Eh, I think I could live without MS. I was never too fond of it to be honest. If I ever fall into a large sum of money, CC would be first on my list(followed by the Super Star Destroyer!) I just wish TLG would offer expansions for the modulars. I want to add floors to GE but I cant justify buying the whole set again.

Thanks! I hope I do well, at least I have a while to study. As for the 2012 I already have two, haha. I bought a second the other day to serve as an unmarked car.

@ grogall, I agree about market street not being a real part of the series and to be honest I never liked it much anyway. And I don't see the Windows not lining up being an issue. It's a separate building, there's no real reason for it to line up perfectly. GE doesn't line up with FB, etc..

Ok, I'm drooling! Of the 3 modulars I missed out on(CC, GG, and MS) I most regret not getting the Cafe Corner. It is such a beautiful set, and I love the way it looks when combined with a second one. It's stuff like this that has me motivated to ace the upcoming sherrif's test. Detailing cars will never pay for the lego city of my dreams.

Another lovely creation. Your style is similar to mine. 4 wide but with modern pieces included. I like your use of cheese slopes on the front of the truck.

It's already a fair bit larger than GE or FB. Bear in mind the TH is supposed to have been built in the late 1800's while the other modulars are presumably newer buildings(such as the FB which would have been built 40 years later) it would make sense to me that the other buildings in town would gradually catch up to the size of the TH over the years. At least, that's the story I'm going with for my town, even though technically the TH will be the newest addition and will magically appear between existing buildings.

The 1x2 tiles on the facade of the Pet Shop house are the same color as this building, correct? If so, that's a very nice color. I was passing through my old town yesterday and I noticed the town hall is pretty similar to this set, even the color. That made me want this that much more. I wish I could find a good image on the internet though.

It looks great though I think the size is off. From what I can tell, the Mako Shark II debuted in 65, and the Manta Ray in 69 as a restyled Mako Shark. It doesn't seem that it was a fullsize car though.

Great build, but I think the minifigs make this one for me. That teacher looks like he just rolled out of bed, and that kid on the lunch line looks terrified of the sushi chef.

Great job on the Vette. The front end is instantly recognizable as a C3 Corvette, though the rear says Ferrari to me, like a 328 or 288 or something. Speaking of which, a 288 GTO wouldn't be hard to produce in Lego form. hmm...

Is the lady going to jump after the business man had his way with her earlier? Thank you for sharing this picture, I was planning on putting it between GE and FB when I get it.

I absolutely love this little truck! There's always been something about classic town utility vehicles that I like. I may build one of these for my own town.
-
Looking better, but it needs to be bigger. Here's mine for some inspiration.

Yes, I guess they are pretty darn big in real life. Still, I prefer the more compact size of the original, but I do like the ability to carry more paramedics.
-
Perhaps you could free up some room by making the building only one floor? Otherwise, aside from the space issue, its looking pretty good. Do you have a car for the showroom?

@ Jut, I had missing pieces in one of my last modulars, though I cant remember if it was GE or FB as I built them both on the same weekend. That's a bit worrying that this is having problems with missing pieces as well. With GE and FB, you would think they had any bugs in production worked out by now but evidently not. That is also very odd that they stacked two 1x8 bricks. This is something I even try to avoid in my own MOCs after having seen so much of the layered bricks in my modular sets.

Was 7890 really as bad as some of you say? I personally think I prefer that vehicle to this one, though I like the inclusion of a female fig in this set. This ambulance is a bit too big IMHO.

The playability of the elevator seems fine to me. I had built a hotel when I was younger that had an elevator operated by a rope at the top of the shaft and that was a pain in the butt to operate but I still had fun playing with it. For any kid lucky enough to get this set, the easy use of the elevator will only help them play and they won't care about how it looks For us AFOLs, the issue is mainly aesthetic, but it can always be modded. Though it is somewhat curious that Lego would "dumb down" a feature on one of these considering who the audience is for the modulars. Whatever, I just want this sitting next to my FB already!

Huge on this! The front end is spot on, its instantly recognizable, as are the doors. Great job on this one. I would love to have this brick built on display in my room. And since we're on the subject, here's a GTS I had to detail a while back at work.

Much appreciated, I keep having to zoom in to read the text on my phone.

I have both and I think both are wonderful sets. As much as I dislike the larger city cars, I love the new police car(and the almost identical yellow car from the camper set) however it did need a few mods that IMO Lego should have gotten right in the first place. So I vote police car!
-
Ahh I see, that's what I figured. Should be easy enough to MOD the car.

The elevator car is enclosed or the shaft is enclosed?

Well that was nice of them. This will be my like fourth brick separator though. I've misplaced and replaced them over the years and they all decided to turn up one day. That's great that they did that for the colors. I have a bit of difficulty telling the dark colors apart sometime and my girlfriend always asks me if its calling for black or dark grey so this should make it easier on us. I cant wait for this set. She's excited to build it with me too. That's what I did. No road plates in this picture but they make a U around the modulars now.

Is that a new brick separator?
