To be honest I'm not sure. I've got two low quality prelim pictures. In one there is a bad guy visible. But he/she doesn't resemble any one of thoose we've seen so far. The colorscheme of the fig besides the head suggest it's that spikehead guy. But the head is in what seems to be dark tan or dark orange color. I guess it could be Plisken. But the color of the head is darker and the shape of the head seems wrong. So I think it either a preliminary design of the baddies we've already seen or a completely new baddie. However I'm pretty confident that it includes at least two baddies. Since it seems to have a "freeing a fellow baddie" setup. Well you are correct in your assumptions that it's not a base. But it's neither for "swooshing" since I think that's a term exclusive for flying vechiles...

If you ask me I'd say that we're seeing the end of the LEGO Spongebob line. I base my opinion on these things: 1.) There are only two new sets this year. Neither of them will apear in stores in Sweden (A strong indicator of poor sales) 2.) The only new sets seen this year are rehashes. Wich will make these sets even less popular. 3.) Megablocks has signed a license agreement with nickelodeon and my guess is that it'll involve Spongebob.

That would be Squidmans Pitstop. However They've seem to have changed it a bit from the prelim I saw a while back. Then it was built on top of a white, or light bley, version of this baseplate. The only real thing I like about this base is that trans-red canopy on the bad-guy-spaceship. I like the other "limited edition" set much better. And no I won't tell you anything about it other than I think it's one of the best in this first lineup of SP III.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Mirandir replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
8708 Cave Crusher will be widely available in sweden and not a TRU exclusive (It's in the retailer catalogue). Release is in august alongside the other second wave Power Miner sets which has already been publicly displayed. Looking at the size of the thing I'd say it's likely to get a pricetag around $70 - $75 USD. -

Regarding the fact that Star Wars increased LEGO's profit last year makes it extremely doubtful that the license will end anytime soon. I think we'll see LEGO Star Wars for years to come.

I can see an alternative design using a this part. Don't know how that'll affect the look of it as I don't have anyone in black to try it. :/

Thanks guys. :) Here's a picture(on the left) of the original impulse set that's being released in june.

Oh no!! Those pesky Blacktron I stole the plans for 8399 K-9 Bot and with it they can finally conquer the world... Or maybe not... Actually I wanted to try to build the Space Police impulse set 8399 K-9 Bot but unfortunatly some necessary pieces isn't available in white just yet so instead I decided to build it in a Blacktron I colorscheme. So here it is. The Blacktron I Robo K-9. It's actually kind of cool and my kids just asked where I put this as they find it awesome. And they really want to play with it. So I'm guessing that the set is going to be a hit amongst kids.

I seriously doubt that there will be any new Avatar sets from LEGO. 1. The failure of previously released LEGO Avatar sets. 2. The License agreement between Nickelodeon and Mega Blocks. And I doubt that LEGO still owns the Avatar license. Due to MB/Nick license agreement I find it likely that we'll se Mega Blocks releasing Avatar/The Last Airbender sets. Regarding batman I've heard that there are no plans for new Batman sets. But a new LEGO Batman game might change this.

Sweden will get all of Space Police including those two TRU exclusives. The impulse sets will arrive in june and the rest in august. There were a list posted previously with countries where this theme weren't going to be sold. If I remember correctly it's UK/IR, Russia & Japan that'll have to do whitout them for now.

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Mirandir replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Got confirmation that this is for real a while ago. It will most likely be a S@H Exclusive in Sweden. Releasdate is set to 1 april. According to info in the confirmation it seemed like there were a small possibility of a delay until may. EDIT: Some info removed on request by LEGO...- 559 replies

Regarding the pilot in Arial Defence Unit I think it's just Trace with the wrong hairpiece. As have been said several times already you need to remember that the pics are preliminary and are subject to changes. The ban regards posting the actual pictures not linking to them on another site. And I think that if a competitor wanted to steal the designs they would rather get their hands on the retailer catalogue. The catalogue contains pretty much every set released a certain year, excluding the exclusive ones, and I believe it's sent out during summer the year before. So it'll be available way before we get any leaks, most leaks we see comes from this catalogue anyway. However I do agree with the argument that seeing pictures of comming sets may keep people from buying the current ones. But all this is an offtopic discussion that belongs in a thread of it's own.
-
Haha I was dead worng about the squidman. I need to get myself some glasses or something... I believe the ban only regards putting the actual pictures in your post. Linking to another site showing the pics are, AFAIK, allowed.
-
It contains 2 figs. 1 Space Police and "Pliskin", or a fig that looks very much like him. The Space police fig is on a smallish vechile. Unfortunatly it's in the background and the pic is so small I can't really tell what it looks like. Well the catalogue pics are prelims but the fig has the same, or a very similar, head as that four armed guy. However it seems like in the Squidman sets he only have two arms. And a red cape, btw.
-
The preliminary picture in LEGO retailer Catalogue 2009... Just realized that we've actually seen the whole of that set as I had forgotten that this larger SP III plane is in it besides that small scooter thingie. The box has the same dimension 6241 Loot Island. Which gives a hint at what size the set is.
-
Well I thought that this was from freeze ray frenzy but after a quick look I realized that that airship is similar but bigger. It's the same badguy though. But I still believe that the vechile that squidman is on in this picture is from gold heist. It's the same size anyway. The two later sets are TRU exclusives and not in the catalogue so I didn't know about them until recently...
-
Not really, It's Squidmans escape and Freeze ray frenzy. Neither are big sets and of the latter I think we've seen parts of already.
-
Nah it's rather a: "I could tell you but then LEGO would kill me" kind of thing. I did a promise when I got the catalogue sent to me. And I think I've already said to much... But I think that I can say that, as far as I can see, most off what's in the catalogue has already leaked...
-
The catalogue contains number, name, releasemonth and boxdimensions of the sets that are going to be sold in toystores. The pictures are to small for any text to be readable. But the 5969 Squidman Escape only contain two minifigs and one is a space police...
