Jurassic World 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
chris6507 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not sure if you are much of a reddit user, but https://www.reddit.com/r/JurassicPark/ is pretty active, talking about anything and everything to do with the movies, tv show etc. Obviously doesn't have quite the same flow as this forum, but as I said, people seem pretty keen and active and reply to peoples questions or thoughts. -
Don't know about others, but i'm finding LEGO doing GWP promotions especially thing like Harry Potter, when you can only get it with purchases of Harry Potter really annoying when they can't get their stock problems sorted out. How are you supposed to plan and prepare a purchase that will net you the GWP when LEGO's stock is constantly running out and often taking weeks to show up again? Probably just my anxiety flaring up again. But its just a bit frustrating when promos are so limited and stock count is all over the place. Hopefully if these 20th anniversary sets pan out, they've factored in demand for once. :-)

Sorry, but what do you mean by a UCS minifig scale area?
-
I was thinking the same thing! Although, i was never going to get Hogwarts Castle or Buckbeak. But i was at 100% for the minifig scale. What kind of sucks is that it was actually seeming like it WAS an affordable theme to collect. Im fearing it becoming like Star Wars.

Is this list in Euros? Also, can I say thank you for this. If this IS in fact next years list, as least I have plenty of advanced warning so I can start saving. And if it turns out wrong. Then i'll hopefully have some bonus savings. Lol.

This is absolutely amazing. If LEGO had done this, they would have had my money instantly. As it is... they get nothing from me for the poor excuse they put out.

Jurassic World 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Is this a particular TV Chanel or something? Because we already had the original release dates over a month and a half ago. Is another channel getting them? -

Yeah, got it on DVD. It was one of my favourite shows back when it was on. :-) Preferred the original main actor though. -
Yeah, you can actually just see the door to the daily prophet in that picture. But it's a pretty boring black door. So I think they've used the HBP design to make it look at big more exciting. I thought they'd just decided to make the random door into the Daily Prophet, but I actually realised in a later shot in the movie there is actually a sign higher above the door saying it is the daily prophet. I had taken a picture of that, but it's gone from the image hosting site. But I definitely think that picture justifies the colour and scale of the set. Others have still complained about the upper windows, and while It's hard to see the exact layout and design, it definitely looks like the large blob of pink is pretty accurate. I personally left it. I've set my set up as close to the original hogwarts design as possible, so my Astronomy Tower is one of the furthest back buildings, so you can't see it anyway! This is my layout: https://ibb.co/vDZtR5z.

Just to let you know. You are actually comparing apples and oranges. As far as i'm aware, the studio tour that you are seeing in the google maps is based on the latter movies, whereas for the most part. The diagon alley set is based on the first to movies. QQS is actually not too out of scale when compared to the correct movies. This is is a screen shot I grabbed a few months ago. https://ibb.co/GTQvdXF Basically the 1st 3 segments of Diagon Alley are all exactly in the correct order. The only thing that isn't correct is WWW, it is this one that has been incorrectly tacked onto the rest. Hopefully this might help you, as personally I hated QQS and the way it looked initially until I saw it was actually very accurate to the source material. I now love it for how accurate it is, and as others have said before, the pink isn't as horrible and detracting in real life as it is in the pictures online.

Why are you glad they listened? Hoping the movie will be better because of it? -

Still find it funny that you hate the Trike set, as that's probably my third favourite set after the Jurassic Park and Ankylosaurus sets. But I loved it for the fact it had my favourite dinosaur and another ride for my theme park. Wish I was more like you. Seeing things in film make me want them more (very childish i know. lol.). -

No. That's the problem. I totally plan on getting it on DVD, but there is no indication on when that might be. I thought they series was really, good. Hopefully you enjoy it too! :-) Only bad things about the series is it made me want to buy more of the LEGO sets! Lol. -

That would be awesome. But just one thing i'm confused about, what vehicle is the Jurassic World Dilophosaurus Ambush based on? It seems like it would just be a recolour of that set. Still can't believe it's been well over and month and still no options anywhere paid or unpaid to watch LEGO Jurassic World Double Trouble! -
I immediately just imaging a slightly different moulding of something like this guy. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=toy021#T=S&O={"iconly":0}

Speaking of Queenie, Newt's Magical Creatures was the only original set I hadn't bought. But when I started looking for it, it had gone from $70AUD to $120-$150AUD. But I just found someone today just down the road from me selling it complete for $25AUD. So happy!
-
Why do you say TLG wouldn't want the success of individual sets to be known? Maybe i'm just tired, but just not quite comprehending what you are implying the benefit of keeping that information to themselves is. And i'm genuinely intrigued now! Lol.

It would be like going to Movie World or Six Flags where every character is 6-7 feet tall!

Unless LEGO is under new management and they've thrown all their business models out the window, that leaker is full of it. They've put out enough leaks to basically cover the full 1st half of next year and EVERYTHING they've anounced is waaaayyy out there! Basically if they got anything right its a very, very lucky guess. At the same time though, the conclusion of the trilogy may be a likely time to stop, but i guess only LEGO knows at this stage. Lord of the Rings and Hobbit both basically died with the last movies. -
It could... i may be in the minority, but i loved rise of Skywalker and absolutely hated the last jedi with a passion. But i found since the last one came out, it made last jedi not feel so bad. I know lots of people hated rise of Skywalker, but it worked for me. So maybe if the next movie is great and makes the set up worth it, it might feel better. But still as Lego-freak said, should really be able to stand on its own.

Really? My wife and I watched it 2-3 months ago and I thought it was tolerable at the cinema, but through repeat viewings were just unwatchable. I kept seeing crikital.hit's posts and kept getting excited about things. I quickly realised he was a turd pasting false leaks. It's enough though that you see it and get that little jolt of excitement. But then kills it when you see his (or her) account attached to the "leak"

Thanks for all your replies about the Weasley's Hat Mechanism. I'm such a twit. I hadn't connected the lever to the technic pin. No wonder the thing wasn't working properly. Lol.
-
How does it operate? Is it pull up or side to side? Mine currently goes awkwardly in all directions. Lol.

Tasmania. I had been downloading the episodes and they put out the first two and skipped the third and fourth and then uploaded like 5 and 6. It's when I was searching for the missing episodes I stumbled across it on 9now, but they only ever had 4 episodes at a time and moved to the one episode ahead each week. Fortunately I found it like a day before the end of the 3rd week. So found it perfectly in time to see everything. They did a couple of rounds and then it disappeared completely. -
For those who have Diagon Alley, is the mechanism for raising the hat on the Weasley's a really awkward, finicky mechanism that doesn't work very fluidly? I don't think I did anything wrong when building it, but just wanted to know if the mechanism doesn't work great for others too before I bother taking it apart to redo.
