  1. I will let you know tomorrow. Probably a lot less. Thanks! Means a lot, hearing these kind words.
  2. Thanks and sure, I could elaborate. 9 PF elements!! Including ALL motors! Unimog wheels New yellow rims The functions work very well with PF, while the 8265 has manually operated functions (you can add PF, but it's that well implemented and integrated as in the 42030) Portal hubs Unique bucket It looks massive compared to the 8265 And I agree with Blakbird; you can't really compare both models. It's like comparing the 42009 Crane with the 8053. When you see this model in real life, you'll know why I would recommend to spend the extra money.
  3. Most of them can be used in a different color.
  4. This is a question with no right or wrong answer. Really depends on your goal, when buying sets. Are you a collector, a builder, do you need the parts, do you want PF, want the PP wheels, etc. The 9398 will be available for a while, so you might get the 8466 and get the crawler later.
  5. Let's keep this thread about the Volvo. Please start a different topic about instructions for B-models On a more important matter; I had mail conversation with the Technic Team today, after they had noticed the discussion about the V1 vs. V2 receiver, and wanted to let us in the fan community know a bit more what happened. Let me try to summarize the discussion: Apparently, the V2 IR Receiver was developed for use in the 9398 4X4 Crawler. The 4X4 Crawler Power Functions set-up (two L motors for driving and one Servo motor for steering on one IR Receiver) has some specific needs to make the model perform the way it does. That is why the V2 Receiver was developed. The 40030 Volvo Wheel loader has a different Power Functions set-up (four motors on two receivers) and for different reasons (e.g. different motor characteristics, different drive train in the model, model play experience etc.) this set-up is more suited for the “V1” IR Receiver. From what I could understand, the model will not perform well with the V2 Receiver! The only visual difference between the “V1” and V2 Receivers are the printed “V2” on the receiver. When developing the packaging TLG simply put the wrong pictures on the box – it should have been pictures of the “V1” Receiver, as this is what is in the model. I was told that they are now correcting this error, so that all boxes going forward will be correct! Hope this clarifies things a bit.
  6. Nobody said it would be easy And like I hinted: it won't be big!
  7. @TheItalianBrick: I'm sure you will @D3k: True!
  8. Contest setup will be posted when it starts, no worries. It will be loud and clear
  9. No you are too late, sorry! Just kidding, I hope to start it this weekend.
  10. No worries. I'll leave it running long enough And I can hint...you won't be building a big model That's all I can say.
  11. The Volvo review and my work have kept me too busy to arrange anything else lately. Working out some minor details. Hopefully we can start this weekend. After that I will be staging some future contests, so I don't need so much time to get things started next time.
  12. Wouldn't two thin 3L liftarms suffice? Edit: middle cross holes...hmmm....late me take a look You are right Nico!! The axles are connected to the middle cross hole
  13. Axles have different colors based on their length. Even length = black Uneven length = grey Two long = red to distinguish it from the black 2L pin Grey pin is frictionless Black pin is with friction Blue pin is with friction, but the 3L is blue to distinguish it from the 2L variant. There are some "new kids on the block" with dark grey or tan colors. The color scheme TLG uses is to have as less confusion as possible.
  14. True! The Ultimate L350F needs some redesign in the front!
  15. To be honest; not sure why they used the cams. Any other 3L would have sufficed (if I am not mistaken). Maybe other members know why?

  20. That can only mean one thing..... You deserved it
  21. No doubt about it! He even received the Technic Pro tag
  22. I didn't say that My exact words are: "I don't think it's licensed. It's a cooperation between TLG and Volvo, but I'm pretty sure TLG isn't paying Volvo a fee or something." To be honest; I don't know whether the bucket and green engine cylinders can be purchased directly from Lego.
  23. Cool! Most of my parts are still in boxes. The frame is nearly finished. I have decided to take some time to finish it soon!
