The LEGO board games has been won a ToyInnovation award in the "Games + Action" category at the N

Well, actually you're wrong there. The green, four armed, fig is squidman. Since the name is "squidman" it's a safe bet that the fig has more arms and/or legs than a normal fig. I know that kids would expect this. And from what I've seen it's only the green fig that has this with his four arms. Besides, just because he's in the gold heist set doesn't mean he's not in the squidman set. Both the cyclops guy and the guy with pointy things on top of his head are featured in more than one set. And I've also *cough*had-a-peek-in-the-retailers-catalogue*cough*. :) So it would make me extremely suprised if any other of the alien figs we've seen so far would be squidman.

I've found a ripped off piece of a milk box. It was that little tip you pull off to open them. A breakfast build??
-
That would be nice but I think they're refering to the replacement parts form.

Could just as well be that LEGO UK decided to ge onboard with that board games experiment and decided to let it take SP III's place. Wouldn't suprise me if it was so...

The release is an experimental release made in Germany and England only. If the games sell well they'll be released in the rest of the world. If it doesn't work out they will be canceled instead.
-
If you live in England or Germany: yes. Rest of the world: not yet. Maybe never... AFAIK there won't be any minfigs in the games. Not in the normal size of a minifig anyway... The LEGO dice is "buildable" with 2x2 studs on each side for tiles, plates or whatever you want.

They may have mixed up the info or something. I was told almost the same thing about the new games range but they were said to be exclusive to England and Germany and not North America.
-
Here's some info about the upcoming games. From what I hear the games will only be released in England and Germany this year. The rest of the world will have to wait and see what happens. The games are brickbuilt, has rules that you can add to as you like and the dice is customizeble with 2x2 studs on each side.

If so Sweden is also part of this experiement. Since I have confirmation on 7 sets that will be released in toystores in august. One of them might also turn up as a TRU and/or BR exclusive or will just be sold via S@H.

I just got confirmation from LEGO that Space Police is released in Europe in august. At least it's released in Sweden in august.

Thought that it were suposed to be secret until the fair in Nurnberg, which I think is next week.

Dunno About technic but racers there are two of those larger tiny turbo sets coming. At least one of theese features monster trucks.

In this TV-documentary (in swedish) of Stefan Holm, a former Swedish high jumper, talks about LEGO and shows a LEGO mosaic of the Athens 2004 Olympic LOGO that he built. Incidentally it were at that olympic game he struck gold. And I think the mosaic looks good. The sequence with the mosaic starts at about 38:50.

From what I've seen so far of this year's releases I'll be getting 10193: Medieval Market Village, 7635: 4WD with Horse Trailer, 6754: Family Home Space Police!!! And I have a feeling that my daughter is going to nag about 3834-1: Good Neighbors at Bikini Bottom until my ears bleed. She absolutely loves Spongebob. So I'll probably be buying that one too.

I'm sorry but go and have another look at how the combine harvester actually looks. The top of it looks exactly like on the picture. The white area with two orange beacon lights are the top of the cab, the dark bley thing is the top of the engine and the black bar stretching out to the right is the hay stack boom, or whatever that's called.

Here is one. The "original" scan was bigger though.

To answer your questions: 1. Each altarnative model costs money to design and produce instructions for. So the more alternative models there are the more money the set will cost. And LEGO need to keep their prices down in order to compete with Mega Blocks etc. And to be honest I think that 3 models are quite enough. 2.) I guess the sales of racers are enough to keep it going year after year. But the tiny Turbos don't sell enough to support 8 different sets. And even with only 4 sets I think LEGO has a hard time varying the designs. I think this years Tiny Turbos feel all too familiar.

Yay! Space police impulse sets. And it seems like there is a black classic airtank in 8399.

Power Miners Promotional Polybag
Mirandir replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah it's him that sent out the polybags. I guess it's sent to all AFOLs in Sweden he has adresses to. Which is more or less the people on SWElug. -
Both yes and no. The dwarven mine was first released as a limited edition in the US at christmas 2007. In the rest of the world it was released as a regular set a little later. The limited edition did sell out rather quick, if I remember correctly. A couple of months later, around summer I think, it was rereleased in the US as a regular set with a higher price.

Power Miners Promotional Polybag
Mirandir replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
According to some info I just got from LEGO there will be 6000 of these bags handed out in about 50 - 60 Swedish stores. There will also be over 100.000 of theese packed with the Donald Duck comic in Sweden, Denmark and Norway real soon. So it's not exactly going to be a pension investment... -
Power Miners Promotional Polybag

I opened one bag as well and it was the green one, "Sulfurix". So I'm guessing the promo contains only that rockmonster.
