42083 - Bugatti Chiron
Jim replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Adding one or two flex axles would probably have made it look better indeed. That being said; I don't think the gaps are so bad. -

We have a pinned topic for 2018 sets. Please don't start new topics. -

It is a stunning model! I will definitely address the flaws in my review, but man....this thing looks magnificent. I even like the front....if you lookt at it from the right angle -

I just finished the model and I absolutely love it. However, I have indeed noticed that the piston sometimes don't move or start moving after a long distance of driving. And yeah, the suspension doesn't work properly. Both the front and the back springs don't go back to the original position. -

I am almost done building the Chiron and I must say I am very impressed with the gearbox. Everything works like a charm and I can clearly see (and feel) that the sequence is correct. And I love the fact that it is a 8 + R and not an 8 + "8R". Still need to finish the front, so I am not sure how my suspension is holding up. -

The update was f...ed up by our custom skins. We had to manually correct all the skins. Some things still need to be fixed, but at least we can post and read again -

We are almost done with the concept of the contest. It will be in line with some of the LEGO sets released lately (that's a hint). We will go over the rules and create a discussion topic. Oh, and find some images without copyright for my promo image -

Please tone it down a notch or two. @Robin_IV was only trying to be helpful. No need to respond to him like this (and your previous post). -

This information already has been posted in the 2018 topic. I will be merging them. -

Exactly. Prizes like those won't break the bank and they are fun to get....and to show off indeed. -

I know, and I really like that you all think about it that way. But we once had a contest without prizes...and it just didn't feel right to me. And it doesn't even need to be a LEGO set. The coffee cups seemed to do well, so we might venture into Eurobricks paraphernalia as well. You will get ample time. Since it's the summer period with holidays and stuff, you do need some extra time. We are more or less finalizing the idea right now. It will probably still fit the non-vehicle concept, but with a twist -

There will be some (simple) prizes and I will be shipping them. I donβt like it when there are no prizes. Nothing big, but something nonetheless -
Check out the first review, in a series of reviews of the LEGO Star Wars Sets for the Solo movie, brought to you by our very own Reviewer's Academy Teacher WhiteFang.

We need to do some preparations etc, so I'm not thinking the next couple of days (let's say in two weeks or so). And we can take our time with this one. Since it will run during the summer and all. -
Hi. Please don't quote big images. Especially if they are on the same page. Thanks.

We might have found a theme that will fit the needs and still be interesting enough for most of you to participate -
And S motor would be very cool! That would instantly nullify all other criticism

Status update: not sure we will do either one of these. We'll come back to you shortly. -
That's a very nice review, especially given the time frame. Thanks for getting this only so quickly. One note though.....please...please...please film horizontally next time It's a very nice set. I can see why you prefer this one over the passenger train I'm still on the fence about the new "Power functions". I wonder what TLG has in store for Technic.

Nope, unfortunately not. I feel this is a missed opportunity. Wondered what they would have answered to that question. -

That is the same interview as Sariel posted. We were all in the same room. But I agree the answer is kinda funny. -

Maybe an addition.... 3. Make something MOTORIZED non-vehicle...you choose, go nuts!
