  1. Thanks for a nice review. What comes to the fig error on the instructions, I got this set when it was released six years ago, and my Devastator didn't have trans-red parts. I suppose they had two different batches of this set or something like that.
  2. Hello! I got a new camera (Canon EOS 450D) earlier this week and took some photos of this MOC. The old pics were quite grainy, so here's better ones: Better resolution on BS folder when moderated.
  3. Here's my purist Comedian from Watchmen (Comic):
  4. That Luthien minifig is excellent, nice use of ice skater accessories.
  5. This varies between countries. I guess that the German price will be 12.99-14.99€ but we in Finland have to pay 17.99€ what seems to be traditional price for the smallest licenced sets. I really like the desing of the Weathertop set, they captured the feel and the look of the location very well. But the price here will be around 80€ so I'll only get Gandalf'a arrival and the Moria set.
  6. Congrats man, I supported this on Cusoo today after seeing it having more than 9000 supports. I actually watched one of Simon Pegg/Edgar Wright films (Hot Fuzz) today, and I can say that they are one of the biggest names in comedy nowadays.
  7. Thanks for nice comments, everyone. I posted some stuff and information about this MOC in my blog.
  8. Do they humppa in Germany?

  9. The MOC is 47 centimeters high. It can stand without the base, but is a lot easier to handle with it. The skirt is removable. I'm planning to do other skirt desings. More pics in BS Gallery and Flickr. Enjoy.
  10. Oh, I really like this one. The bulky feel works well, as does the solid color scheme. The big round armor parts (My favourite piece of this year!) look nice with red jetbug head.
  11. My strangest Bionicle/HF MOC must be this Rocketship Makuta which I built three years back.
  12. Stange how "Samwise Gamgee" is titled with his full name but Merry, Pippin and Frodo are only called with their first names. Gollum looks alright to me, but I'm not happy with Gandalf's staff. The others look quite good.
  13. Goblin is basically a hobbit word for Orc. The orcs of Misty Mountains are usually referred as goblins and they are shorter than orcs of Mordor or Uruk-Hai. All of those go under the word Orc. Gandalf's cart seems must-get, but I'll wait for finnish prices of Moria and Uruk-Hai army. 2012 has suprisingy small number of sets that I have to get, so I can propably afford getting those two. The cave troll looks very promising.
  14. Gimli's helmet is like the most beautiful piece ever. I'm also glad that Boromir and Peregrin don't have any fleshie prints in their torsos.
  15. I remember that the appendixes of LOTR (The book) say that only Finarfin's people had blonde hair and other elves (including all the races, I suppose) were dark-haired. Where is told that Thranduil is blonde? I don't remember that, The Hobbit maybe? The Legolas posters look pretty cool, I'm very glad the torso doesn't have any fleshie prints. Gimli seems to be likely for the next poster.
  16. Great review! I'm really getting this set now. Some sweet parts and the figure looks quite a cool too. Your MOC-combiner is awesome, by the way.
  17. I have quite a mixed feelings about these pics, but I believe that they will appeal my eye more when they release clean official pics. I'm pretty dissapointed that none of the first wave sets have Peregrin ja Meriadoc, but I hope they'll release Crystal King -like set of Treebeard. Gandalf's Cart looks okay, I like the fireworks. It will be easy to change Gandalf's skin to yellow (because of the beard). Weathertop is a bit meh, but new standing horse is cool addition. The rock thing is just boring. Shelob looks well desinged, but I'm not too interest about it anyway. I have big hopes about Gollum fig. Uruk-hai army is cool (New horse, cool figs, useful gray pieces) and I'll likely get one. I hope they will do a similar set about Battle of the Pelennor fields. Moria looks promising, but I need some clearer pics to do my judgement. Cave troll looks nice but I would have preferred other figs instead of skellies. Gandalf with a light-up-saff would be brilliant in this set. Helm's Deep looks great! I like how they made the roundness of the Hornburg. I'd have but another rohirrim solider instead of one of the Uruks. The wall is a bit shallow though. EDIT: Hmm, hobbit in Moria set could be one of the younger hobbits. We have to wait and see!
  18. Movie-wise Shelob's attack is based on RotK. Not book-wise, but this is a movie license after all. There's also small possiblities that Gandalf's arrival and Orc forge are RotK sets. Gandalf could arrive to Minas Tirith with Peregrin and Orc Forge could be located in Mordor.
  19. Toa Ruki is Toa of water who works at the reception of organisation called Bio-Klaani. She's never been a good fighter but rather talented curer. I'm pretty pleased how this MOC came out. I know that Kaukau (especially trans blue one) is an overused mask for female Bio-MOCs, but it is one of the few masks that actually look even bit femine. Also, the guy who asked me to make this MOC liked to have Kaukau on it. Flickr Brickshelf gallery (Bigger pics) Comments & Critism welcome.
  20. Woah, these is really interesting concepts and MOCs. Dual Dour is my favourite, can't wait ti see it in a brick form!
  21. I traded blended dark orange/reddish brown dwarf beard from my friend who got it from Dwarves Battle pack. It can be seen in this bit blurry photo.
  22. Päivää. Suomalainen-LEGO-Tolkienisti? Kuinka siistiä. Käynyt suomalaisessa LUGissa, Palikkatakomossa?

  24. Great news indeed! When the last Batman line existed, I was foolish enough to buy none of the sets, but this will fix my wrong choices. I have never been very interested in Wonder Woman or Man of steel, but Bats is cool. I hope they release set with Jim Gordon this time, he has always been my favourite Batman character.
  25. (I'm not completely sure is this right theme forum, but if I remember right, unofficial licences go to other themes) I have been getting into Miniland scale building lately. After some contests in our Finnish LUGs, I tried to build characters from Alan Moore's and Dave Gibbon's graphic novel Watchmen. I made the main characters expect Doctor Manhattan, beacause I don't own a lot light/medium blue bricks. From left to right, Silk Spectre II, Nite Owl II, The Comedian, Rorschach and Ozymandias. Close-ups: The Comedian, probably the easiest of the bunch to build. Nite Owl II, the cape was quite hard to build. Silk Spectre II: Rorschach: Ozymandias. The costume was pretty hard ro build because those 2x3 wedge plates were my only purple pieces.
