  1. I'm not sure exactly what set they came from, but they are real Lego. My best guess is a Res-Q set. I believe the original set came with 1x2 trans blue tiles for lights.
  2. The shopping mall near me used to have a Lego store, its since shut down and been turned into a clothing store, but it was a great way to get trees, Windows, doors, etc.. I'm glad I stocked up on trees when I did.
  3. If I mod any of the 2012 area I will be sure to add plenty of shovels for you.
  4. I'm still looking forward to seeing this completed. Selling motorcycles as well as cars is an interesting idea. I'm thinking I may do an octan dealer across the street from Bolt.
  5. Another slight modification, it gives it more of an art deco look I think.
  6. This building and your others are beautiful. I love the roof on this one, and the modern side section. I love that white 4 wide car too. I use the same design.
  7. Very nice engine you've made there. I may have to try an 8 wide soon. That front end looks great BTW. I love the headlights and grille.
  8. I wish they were in stores. I was shopping all weekend and they had a sale on a few 2011 city sets but nothing that really caught my eye. Ended.up placing an order at lego shop at home for the Pet Shop. When the 2012 sets come out I plan to stop and get one every Friday after work.
  9. Lol thank you. The tools on the hood are all Lego though.
  10. The tribe of the New Legoredo Fire Department.
  11. I used one baseplate for the showroom and one for the shop, divided by the service/parts counter.
  12. It didn't quite look right on the hood, I figured with the extra space he could just toss it in the back. The feathers? Because this is the chief's truck, of course. If you notice, I redid the Seagrave as well.
  13. The first one I did was like your second option. I liked the way it looked but I like my new one more. Which way are you leaning?
  14. Yup! It's getting black and white checkerboard on the whole inside.
  15. I've been thinking about a car lot, lack of pieces are the problem. I also have the coffee machine ready to go in, but great call on the water cooler. I need a lift as well, but I'm not sure how to build it or even fit it in the shop.
  16. I know, the inside is very bare right now. I tried to throw some furnishings in just for the pics, but I still need a few more things. I'd actually started that gumball machine before I saw yours, but I did get the idea for the stand from you, though I believe you used a different piece? Also, I realized its kinda hard to tell, but those small cars are meant to have a stripe, hence the white on black color scheme(and vice versa). I just threw them together quick to have more cars to display but I like the way they came out. They look like mini versions of the interceptor. My only real issue with the building is that the real modulars will tower over it. I'm working on a small house to fit next to this.
  17. When I saw the title I thought to myself, "how big does a lego cell phone store need to be?" Evidently not very big lol. Nice job, I'm looking forward to seeing it completed with stickers.
  18. I loved 6553 when I was little and I always wanted 6444.
  19. This is my first attempt at a modular building. I had done this dealership in the classic town style but then moved on to other projects and I decided to revisit it as a modular since I'll be getting Fire Brigade for Christmas. Back before high school, when I still actually played with Legos, I had created a bunch of different car companies. Bolt was always my main one, and is basically my version of Ford(I'm a big Ford guy). I kept the layout and overall design simple. Even as a modular, I don't think this would look too out of place in a classic town. The inside is a bit cramped, but I figure as my town grows the dealership can grow with it. So just a one car showroom and garage for now. Those letters on the front were a real learning experience for me. Ecclesiastes' modular bank helped me figure out how to do it. My toolbox/cart with power drill w/ charger and vice grip. What to do when you have no bottle opener? The staff posing with 3 Bolt vehicles: sfatt from left to right - manager, salesman, service/parts manager, mechanic(as the town grows, the manager would like to bring in some new talent) Bolt Interceptor GT flanked by two Bolt Stallion GTs Any tips are greatly appreciated. Sorry for the bare floor and sidewalk, I need to bricklink the tiles. Update 10/12 update 11/2012
  20. That car dealer looks like he has ties to the mafia.
  21. This reminds me of my old tonka trucks from my youth, especially with the mechanical functions. Great job. I love that its minifig scale too, it looks like it could be an official set.
  22. I love that Indian cigar guy. I have the same Indian, I may do something similar. Also I happened to make a gumball machine yesterday as well, a very similar one. Great minds think alike I guess. I'm putting mine in my car dealership. I love your dealership too BTW. Someone here made note of the fact that its an "octan" dealership. When I was younger, before my dark ages, I had created many different lego car compaines and octan was actually one of them. It was meant to be like Chevrolet so I love that you've decided to do something similar. It'd be a great rival for the one I'm cooking up, which is meant to be my version of Ford. Great work so far though. Will you be doing the town hall?
  23. I definitely agree that the details of the front would look better in a larger scale and I thought of making it an 8 wife from the start especially to get that split window look but I'm getting Fire Brigade for Christmas and I'm worried this won't fit as it is. I'm happy with it for now aside from some minor details. I was originally going to make it and a tractor and trailer but decided to go with just a chassis. I've put this aside to work on my car dealership anyway, as I had put that on the back burner for a few months now. Pics to come of that, its still a wip and I have to bricklink all the tiles for the floor and sidewalk. I'm really excited to post it. It'll be my first modular building. I had originally tried it as a classic town style but wanted something to fit with the Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium that my brother may get for Xmas. Again, pics to come later today. Can't wait until work is over! Haha :)
