are of the opinion that if anyone doesn't like when people discuss speculation, disappointment, excitement, etc. here within the rules and don't like the forum, they don't have to be here. Some have not respectfully asked but are attacking others, sadly. Which, if i am not mistaken was mine, Max, since i was the one to use "boxy" and haven't recalled seeing anyone else say that. I get your frustration and perhaps i shouldn't have responded with even MORE detail. I felt that, while some people indeed just come here to say "oh, these sets are bad!", I was trying to differentiate from those with and show some of us had legitimate concerns, about the sets and about the direction of HP. and the reasons why. I wanted to show that some people, like me, have grown to like them, but still concerned, but i get why people are so frustrated seeing that. Always enjoyed your previous posts and don't want to make this forum a fight club, so will end that kind of discussion. I also have some professional experiencing in marketing which certainly comes into play in my discussions. To get back on track - if you could design one lego HP set, what would you want to design?
  19. Whatever figure it is, it'll fail us for the last time...
  20. Since it appears to be semi-directed towards me, I must remind you that this page is called - "harry potter 2021 rumors discussion". Feelings about those said rumors and discussion thereof constitute this and fall under the site's rules. Whining about people or their actions ON the forum, stating their thoughts or opinions, does not. It's sad this topic has become very toxic and people can't express their opinion. Can we get back to talking about the rumors? Just looked it up and is an odd cover! Would make an excellent Moments set What did they translate Voldemort into in the Italian version?
  21. Here's my opinion based on Marketing and Design, of which I have some experience, of both the latest series and the anniversary and will contrast them with the modern versions. I will also include my reaction at first and my reaction now seeing them for the first time after a while. My Initial reaction I think for many, including myself, we were used to the 2018-2020 sets and how AMAZING they were. For me as an AFOL who has had a couple dark ages, I literally came back to Lego because I found these sets so fantastic. I never collected the older Lego sets, really, except for one or two, and didn't really like the look of the older castle sets. I was pretty frustrated seeing how much of a step back these sets took in terms of the look, detail, and style, were and didn't want to buy them initially. 2018-2020 sets Design is ultra-modern, incorporating the latest techniques and styles. The modular aspect is a great appeal as both kids and adults can mix and match and make the castle their own in display. The design attempts to find lots of details of the movies and perhaps is one of the best attempts by Lego. The designs show that incredible level of detail absent in other lines. Overall the sets work well as a whole, minus a couple, partially because of that modular ability. The design finds a balance of playability for children and display ability for AFOLs. Marketing Marketing for 2018-2020 may be the best part of this, as it seems to appeal to all sexes in it's crossover appeal, as well as the adults with new children (or any AFOL) who first grew on Harry Potter. Anniversary Sets Design - Then and now, I find the sets a bit blocky, boxy, and overall not designed to the level of Lego in 2020. Attention to detail is lost for combining sets into one. Contrast this to the Star Wars Anniversary Sets that "modernized" old sets to the modern ascetics, or the Ninjago aspects that added the Golden Figures to both new and remade sets. The design is not awful, not by a long shot, but in contrast to the 2018-2020 sets, it does show a step back. Again, this is based solely on the preliminary leaks and could change, and my opinion may grow if the attention to detail is on the inside. The ability for stackable sets, while great in theory for displaying, may backfire if the sets look too much like tetris, and has some more limitations based on the 2018-2020 series. Examples of design that falls flat for me in the new leaked sets - Old-style garage piece in the top part of the bathroom set, only including one bathroom stall, the boxy nature of the set in comparison to the Room of Requirement set that it will be priced at. Also, having the Chamber of Secrets, Fluffy, etc, - sets fans have been loving - combining them in multiples means we won't get them probably ever in the 2018-2020 look. Marketing Like that Cube Car from a few years ago, the anniversary sets appear to try to appeal to a very thin specific market and loses that balance of the modern sets. It markets for either brand new children of age (which can be a positive) but limits the nostalgia aspect to those who would like the older series from their own childhood, and loses that focus on general fans of HP. Having a design look to close to the old-style means it will look severely dated in comparison to 2018-2020, and fans of Lego who know HP only at a glance would more often than not think they are older sets. From a Marketing standpoint, it also doesn't make sense to have an entire year's worth of sets look so different than what was before, without some kind of marketing push. Here is where Lego is dropping the ball on the marketing of this new design, and begs the question "why?". Overall look now and thoughts Part of the leaks caused a Shock due largely to it looking for many as a literal step back in sets, after being spoiled by the fantastic design of the modern series. It also was a shock due to the potential TREND this could mean for us. Is this a one-off year, or is the 2018-2020 modular design done? This is the crux of the criticism, frustration, and even the "whining" about the new design. Personally, on their own, they look better now than they did when they first came out. They still do not meet the level of design of the modern sets, and definitely don't give me that Marie Kondo Spark of Joy. However, they seem enjoyable enough, the minifigure selection seems great and may be similar to the modern version. Those combined with new fluffy and Basilisk and I'm budgeting that I will buy the June wave. I'll waitto make my final decision when I see the actual sets shown to us. Moreover, I see why people LIKE them, but for us who love the older sets, we were a bit shocked and severely disappointed we weren't getting more modular-era sets, and worried that they may never come back.
  22. They did rerelease two Ideas sets - Saturn V and the Ship in a Bottle - same exact sets but different Lego #. But for star wars, it'd surprise me for an exact re-release, especially from a set from almost 10 years ago.
  23. Yep, I think Lego sometimes has a "oooo, close enough" on some of the costumes, when they try to reuse them. AFOL's are like this whenever there's a hint of something.
  24. OOOOO, your post just made me realize something. Now i get why the Dursley's were the way they are! With a constant Horcrux constantly near them for 11 years, they took on the bad attitudes. Mind shattered.
  25. That's wildly cryptic! Tried looking at old ones and can't figure out most of them, except for MBOB, but even then, why is Baby Harry there?
