LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
LandShark replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think the reason they haven't done red is because it would make it too hard to see the Lego logo. Purple seems like a likely choice for Series 7. Series 8 may be the last one (but I doubt it). -
Yeah, it only started on Monday. I've been waiting for it for ages. I assume you're talking about the Bay films? I'm also wondering what the future of Transformers is. Prime probably won't go on for that long. Transformers is defiantly a big money-maker (especially with the toys), so I doubt it'll be too long before a new director takes over the franchise....

Misprints and Other LEGO Production Oddities
LandShark replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Do you think someone could add some links into the first post? A link to the Star Wars one, and a link to the History Themes one. Then we could have this as a sort of general misprints topic/index. Anyway, it's very interesting seeing all the misprints people have got, especially from older themes. -
Thanks for the comment. I was going for a simple look, as that's how I've always imagined Stormtroopers. The variants aren't all colorful and special, unlike Clone Troopers. I hadn't thought about cutting up stickers, though. I might check it out...

So... Did anyone else catch the UK premiere of Prime? It's now on every weekday at 6pm, on Cartoon Network. I actually found myself kind of enjoying it. The animation's pretty good, it's not the best, but it's still good. The characters themselves are good, too. I don't really like the kids, but I'll get used to them. Ratchet is awesome. I'll definitely keep watching, I'm interested in where they'll take the series...

Sometimes inspiration finds unexpected ways...
LandShark replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the title, but I wasn't disappointed. I think this is very innovative and clever! At first I didn't realize the stand was made using the pieces from the set. It's a very recognizable alternate build, and a great one for using limited parts. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
LandShark replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This series looks awesome! And, it seems that the early picture we got of Lady Liberty had the dress slope the wrong way around. Weirdly, there's no sports 'figs, but a lot of country-based ones. But, all of them still look great, there's many I'll want multiples of. -
I agree, getting misprints all the time would be annoying. Also, Clone O'Patra, that's a pretty precise misprint. It's also the first Ninja misprint I've seen.

Great idea, having a shore base for an underwater theme. Very original and logical. You made it look like a classic set too, with the colour scheme, blockiness, raised baseplate etc. . Overall, I really like it. Looking forward to your other sea-MOCs.

I'm going to be checking that every 5 minutes, now. Although I can't wait for pictures, we should really consider ourselves lucky that we got those minifig' photos way back at Comic-Con. It has given us a really long wait, though (and still over 3 months to go).
-
I didn't think it was 100% confirmed, that's why people were wondering if it could be a another 'Quest theme. And thanks to whoever got rid of that question mark. I've been saying this for months, but any day now...

What If Battle Part 3: British Line Vs Mummys?
LandShark replied to - Spark -'s topic in Pirate MOCs
Yet another great part, Spark. Once again the choice of minifigure heads are perfect, especially the one in the water. Your photography is very good, as is the whole scene. And, I can see that the battles are getting slighty more ridiculous every time. Still hoping for British VS Robots. -
Contest: The Underwater Version
LandShark replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Very good idea for a contest. I probably won't be able to make an entry, I'm a bit busy at the moment. But I am looking forward to seeing what people come up with, and I hope to see lots of Castle-based entries. -
Ah, that's true. It still seems a little bit weird as a logo, though. I guess we can take the question mark out of the title now. Good point with the Alien Conquest logo, but that was more of a silouette. This seems a lot more realistic and detailed to be just a logo. I could be wrong, we'll just have to wait and see. Now I really can't wait for pictures!

I know I just said this a few minutes ago, but: Interesting... So now we know that it is called Dino. Now it seems unlikely that it is a continuation of Pharaoh's Quest. I'm not sure what to think about the Logo itself, it seem a bit weird for a peaceful theme (claw marks, roaring dino').
-
Interesting... On the other site Pteranodon Case was the cheapest. Anyway, it's good to see the names 'confirmed' on another site. EDIT: I've just remembered, the preliminary name for the Atlantis set 'Monster Crab Attack' was 'Encounters with the Monster Crab'. But it's probably nothing, this sound like a peaceful theme anyway.

Well, Mirandir previously said that the Ninjas would get two new head-gears. I'm guessing this is one of them, and the other is the one that has a 'Shredder-like mask'. So they might replace the normal ninja outfits as the ones we see in sets. I really can't wait for pictures.

Hmm... sounds like it could be similar to the brown crown thing, would you mind posting some pictures? Also, I've just realized that the sub-heading for this topic is 'Have you even got any?'. Could a Mod please change it to 'Have you ever got any?', like I originally intended.

What If Battle Part 2 : British Line VS Musketeer
LandShark replied to - Spark -'s topic in Pirate MOCs
I do agree that this looks much better than the first (and that was pretty good). The photography looks great, and the whole scene is very well built. I especially like the musketeer hiding behind the ruins, his pose is perfect! And I still stand by my point that you'll have to do 'British VS Robots' some day. -
Underwater Action Themes Avatar Contest!
LandShark replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm not sure if this counts as an 'entry' since I didn't have a sig-fig before, but I'll post my new one anyway. It combines my love of Castle with my love of Underwater themes, I call him... Knight Diver. Also, TheKingOfBuilding, your one is great! -
A nice-looking little clothes shop. It reminds me a lot of the toy shop from this:

Here's some pictures of my Evil Wizard's Undead Army: It's not that impressive, but my (much bigger) Crown Knight army was unavailable for photo-ing as there all inside my castle/other buildings and I didn't want to take them out. I'll try and get all my Trolls, Dwarves, Lion Knights and Dragon Knights together for photos some time soon, as well.

A reasonably simple purist figure I made a little while ago, but never got around to posting. I should also point out that it's not based on any source material. Just something I created. And as soon as I got the Skier figure, I thought the poles would be perfect for Electrostaffs. I also figured the Empire would need to have something to keep angry civilians/rebels under control. EDIT: I just realised that, due to some recent events, a riot trooper might be a little insensitive. Absolutely no offense was intended.

Thanks, guys. I completely agree. The way that most misprints are unique really makes the piece, and your whole collection, feel special . I'm searching my collection for any more misprint's. Obviously I'll post here as soon as I find any.

It's Underwater Action Themes Month!
LandShark replied to Hinckley's topic in Forum Information and Help
Ah, a very refreshing change. I've always been a big fan of underwater themes. But unfortunately I wasn't born when most of the older themes were around. And it's constantly in conflict with my Castle 'needs', but I've still managed to get quite a few Aqua Raiders/Atlantis sets. This month should be very interesting, can't wait to see what you have planned.
