  1. I see where you're coming from. the Titan would have to be over level 100 to damage a reinforced Hoke at all. If he had a high enough level to deal any damage to Hoke, he would instantly knock out anyone else on the team. I still don't think it's a terrible idea for bosses whom you don't want heroes to wait it out on, to deal badly poisoned or some such effect with their hits, although changing the counterstrike gloves to mirror damage also makes a lot of sense. However, then they'd almost start becoming items for other classes rather than knights. Oh...failed to see the ruling.
  2. Hmm...I should have thought of that before selling those tools to Docken. Thanks for letting me know, Sandy.
  3. I don't know. Seeing the battles in the fields makes me glad that I'm not there. I think they're plenty difficult. You have to realize that the team in there has an insanely powerful attacking force. Perhaps, as an alternative idea against the counterstriking battles, you could have your boss's drops get reduced as the battle wears on. For instance, he drops 10 less gold per round or the SP/WP of the Weapon/Shield/Artifact is dropped by one per round, etc. Also, CMP used a nice strategy where the opponents dealt negative effects with their weapons, which would make the hero get poisoned/badly poisoned/cursed even without actually taking damage from the hit itself. Of course, there are immunities to such effects, but not everyone has crazy builds at this time.
  4. Yes, but I don't want to think about that for Benji's sake.
  5. What is he trying to get off of me? I wonder. This should be interesting. "So, 'Arasmyth,' when did we last meet?"
  6. "Don't play with me, kid. They told me Arasmyth died. You don't even look a great deal like him. You could be his son perhaps...with the same name? I'm willing to grant you that."
  7. Endgame, and no. Are you serious? Benji is going to go artisan? I'm scared already. We already aren't sure if he's male or female or animal or what.
  8. Sandy, an Artisan's Shield makes use of the items available from Gnomeo's shed. I have the Magnificent Microscope, which is a combination of the Magnifying Glass and the Telescope, would I be able to use the "Shield" ability of both those tools with that single tool, or will I need to buy ones from Gnomeo's shed? Also, does my Magic Shovel count as a real Shovel? These classes look set to be awesome!
  9. And having a marvelous time too. I do tend to agree with Scorpiox though that this will make most buffing consumables less interesting for non-rogue classes. Maybe we should just not make Tiger balms available at the Marketplace or something. It doesn't really matter to me though, as I use a buffing consumable like once per quest, if that. "I'm thirsty, got a potion?" "Yep! Here!" "Wow! Just holding it makes me not thirsty anymore. Have it back." "Great!" "Uh, oh! I feel thirsty again..." ...ad infinitum!
  10. "Right, right! My apologies, I believe we spoke sometimes ago. How's the defense coming along? I'll take those 27 coins off of you then. I accept the 27 Gold and Hand Docken the Magnifying Glass and Shovel. "Picked up this Magnificent Microscope in my last quest. Combines the uses of the Magnifying Glass with that of the Telescope. A useful device really." I look at the weirdy beardy being in front of me, with a mixture of disdain and disgust. "Well, what kind of abomination have we here. I guess you may as well have this venom. Don't be using it on me. I'll give you 2 for 5 Gold if you want. They're of more use to your sort than they are to me." I take the 3 Gold and give Avalanche the Venom. If Avalanche wants my other Venom, I'll give it to him for 2 Gold.
  11. In which universe?
  12. Ignoring the chance to slay demons in order to go shopping.

  13. I tack a post to the board: Items for Sale: Magnifying Glass - 20 Gold Shovel - 7 Gold Soma - 30 Gold Venom - 3 Gold
  14. Phew, Quest 85 looks really great for me, but I'm sure I'll miss the Marketplace one if I go on it.
  15. "How kind of you, Mr...pardon if I've forgotten your name... "Really, your gift is most generous. Here..." I hand Barty Docken my Magnifying Glass Scroll of Disenchantment. "Treat it with care." "Do I know you?" I query somewhat suspiciously. The hero knows my name, but doesn't look familiar. Perhaps my fame has spread far and wide.
  16. I'm Palathadric, I use emoticons when they aren't needed and forget to use them when they are.
  17. "Believe me, I've kept a close eye on the door. The demon has not entered yet. Blind of mind, heart and eyes!"
  18. I recognize the man who sold the Heavy Flail and Robe of the Archmagi to me. He looks a darn sight better than the last time I saw him. Perhaps my influence is paying off. "Don't toy with my, kid! Arasmyth died months ago now. Were you the devil that signed his name here. I was half suspecting that undead freak, seeing that the demon didn't get in here before I did. "By the way, Erik, could I have my Smoke Bomb back? And that goes for the druid too."
