  1. We should get ar raking for most impatient members ;)
  2. very cool, this makes me want to buy the set, which i initialy didn't want to do. Is that Daft Punk in the Rancor Pit?
  3. same here, they try to be to realistic and detailed. So this is wath we get, a more acurate figure, but not sush a good Lego figure.
  4. these are extremely cool!
  5. haha, you've ruined that image for me, but it's a funny idea, so I don't mind. Anybody knows what's suposed to be new on Plo Koon?
  6. Cool that they will make a set which is not based on an existing theme. I somethimes have the impression adult fans buy everything which features their favorite liscense, no mather what it looks like. Maybe the exo suit won't sell that great, but it's cool Lego choose for something that goes goes back to it's basics: Using you own imagination, with an air which reminds us of the old space sets.
  7. very cool, a very atractive way to teach some history. Any plans to make the rest, the beginning with caveman and a possible future?
  8. Very interesting topic, thanks for putting all this effort into this. BTW, it's cool to see the Belgian box has two languages on it.
  9. the bald head from the old guy in the collectible minifigure series?
  10. Some knockoffs are hilariously funny or strange, and that is what makes them cool to collect. I have 4 Lego knockoff Turtles, since I'm a Turtle collector, but otherwise I would never buy knockoffs, unless they are old and I find them on a flea marked. However, when buying knockoffs you should keep in mind that 1) the used matherials are probbly cheap and unsafe for children. 2) you have no idea were these come from, how they were made, sweatshops, child labour (I have no clue about that) 3) it's stealing creative property.
  11. thats tru, but cool that you've red the comics/books before you saw the movie. Seems like Tintin is popular Down Under. I know Cadel Eavns is big fan aswell. Hadock is very cool, don't know about Calculus, as Idon't know how he looks in the movie, they seem to be quite different. If you don't want to use decals, why not paint he faces, thats what I do for my customs anyway. Games Workshop paint is very good for it, and it's water based, so if you make a mistake, you can rub or scratsh it of. It's also very easy paint to work with in general, you just need water to clean your brushes, no chemicals.
  12. Really, no offence intended, but I refuse to see the movie. I really loved the comics as a kid, and the cartoons were cool aswell, since they are almost 100 % identical to the comics. But a Holywood production about one of my childhood hero's, I prefer not to see that. I can only be disapointed, even if the movie looks great.. Have you red the comics? To get back on topic, that is why I like it that your custom looks like the comic version ;)
  13. This is the first thing I hear about this theme, to many topics over here. But this is great news, my girl is only 2 years old, but I will buy these for her anyway.
  14. try contacting Lego directly
  15. you should try to sculpt one
  16. very cool and funny discription. They are block, but they are still sexy somehow
  17. looks very good
  18. I would use a different hairpiece if you want to do the Tintin from the comics. Maybe a regular male hairpiece. To attach and make custom parts I use milliput, or green stuff, you can find it in model shops, or Games Workshop. The trick will be to make it smoth over on the hairpiece. What I do is, put some superglue were the two parts join, useing the supeglue as a sculpting matherial. When it's dry, smoothen it out with sandpaper. Since this is your first try, try to make several at the same time ;)
  19. These are very nice and impressive. Good paintjobs aswell.
  20. Not a purchase, but my friends gave me the latest Millenium Falcon as a wedding gift :)
  21. Looks very good, I recognized the peacefull fella right away. I'm currious to see the rest.
  22. Thanks, yes I made the heads myself. It was hard to match the colours, on the pictures the difference shows more than in real life. Thanks, I Googled "lame album covers" and found to mush inspiration....
  23. These are some customs I've made for a fellow collector. Instead of the ussual reference pictures I did something else: So presenting, the very first boyband ever: Take This We all recognize Admiral Ackbar. Back in the days before he joined the Alliance he was the lead singer of the most popular boyband in the galaxy. On the guitar we have Fubar, he actualy doesn't play the guitar, he's just there to make the gang look cool. The other singers are Guillia (left) and Blanki (right) they are just playbaking, they have no tallent at all. On the maraca's we have Bonzy, he's the only surviving member, along with Ackbar, of the big Clone raid at the yearly Bunta festival. After the clone wars they both joined the Rebel Alliance, as a way to seek vengeance. This is the album cover of the groups first album. Four albums folloed before a commercialy timed split and an enevitable reunion.
  24. I agree, there is not mush to loose on a "test" like this anyway.
  25. Thanks for all the info guys. Good points, but I see Lego making an exeption and maybe try to sell it at that universitie alone, not as a Cuusoo set. I don't know after how many sales a set becomes profitable. Anyway, I think there are really a hundred creations on Lego Cuusoo which are much better, but don't get a tenth of the support that Purdue Pete has gotten. Very sad for all those great MOC'ers who don't have that many connections.
