  1. Hi Peter, Welcome to EB! Please be aware that you are bumping a very old topic. Topic bumping is frowned upon, unless you really have something important to add to the converstation or it's a generic topic. Other than that; enjoy EB!
  2. Exactly how I feel about it. Besides that; TLG is the #1 toy company, so they probably know a thing or two about producing and selling toys While it’s a fascinating discussion, maybe it’s time to move the focus back to the actual set.
  3. Not entirely sure where this pic came from, but it's "Evan", created by Lee Magpili. http://www.legoengineering.com/meet-the-creator-lee-magpili/ http://burfdevelopment.com/lee-magpili-lead-designer-of-the-lego-mindstorms-ev3-at-the-bett-show/ https://www.facebook.com/pg/EV3Android/posts/
  4. I’d say...go for it Please use Eurobricks in the pics
  5. Indeed. I do see a lot of cool community stuff happening in the future.
  6. When we got the Powered Up train sets, the app wasn't available yet. When TLG released sets with app driven building instructions, the app wasn't available yet. And we didn't get access to beta versions. You can argue that the train could be controlled with a remote and that building instructions come in a booklet. All I am saying is that I wouldn't be surprised if reviewers got the set without the app
  7. Valid points! I have been thinking about doing MOC reviews, but I am not sure if this will work.
  8. That's not a valid argument. As a reviewer I have been in this kind of situation before. Usually we get sets before the apps are in the app store.
  9. While you might be right. The current discussion is about the quality of MOCs vs Official sets.
  10. Okay, I assumed there was an embargo, since the video started exactly at midnight.
  11. Done Granted, I haven't built much MOCs, so I am not a fair judge. However, the ones I built had sub-optimal building experience. The only one I absolutely love is Nathanael's modular car, but him being a former TLG designer might be unfair competition.
  12. Sweet! This is a concept I have been thinking about for quite some time. I want to make this with my EV3 units. So I'm following with great interest
  13. While @nerdsforprez has a point, I tend to lean towards Anio in this matter. MOCs seem to be way more awesome when you look at them. But when it comes to building experience and techniques, I think most officials sets are better than MOCs. Sometimes simplicity beats complexity. This.
  14. The video had an embargo (30th June at 0:00), so I reckon it's an official TLG offer. If so, the propper question would be; how did you get the exclusive (I won't be reviewing this set btw, so I don't have any information) PS I have split the other discussion into a new topic.
  15. No problem! But please start that topic. Looks interesting!
  16. Not at all. That's what this topic is all about Love Google Sketchup!