  19. Oh, I just remembered now... I hate you! Die, scum!
  20. I was KOed in my first two battles and once more in my first quest. I haven't been until this last quest. Though two of those times in my first quest, should totally not have been. I hate Capt.JohnPaul! I may forgive, but I never forget. Mwahahaha!
  21. I stroll into the hall. What a tiresome day it has been. Casting a glance over at the questboard I see the quests up. Something about hunting demons in the desert. Sounds fascinating, but I think I need a break from questing. Maybe something will come up later this month. I sit down with a heave and sigh and plop my feet up on my cart. "Cherry tomatoes!" I call, snapping at the orcish barmaid. Plucking the list of sign-ups for the current quests I check over the names. None of these seem particularly familiar... I stop at one. "Alright, which of you has taken you evil to the next level? It's one thing to not like the dead, but another to disrespect and mock them entirely!" I hold up the list, pointing at Arasmyth's name. Seriously, who would do such a thing. What kind of cruel joke is this?
  22. Thanks, Pie! I really enjoyed your quest. I really have to put among my favourites, although I have to say it got a tad annoying at the end when I knew I was doing something wrong with the battles, but couldn't figure it out and no one else seemed to bother to point it out, but we got through it alright. And yes, I have a phobia about giving out loot and am always afraid that I'm giving out too much to people. I think Vash's fear that Dreyrugr may not get much loot with me as party leader was dealt with pretty smoothly by him stealing a good portion of the loot. I loved interacting with the PCs and NPCs alike and I think you have a tremendous talent for creating unique characters. You also made your battles very interesting. They certainly could have been much more easily winnable with the use of consumables, but I've always had a phobia about asking people to use their hard-earned consumables in a battle that we could win without them. Also, my thoughts are that unless you're a rogue who can get more money from using a consumable than otherwise, you may as well not use them if you can win the battle without them. Clearly this isn't the most sound logic. I really liked the battle with Gontzo and co. It was annoying, but fun, especially at the end. It was a horrific moment for Pretzel, first getting knocked out for the first time since his first quest, then having his party side with the Wolfgang, the people who just knocked him out, then the fact that none of the party bothered to use a Phoenix Essence on him, and finally that Nessa instead used her Phoenix Essence on Big Red. I already had myself all prepared to take Pretzel down the "dark path" of anger and distrust or whatever, but then DLL had to come in and smooth everything over or at least get Pretzel to stop replaying the whole scene in his mind. Great time all around. I loved the gnome's underground city and I think we bought every single item they had for sale, which was awesome. Also, I'm beginning to wonder if I have a tendency to make the quests longer than necessary. First quest...well, I won't go there since I was so new, etc. Second quest we fired through insanely fast. But then Quest 42, 59, and 69 all took an incredible amount of time considering the number of battles. I mean, even Quest 59, which had only three battles, one of which I didn't participate in, took two months. Maybe I talk too much, but it's all good. Oh, and I do have to agree that Dreyrugr is probably one of the most level-headed heroes around. My only regret from this quest is that I didn't get the Muckraker, the Opal, the Dragon shield, etc... . Although really the biggest is that I somehow promised that Scroll of Disenchantment to BD when I first bought it. BD sucks! But anyway. All is good. Thanks for hosting, and I do hope to be hosted by you again. Yeah, quite a number of heroes who joined after I did, even long after I did, are on higher levels than I am. Take Dreyrugr for one.
  23. I'm sorry, town, for not doing better. Maybe I should have pulled out when I thought I should have, but I hate pulling out of these games, especially when Town wasn't in such a good situation. So I just tried to make my way through the last half of the game. At the end I think I got complacent because I never thought anyone would vote for me over mostlytechnic or any of the other scum members. Honestly, for a while I thought that Kristel and Peanuts may have just been playing with mostlytechnic and would change their votes at the end. I was very busy in those last days, but I managed to take an extended lunch break to look seriously over the first couple of days, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to make Kristel and Peanuts change their votes. Tammo, if I had gone with the "modkilled" idea, would you have modkilled me? I was thinking of communicating with Peanuts by PM and have him tell you, but I thought you probably wouldn't interfere in such a way, especially to take the victory away from the scum.
  24. Yeah, I figured it must be something like this. ...But this makes a lot more sense. Wait, is there something special about it other than the quest number and the number of pages being the same? Murder? We know that there's only one hero who has a chance of being insta-killed by another hero on our quest team.
