I can also see a dramatic rush job if there was a reschedule, in comparison to the other sets, since they may have already had some form of development with say. I could see a scenario where they were already in some kind of development development period for Gringotts after Diagon Alley got approved, but then whammo! "MaKE an ANiVersArY YeAR" made by a WB or Lego Exec forced all work stopped on those sets and a mad dash to make nearly 10 or so sets.

Will be very useful for making MOC Ferrero Rocher if it is a golden snitch. Edit - responded before reading the more recent rumors. lol

If sales of buildable creatures do well, I can definitely see buildable Patronus (Patronii?) being created...if we could get a set with all pieces in translucent blue...

Did you just indirectly confirm that one of the remaining sets is a buildable broom with Hooch minifigure? Shocking if so, but not unexpected.

Not sure why, but the Vadar looks to me like he's sort of smiling and seems just happy go lucky, as if he's smiling to get a picture taken. Not the Vadar I know.

It does sound like Lego is investing much MORE into the theme. I thought I read that for 2021, they added an extra wave, and therefore basically made an Anniversary Wave as the "established" sets for the year to bring a celebration to the theme and then some experimental sets with the extra money for the theme. Even more positively, IF there is a Gringott's bank coming, they now have extra time and maybe more resources to make it fantastic!

Ugh, yeah, that thing was creepy enough I didn't buy it. Baby Yoda was such a cute little set to buy. Hope Fawkes is like that and the price point is between Hedwig and Baby Yoda.

I really think it has something to do with sales of Baby Yoda's character, combined with probably overall sale increases across the board. My guess is character sets were higher than others, hence the sudden shift to this. Only a guess though.

Did i misread somwhere on a leak that 72394 is a vehicle? Was this already debunked? I can't recall with so many leaks and pseudo-leaks?

I can see that the Original 3 and all the pawns could be minifigures, with teh pawns having a sort of brickbuilt or molded turtle shell for them. If they adhere to the scenes fairly accurately, I'd think all the other pieces would be a lot taller and more solid, perhaps have minifigures, but not necessairly. If they follow their trend of Lego Chess sets, almost every set they have made - every piece IS technically a minifigure. 852293: Castle Giant Chess Set has all minifigure sets. My guess is it depends on how much they adhere to the overall look fo the set. I still would imagine it's most like 852293.

Hmm...Wonder if all the sets for the Anniversary line wrap around the Chess Set, making a sort of castle with nearly all Chamber of Secrets-era scenes. Therefore the other sets will show the scenes getting to the Room where the final battle occurs.

I believe it's still being sold in a variety of web stores, still available at lego.co.uk, and in the US and currently only "temporarily out of stock" at lego.com. Should be retired this year due to this new one coming out. I'd imagine that is what @Metanoios91 is inferring.

Least he didn't write like a treatise of paragraphs like I did a while back on disappointment. :P While I agree, I am actually pretty excited about a Chess Set since I absolutely love both the scene in the movie as well as the book. Add to that the Queen's Gambit giving a new found appreciation for Chess! Given how much money they raked in last year, I'm very curious how they are looking at their future lineups. Given the leaks here, and elsewhere in the other themes, as well as the seemingly increase in D2C sets, it seems there is a complete and fundamental shift in their strategies. I wonder if HP seems to be bearing it a lot lately for better or worse. Curious if this "Build Lego Together" strategy is a large part of it.

Yeah, I could see a very good Fawkes buildable being the 59.99 set - 76392 making it just a bit larger.

HAHA, I assume many would have tried overturning their tables if this info released out of nowhere and we spent months speculating on how Hooch would have fit into the Gringotts Bank set. I myself am more excited than I thought about a Chess Set and hope it turns out at least ok. If nothing else, it could be a good parts set to make a good Battle of Hogwarts MOC

I definitely agree @Retro Brick Reviews. This set could be fantastic if done well. So much potential for such an iconic scene. I could even see them including sort of "vignettes" of all 7 of the tasks he had to get through that would go underneath the Chess Board or be small modular on the side. (Snap Task, please!). This could account for the "in-between" aspect of the set. Pipedream for sure but I wonder if we could also get a new stand-alone Voldemort in the set. Voldemort right after Quirrell turned to dust and Voldemort was a spectre. He could have be completely opaque and with a Dementor "leg" and a dark opaque torso and head. A dream perhaps better served in a CMF series?
