  1. Pure speculation at this point. The big grain of salt I would put here is that we don't know we're not getting battle packs in 2021 - only that none of the 1HY sets are battlepacks. They could still show up in summer. I don't know what LEGO's profit margins are like but I would be willing to bet they have never made $100 per sale from a single set. Another thing I've noticed - the set numbers seem to cover 75295 through 75307, but 75296 is missing. Is it possible we could see another surprise release like the 501st set? EDIT - never mind, was looking at the list that Landino shared which had two sets missing off it for some reason, not the PromoBricks one.
  2. I'm actually OK with how this wave sounds. It will depend on how they end up looking of course, but it sounds like a sensible way of doing things - cheaper sets for kids and figures, one or two more expensive system sets, plus UCS and MBS sets. I realise not everyone thinks this way but if I want properly detailed and scaled system Star Wars stuff, I'll just MOC it. I'm surprisingly excited by the Scout Trooper helmet rumour though. I think the helmets are great little desk-warmers and the Scout Trooper has a really interesting design. Looking forward to seeing how that will turn out.
  3. Interesting. It's purely anecdotal but in my experience ANH is normally the first one anyone watches (i.e. watching them in order released, at least first time round). I think the key here is going to be those that grew up with nothing but the OT, which again goes back to the whole non-AFOL buyer. The other thing is that Tatooine has popped up so much in Star Wars that I don't think it'll be limited to those who like the cantina; I wouldn't consider myself a fan of the cantina per se, but this set will look great with my other collection of Tatooine builds like the Sandcrawler and Landspeeder.
  4. I mean... Aren't Sandcrawlers really just gigantic mobile pawn shops? I bet they'd go down a storm on Pawn Stars/Storage Wars. Initially I thought it was what others had suggested that it was where R2-D2 and C-3PO hide away, but there's not really any defining features on that so it's hard to tell. I think that's a fun little easter egg to be fair, although I wouldn't go as far as a calling it a 'hilarious' hidden surprise...
  5. So it looks like the roof just comes off and sits to one side when the cantina is open, which is fine I guess. Still looks fantastic, seeing all those new minifigures in a line is quite something!
  6. I'm definitely adding a blue milk float to my MOC list. That sounds great.
  7. Lovely stuff, of the three you've posted this is definitely my favourite!
  8. J'adore! Les détails à l'intérieur sont sympas, joli concept. (My French is very rusty, je m'excuse!)
  9. AAT yes - although I picked up the last one from John Lewis, which had a pretty sparse selection. As for the 501st... No chance. I spoke to someone in a LEGO store who said that they'd ordered another 3 batches of 50 odd sets each after they sold out of the initial order, and they all went before the day was out. Even some of the employees can't get their hands on them. I was told the best bet is to check S@H to see when it changes from out of stock to on back-order and check LEGO stores the next day, as that's when the orders get sent out.
  10. Is it possible the numbers were allocated at the same time with the intention of releasing them alongside each other, but for whatever reason the Razor Crest was released earlier? I don't really know if there's any logic to how set numbers are allocated.
  11. I feel like I say this every other week, but I reckon this is another set with one eye trained on the non-AFOLs, who will more than likely have none of the main figs since they're not LEGO collectors. If someone's favourite Star Wars scene is the cantina and they had to get one LEGO set, then this is it, and it fulfils that brief extremely well given how well-rounded the figure selection is. Long-term collectors don't make LEGO any money though, it's such a small subset of the market. In losing that sector they won't miss out on anything. You're right in that there will be diminishing returns for collectors, but that's true of any hobby.
  12. I'm very impressed, this looks like a really neat set. I'm almost more excited for the Devaronian than Garidan. Not a day one purchase but almost certainly going on the list.
  13. The leak looks good, almost like a MOC in terms of build quality - that landspeeder in the background does indeed appear to be the V-35 which is an awesome inclusion. So so far figs appear to be at least one sandtrooper, an ithorian and the man-bat, along with Baba and Evazan. I wasn't all too excited about this set but this picture has really piqued my interest, I have to say.
  14. No problem - I made a full-scale one of my own a few months ago and was similarly surprised to see it had a lot more under the water. Still looks great though!
  15. This was part of the reason I bought the Endor battle set, as I wanted two of them and was planning on getting TSFKATRC when it came out. I think the dual-molded helmet might bump up the price of that figure a bit, although I guess the stormtrooper helmets are no different. It's a shame there aren't more of them, I think it's the best figure LEGO have put out in years.
  16. Looks great, the solution for the wings is really neat! Just a small nitpick though - there is supposed to be a fin of sorts coming down from the middle, kind of like a ship's keel. I doubt you would need to make any changes to the model aside from just adding a few pieces underneath.
  17. Just picked up the last AAT from John Lewis with the LEGO store having exhausted its stock. The size inaccuracies don't bother me as much as I thought they would in person. On a slightly different note, the Star Wars stock they had was very odd - a few of the new sets (loads of IT-Ss), one each of some of TRoS sets, a few Solo sets, and about two dozen Rathtar Escapes which really don't seem popular. They also had a load of Resistance Bombers, but all were the non-Finch Dallow version which I found interesting, so if anyone in the UK thinks they'll be of any value down the line, hit up John Lewis.
  18. I suspect this isn't an unpopular opinion, but I thought the two midi-scale sets we got were great for that reason, especially the Star Destroyer.
  19. At last, we've been waiting too long for this Gremlins tie-in! In all seriousness I doubt I'll pick it up, but it looks pretty nifty, the £70 price tag seems reasonable for what it is. I love how he's holding the little ball from the joystick as well.
  20. Very nice work. It seems like you didn't have to swap many pieces out for colour variations which makes them all really nice and consistent. I've found the scale of the Eta-2 interceptors so hard to get right in minifg scale. Either you use the cockpit and wing pieces that LEGO use, which are detailed but too big, or sacrifice some detail for the right scale. It's a good job 'minifigure scale' has a lot of wiggle room.
  21. That mammoth piece works really well for the mudhorn, it seems to be the perfect scale as well. And the Child is very neat as well. Great MOC!
  22. Looks really neat, it seems like we got a lot of gameplay in there which is good to see. I would assume blue milk Luke would be the preorder minifgure tie-in. I do wonder if that Vader snip from Rogue One means we'll get extra content for anthology movies.
  23. A shame but not unexpected. If it means the game is finished to a decent standard I don't mind one bit.
