"Greedy! Now, now, you are one to talk. You have no respect. Still I can see how one such as yourself would assume anyone who claims anything for themselves as greedy being that you have know mind of your own and are subject to the wills of another, hence all you have really belongs to them." At the mention of their party, Pretzel shift uncomfortably. "Well, I see no need to bring them into this. I just want to ensure that the loot was divided fairly. Hence I would have taken the sword and sold it to divide the spoils between us, but you insisted on claiming it for your own. Nevertheless, I know the worth of the sword and I shall make up for it." I plonk 250 gold on the table in front of the demon. "This is what I would have sold the sword for and divided the money between us. Still, I find that the sword may be useful for my purposes, so I shall give you the worth in gold. If your conscience forces you to share it between our other party members, so be it. If not, well then I cannot say I have not tried to do what is right." I turn to Benji and gasp in somewhat shock, reaching for Conspirator, but not finding it. I see it in the cart the raptor-ed Benji. My mind goes blank for a moment, but then I chuckle. "Ha, ha! Don't think you can pull that off on me. I have fought an actual dragon before and a furious one full of the most venomous disease. Do not think that I am afraid of you." I reach into my cloak...

Perhaps he really had that vast army that he said he did...only they were off in Laticum or something. Where's the bunny?

I return to the hall after a spot of good business. My shopping since this last quest has gone well thus far and my sales have bolstered my financial arm. Now, only one step left... I enter the hall and my eyes briefly survey the scene around me, until they alight on one individual in particular sitting alone at his table. My hands close around my favourite weapon, the weapon I've only had the chance to use in one fight thus far. "Demon," I say in a low and harsh voice, hoping those around will not be needlessly alarmed or feel the need to rush to the aid of the loot-grabber, "I believe you have something of mine. It belongs to our party. You can't just claim the loot you stole as your own, especially as I gave loot out liberally, not taking the blackness of your soul into account. Now, you will hand me that sword, you know the one of which I speak, or..." I pause and let my steak show a little.

I swear it's Odzaph! What's the demi-god up to now?
-
"The pleasure is mine. May God grant you success in your future endeavours." So saying, I return to the hall.
-
I don't see why not.
-
I do agree there.
-
I don't follow what nerfing rogues has to do with anything. And if you think my deal was great, you should have seen the deal Haldor got for his dual-striking staff.
-
He gets an upgrade from WP: 8 to WP: 10, which would be 190 gold otherwise.
-
Exactly, it worked out better for the both of us. And we agreed beforehand that I would remove the Diamond, obviously. I just wanted a chance to do that to show Pretzel's poor attempt at being sneaky.
-
"The clouds are looking gloomy today. Somewhat overcast," I divert attention from my staff as I motion for Anwyl to remove the Diamond from it. Once he's done, I slip him 50 gold and hand the Cross of Light (or not so much light anymore) to Amorith, while accepting his Dual Staff.

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Palathadric replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
It certainly sounds like a fun class. Certainly doesn't fit Pretzel, but having options is always fun. -
"Ah! Then perhaps I'll make an offer, a trade perhaps. As a Sage the effectiveness of your weapon will be lost to you. Perhaps you wouldn't mind trading it for my Cross of Light. It channels the power of ether, whether it be for healing or the elemental blasts some create. It will certainly be more effective than your current weapon. What say you?
-
Sorry about that. Get well soon. I guess the barbarians learned that fighting the Romans with massive armies didn't work in the age of Caesar, so now they're trying new tactics. It's nice. It shows two things. That they've been reading their history and that they learned something from it.

I notice Amorith at the marketplace. "Friend, I greet you. That is one fine weapon you have in your pack there. I would be highly interested in relieving you of it. Have you any other weapon?"
-
I decide to let the situation at the hall take it's course, for better or for worse, and take a stroll out by the marketplace. I need to get some armour now that I've given up the Robes of the Archmagi.

Insta-kill and 0 health? Not the same. From the insta-kills I give, you shall never rise again!
-
Don't forget "Weak to Hexing." Scrolls and Witches Shields are automatically successful against Karie. Not wise to not be immune to insta-kill. Monk Pretzel cackles moronically!
-
The number of your HP...I think it was meant to be flipped around.
-
...And what do you know? Luckily for you, we happen to be under siege as we speak!
-
No, no. I have another plan...but actually, I don't know if anything can beat 250 gold.
-
"Me?" I gasp. "Certainly not. You of all people should know that I do not fight for sport. Why don't you go and fight with your vampire. Aren't you two supposed to be enemies or something? Or are you allies under the devil. God save us!" "Calm down, barbarian. Why must you all be so hot-headed. The good knight here, is making his payments where they are due, bringing his offerings before God. I accept his offerings, and I suggest you stop trying disrupt those who are in God's favour." With the situation tensing up enormously, Pretzel finds a way to shuffle out of the heated exchange and sit a bit further away. "Kids these days, always looking for a fight!" I growl. "Now where was I?" I remove a parchment from my cart...

The last page?

Wow, Brickington, thanks!

I look up even as a knight hands me his grating stone, apparently in favour of my slaying demons. I take the Grating Stone proffered. "Why thank you, do I know you, good sir? You don't strike me as looking familiar, but under all that armour, there are few who would be familiar. You wouldn't perchance be that knight who mentioned slaying a vampire sometime back, would you? Never really got to know the fellow, but he seemed honourable enough, if the actions I've heard about are anything to go by, but you don't seem as large as I can recall him being, so I doubt it could be you of whom I speak. I shall use this stone well in the vanquishing of evil." I grin at Benji. "You see, he fears! He fears you, and he fears me. I say go and show him who is the boss. Come on! Surely you are not afraid to fight him." I goad Benji, hoping for him to start a fight with the vampire so at least one of the demons will slay the other.
